The Duggar clan celebrated Thanksgiving with a trip to Branson, Missouri. They were joined by Grandma Duggar and Jim Bob's extended family (Cousin Amy Duggar King, Amy's husband Dillon, and Jim Bob's sister Deanna), as well as some of Michelle's extended family.
They stayed in a cabin and enjoyed good conversation, as well as visits to Silver Dollar City and the Dixie Stampede. Here are a few snapshots:

Spent it with my family at home!
ReplyDeleteMy mother and I stayed home with my sister and brother in law because they couldn't travel. I missed getting to see my brother, grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins, but it's that longing that I am thankful for. It has been a year of much thanksgiving to God, for the family I still have left, for the blessings and trails of faith. God is good and He is in everything. I hope you all had a blessed thanksgiving this year. It isn't always picture perfect, but Jesus is always by our side.

DeleteShe looked pregnant in the episodes filmed this summer. Her body has definitely changed, the way it did before when she was pregnant.

It looks like they had a lovely time. :) I am glad to see that Josh and Anna were there too. Thanksgivings are more enjoyable when the whole clan is there.. lol!

Christmas in Branson happens immediately after Halloween. I mean Dixie Stampede started doing it before Halloween. The parade is a nightly ritual at SDC and happens about four times during the night. It is a beautiful place this time of year and should be costed by all. I hope to get to go for my birthday.

True, most religions do not pray the Lord's prayer, but do you honestly expect to be forgiven for your own sins if you don't forgive others, regardless of your religion?

ReplyDeleteLove seeing so many of the Duggars in the pictures (we sure don't get to see them all in the show anymore). Really wish you would have Josh in some of the pictures. It seems like he has been banished. I noticed that he was not even in any of the scenes of the guests at Jinger's wedding. I for one want to see him and know how he is doing. We all make mistakes and we all must forgive. Time for Josh to be a part of the Duggars again!

DeleteI'm with you Robin. Anna has forgiven him and so has God. I'm glad she entered her "war room" and stormed the heavens for him. It takes a real prayer warrior to do that.
DeleteMaybe he has NOT been forgiven, or changed. Just because his family didn't kick him out doesn't mean others want to see any more of him. The first things he did were bad enough, but cheating on Anna was the sour cherry on top of that cake. This man's moral track records are not something that need to be approved of or accepted.

Only God knows what is in his heart, so please don't proclaim his clear conscience when no one here has any knowledge of it. I find it appalling that so many people here cheer him on simply and state that he is "forgiven" because they only want to be continually entertained with a show. Leave the man be; he misused his fame and it is better that he live a quiet and sincere life caring for his family rather than entertaining the likes of all of you if his repentance is sincere. He is better off laying low because fame is damaging for him.

DeleteIt would be nice if Derick would leave this style behind; looks grungy and unflattering. He was very attractive when he and Jill were courting. Jill looks like she may be pregnant, and her attire has not been flattering her natural beauty lately, either. They haven't been married that long not to care about their looks. IMO.

DeleteI agree with you. Derick looks much cleaner when he's looking more groomed. He is nic looking but this "new Derick" is distracting personally because all some can think about is trimming the hair, including the facial hair. I know he underwent mouth surgery but my goodness at least keep up with grooming. Poor Jill is looking like she cares less about her appearance as well. But she does at least look clean. I always admired Jill and Dericks relationship but like many I think the question now is, "what happened"?

Do Anna and Ben see their families often? Do they spend holidays with them as well? I don't ever see Bens parents sharing in 'announcements' with his family the Jessa's do, giving they live only a few hours away. Just curious. :-)

I don't believe "it's OK because I'm a sinner and God will forgive me (so you should, too)." That doesn't excuse any bad behavior, ever. It's called being responsible for what you do! However, the Bible calls us to forgive others as we are forgiven. It's not a suggestion; it's a mandate for Christians. That doesn't mean that people can't set healthy boundaries for themselves, as they see fit, but for people to expect the family to shun Josh forever just because we don't like seeing him at their family functions is just silly and wrong. Leave it to the Duggars to decide their own boundaries, as long as their children are protected. Look at King David. How he slipped and stumbled so grievously -- adultery and even murder -- yet God redeemed him and still called him "a man after God's own heart."

Jill, Jessa and Jinger need to take the shears and lop off at least a foot. what about donating to locks of love? Won't God like that if they donated their hair to a sick person who has lost theirs?
