Earlier this month, we posted a snapshot of five-year-old Michael Duggar and three-year-old Marcus Duggar. Then just a few days ago, we shared a picture of Josh and Anna Duggar on their eight-year wedding anniversary. Now we have a photo of 14-month-old Meredith Duggar. Isn't she just as cute as a button?
For those who will surely request a picture of Mackynzie Duggar, who turns seven years old next week, we're going to beat you to the punch. Here's one from a couple weeks ago:

ReplyDeletePlease tell me they aren't starting the leggings rule that young. There is no reason for a 14 mo. old to have to have her legs covered in the summer. If they think it's a temptation to show bare legs on a girl that young, they have BIG problems.

DeleteThe leggings look like a part of her sweet outfit. The dear child needs to be protected from bugs, rough surfaces, excess sun without chemical lotions, cold or even hot spots where the sun comes in windows and heats up surfaces. And wether we agree or not many people put some kind of cute little diaper cover on their girls under these kinds of dresses. I agree, it makes those outfits look complete as the child crawls and tossed around.

DeleteI'm not even a conservative Christian and I put legging on my girls under dresses and skirts if we're going out. The private parts are private. They need to stay private. And little girls DO NOT keep the skirt down. They just don't.

Are they negative comments or truthful? As the saying goes the truth hurts sometimes, but doesn't make it any less truthful.
DeleteAnd what do you consider to be "negative" comments? Differing opinions? Someone pointing out something that is blatantly against what the Duggars have said they've stood for? Something that is confusing? Something that is the truth about a situation that may not be rosy? Maybe you need to define what "negative" is because your readers may not understand, or they may want to hear the truth, bad as it may be.

If people aren't fans of the Duggars and have negative things to say, there are plenty of other places for them to post. Thanks for all of your hard work to bring information to those of us who still actually like the Duggar family and want to know what's going on in their lives!

I don't understand why people who seem to be against this family even bother to read their blog. If it upsets them, they need to stay away.

DeleteWe are in the days when right will be called wrong and wrong right. So some mixed up viewers think their comments that are negative are right. Please keep up your good work Ellie and Lily. The Duggars are a good thing to study. We can learn a lot from them.
DeleteIf a comment disagrees and is respectfully or well stated, or points out something that is true, why not post it? Why keep all responses vanilla? You state you want to keep out the "profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste," but what about those who simply disagree with another opinion or the popular opinion? Is nobody allowed to do that? If not, then that's kind of strange. Just cut off all responses, and you wouldn't have a problem. In essence, it's the same thing as cutting off all "negative" responses, or like posting a big "No opinions, please" sign on the blog.

I hope you will post a balanced amount of comments. This may be a fan blog, not an adoration page...please keep unbiased.

Perhaps he would rather not have his picture posted all of the time. Please stop being so negative toward those who are trying to keep us updated on the Duggar family.

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about all of the nasty comments people are making, they must be pretty bad if they don't get through; especially when you consider how negative so many comments are that do get through. Such a downer reading through so many judgemental remarks about a cute little baby because she is wearing leggings in September. Why people think they are experts on what is best for Merideth, Anna, Derick and the rest of the family is baffling. Would be nice if people would try to be a little more positive.

ReplyDeleteMy son was born just a couple of days before her and he's not walking yet... All in good time 😃
They showed her walking earlier this summer, I believe. Girls often walk before boys. I had a son, born a month prematurely, who took til 15 months to walk. But by that time he was reciting the alphabet from memory, and 8 months later he started to read and spell on his own. So I wasn't worried about his overall development. Different kids develop differently, and even the same kid develops their particular skills differently. You can't rush nature. Try not to worry. I had a nice laugh when the kindergarten teacher told me she was concerned because my son couldn't skip (in gym class) or tie his shoes. He had been tested on a 4th grade reading level by then, and he was learning the basics of algebra at home. I figured someday, he'd be so successful that he could pay someone to tie his shoes for him. Or invent shoes that didn't need to be tied. I was right. :) Patience. Forget what "the other kids" are doing. Let your son be himself, but if you feel worried, talk to a pediatrician.

ReplyDeleteWhy do they need to work at all? Do they not recieve money from the show? I cannot imagaine that only the Parents are taking the money. From my understanding the Duggars make 40,000 an episode so I'm sure there is plenty of money to go around.
