On last night's episode of Counting On, Jessa and Ben Seewald enjoy a visit from Christian hip-hop artist FLAME and his wife, Crystal. Before heading over to hang out with the Duggars, the Seewalds and their friends stop at a music store. Jessa and Ben look at keyboards, while FLAME teaches Spurgeon Seewald how to rap (video below).

I thinks it's great Ben and Jessa are opening up a world of Christian music to Spurgeon that obviously Jessa--not sure about Ben--weren't allowed to have growing up. Our Lord is beautifully diverse. Although I personally don't enjoy rap I find it encouraging Ben and Jessa are open minded enough to understand and embrace various cultures within the Christian world.

DeleteSpurgeon is so cute and attentive in that clip. I think he's so very cute. He seems to be a sweet baby as well. I've come to really like his name too tho at first I didn't. Spurgeon sounds so cute now and fits him.

Why is it sad? All rap music is not bad. If you would open your mind and listen to what is being said you can get a positive message about the struggles in this world that people face everyday. Stop being closed minded. Would it be so sad if they promoted classical music instead?
I found this night's episode very entertaining. I enjoyed it very much.

ReplyDeleteI dont like the fact that on other post people think something is wrong with rap. Thats crazy lyrics are the proof of clean music not the style. Lets remember that Beethoven music was considered provocative in its time. Now there is classical baby music that uses beetoven. God Bless Flame and his ministry.
