Who is more fashionable, Jessa Seewald or Jinger Duggar? Well, both sisters claim that the other has a better sense of style. According to Jessa, Jinger can create adorable outfits out of clothing that others might overlook. On the other hand, Jinger says that Jessa was the original Duggar who "brought in the style" for the rest (video below).

Why can't you wear slacks?
ReplyDeleteBecause they believe in obeying the Biblical teachings that women are not to clothing that men's clothing(Deuteronomy 22:5). They also believe in wearing modest clothing. (1 Timothy 2:9) I was very much influenced by the Duggars and much Bible study to give up my pants and wear dresses and skirts only. I wear dresses because I don't have worry about making or buying skirts and trying to find something that will go with them.
DeleteSince when are pants "men's" clothing? Men didn't wear them in Biblical times, when Deuteronomy was recorded. Everyone's robes looked more or less the same, men's and women's. If a woman puts pants on now, she sure isn't thinking anything heretical. She's thinking how comfy and practical it is to have pants (or shorts) on, that's it. Do you really think God cares how you are dressed? If so, He would have sent you here with an appropriate wardrobe.
DeleteI really like their style. I need help. I usually don't know what to wear in winter and I'm with Jessa in that I'll wear the same thing over and over
ReplyDeleteMe too ;-)
DeleteJana is more polished and I'm sure her sisters will follow in time.
ReplyDeleteIt's sweet watching them all mature and walk their own paths.
Does Jessa know the difference between "hobo" and "boho" style? No one wants to look like a hobo.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I was surprised as well when she said that and had to rewind to make sure what I heard was correct! It could have just been a slip of the tongue and she said it incorrectly lol. Was funny though!
DeleteThis clip has been done before. Why the repeat?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought but if you watch it its actually a different one. The title is just the same.
DeleteThis blog is becoming like TLC! Haha!
DeleteWhat about Alyssa Bates? I love her style!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed watching the video clips Wish we could see your whole family a
ReplyDeleteagain.
I thought that as Christians they would be less focused on their outward appearance.
ReplyDeleteChristians are still humans. We still want to look nice. Read Song of Solomon. It's all about attraction.
DeleteI think though they don't say so but I believe they want their clothes to be modest. As Christians we need to wear clothing that is pleasing to the Lord.
DeleteI really don't see them obsessed with their looks though. They just want to look presentable and not frumpy. And I don't think they want to look like hobos (despite what Jessa says :)).
DeleteIt would be more sinful to be slovenly.
DeleteTaking good care of yourself shows a good attentive attitude.
DeleteYou can be a Christian and be pretty. Liking clothing and fashion. The two are not mutually exclusive
DeleteI agree
DeleteI am addressing this to every 20-something woman out there: HEM YOUR SKIRTS. Long skirts should not drag on the dirty, wet, nasty ground. Thank you. This has been a public service announcement. In other words, those long skirts are not only a hazard, but they get filthy, too. If you can't sew, take them to a tailor and have them taken up an inch or two! They can still be long but not drag. Uggggh, a pet peeve! Had to get that off my chest. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe video is fine ,but it would have been nicer to include Jana,Jill and Joy-Anna. They all have a style of their own. I hope next time Jessa and Jinger include their sisters. Leaving others out can cause hurt feelings. Who decided Jessa and Jinger are the authorities on fashion?!
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
I was really hoping the Duggar girls would have given more of a tutorial on how to match certain pieces, jewelry, etc...I'm not good at it and would love to know their thought process, practically speaking, while thrifting.
