Jeremy at the Jeweler

Another week is underway, which means another new episode of Counting On! Tonight's segment is appropriately called "A Big Surprise," as Jeremy Vuolo makes an unexpected visit to Arkansas. But before meeting up with Jinger, Jeremy makes an important stop at White's Jewelry, the shop where Jim Bob & Michelle, Jill & Derick, and Jessa & Ben have all purchased rings.

Accompanied by Jim Bob Duggar and Ben Seewald, Jeremy ends up finding the perfect ring, but he's not sure whether he should purchase it quite yet, as the couple has only been courting for a short time (promo video below).

Also on tonight's episode, the Seewalds receive a visit from FLAME and his wife.

  1. Jinger is simple but elegant? What kind of thing is that to say about a woman, that she's simple?

    1. Simple is a lot better than when he called her meek. He said it was one of the main reasons he loves her.

    2. Don't be on the defensive so easily. Simple simply means shes not a diva or that she doesn't "expect" things from people.

    3. That is a compliment. It means her taste is refined, that she doesn't like a showy ring. It has nothing to do with the mind. Have you never heard the expression, simply elegant? It means classy.

    4. The only time it's bad to be described as simple is if you're using the meaning that someone is mentally deficient. Otherwise, it can mean a person who's not demanding, or who likes things that aren't frou-frou or gaudy(which is what Jeremy meant). "Simple but elegant" is a common phrase used to describe something classic, like a basic black dress and pearls.

    5. She's not simple anyway: her outfits are always super accessorized and there's always so much more going on with her than with her sister.

    6. It means she doesn't need expensive, over-the-top things to be happy in her life. I see it as a compliment.

    7. The Duggars sure do need expensive things to be happy! They are far from the family they were and the family values they had when this show began.

    8. Hah! Jeremy's going to think simple when he gets that first thrift shopping bill!

    9. Where do some commenters on here come from? He was complementing her.

    10. 9/21 @ 2:37-- How do you know this that the duggars "sure do need expensive things to be happy"--do you know the family personally, have you sat down with any of them and personally asked them what makes them happy in life? If not, then how do you personally know what makes each family member happy within the Duggars?

    11. What's wrong with meek?! The Bible says the meek shall inherit the earth. Know your Bible, folks.

  2. YEAH, IT'S SHOWTIME!!! Us fans will watch and unfortunately the trolls will too, just to then criticize, but then again their viewership just adds to the ratings...so thanks for that😉

  3. I can't wait for tonight's show. I love Jinger and Jeremy.

  4. So, if he's not ready to get engaged, why did he stop and look at rings? Doesn't make any sense.

  5. Is there an online option to view full episodes when you don't have cable TV?

  6. Jinger's ring is beautiful and I'm happy for her. I do find it a bit funny that these men think they've picked out the ring because they say it reminds them of Jill/Jessa, but both Jill and Jessa described to Ben and Jeremy exactly what they wanted. Now I'm in the jewelry business ( I , too, sell engagement rings) and I'm a firm believer in the girl having exactly what she wants because she's the one wearing it so it should never really be a "big surprise" as I've seen to many surprises gone wrong. You might say all were "surprised" and some of those tears weren't tears of joy --LOL!! I'm wondering why they don't just shop together as a couple! Is that against their denominational rules? Anyway, it's lovely:)

  7. What is Biblical about diamond solitaire engagement rings?

    1. Absolutely nothing, it is simply tradition. The Bible says nothing for or against them.

      God bless

    2. What is Biblical about a diamond solitaire ring? Nothing per se. Diamond engagement rings didn't even become "the norm" until the DeBeers slogan " a diamond is forever" started. But...I'm sure happy it did as I personally love diamonds! Every few years my husband gets me a new wedding set because I enjoy it so much. ( He gets a newer, bigger flat screen tv--LOL)! We've been going strong for nearly 25 years---so my long-winded answer. Nothing Biblical, but sure is pretty😀

    3. Not much, if you factor in the history of the diamond business and all the travesties that have occurred while mining these chunks of compressed carbon.

  8. Being married, I love the rings that my husband picked out for me because he thought of me wearing it, no matter the cost or the style. Reality-wise, people work on a budget, even for life-changing events. For him to pick out something beautiful that he can afford and that the lady can joyfully accept is complementary, and a principle in decision-making which makes marriage thrive.

  9. Very happy to see the Duggar Family back on TV. With the distasteful shows on TV now this family is a blessing. I'm sorry for so many negative remarks from viewers who critize the family, but if we had more
families like them this country wouldn't be in state it is in, even tho
Josh has done the things he has, there is forgiveness if we are sincerely repenting. God bless all of you.

    1. Families with the types of problems the Duggars have had will make this country not be in the state it's in? I don't follow that logic at all.

    2. I think what the original poster means is if the country had more families who live like the duggar family, MINUS anything about Josh, set that aside, if more families lived like the duggar's example, living the best way they know how to according to the bible and to God,praying, asking Jesus Christ into their hearts to lead their life, people would be better off in this country and the world actually.

    3. No person is perfect, Christian or not. However Morality based on something will almost always produce better results than morality based on nothing. I think the OP's point is valid. When your morality is based on a God that is never waving it produces a rock solid standard of right and wrong. Morals that are based on nothing (atheism) are subject to the fluidity and faulty mind of man, thus producing an ever falling sinful society. This is what we are seeing today in America. However, sadly statistics still show that 83% of the United States identify as some sect of Christianity. I say that is sad because of the current state of America, when the good fail to act on their own convictions society loses and often those good individuals lose their convictions. This is still an overwhelmingly Christian nation. I think most have lost touch with God and His word.

      God Bless.

  11. Was Jeremy raised as a Catholic?

  12. Why was JimBob at the store?

  13. Sweet he made effort to find a Ring he liked and hopefully she would too.
That doesn't always happen. Simple can be a compliment coming from the right man and totally confusing to the wrong man when you agree.😀

  14. I think Jinger and Jeremy are a very sweet couple, but I find it rather bizarre that when shopping for engagement rings Jeremy sought the opinion of Jinger's dad, instead of the opinion of one of her sisters, or maybe her mom. It seems to confirm that Jim Bob is a controlling as many believe him to be.

  15. I remember watching Jeremy ask JimBob for permission to court Jinger. Have I missed the episode where Jeremy asked JimBob for his daughters hand in marriage? I thought he would ask first before buying a ring.

  16. I wonder if Jinger is aware that diamonds are harvested by child slaves. Sad that we value human life so little, just so our finger can sparkle. Is that Christian?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wonder if Jeremy realize that there are very nice jewelry stores in Texas. The ring had to come from the same store as his soon to be in laws!! Wow control and freebies can make you do some things. I wonder how his father feels about that.

  18. I'm really enjoying these shows. So excited for Jinger and enjoyed seeing Flame and his wife visit the family. Jana's garden is inspiring!!

  19. Given that the Duggar kids were NEVER allowed to even listen to Contemporary Christian music growing up I would LOVE to know what Jim Bob and Michelle think of Flame? I bet he won't ever be invited to Dinner at Jim Bob and Michelle's house! They wouldn't want the younger Duggars to hear anything involving rap, Christian or not! lol
