Nice to see all the girls out shopping together and having a nice time..... Can't wait for next Tuesday night to see the next show......
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see them meeting for lunch during the workday together.
DeleteThat's very judgmental of you, and it implies women don't have value unless they work, as if bringing up a family and maintaining a proper household isn't a full time job in itself, or just being a wife or mother or even daughter doesn't have value in and of itself. I find that very sexist and offensive. To each her own, live and let live, their life journey is their own. Your truth is no more valid than anyone else's. Pick your liberal mantra, then apply it...liberally.
DeleteSo you'd rather see their children cared for by someone else, not their own mothers...
DeleteThere's no more important job than being a mother.
DeleteThe thing is, some working mothers have a choice. These girls have no choice. Born into a system where you are expected to achieve marriage and motherhood, no choice. Who took their rights away?
DeleteMother and fathers can care for their children while working too! There are schools, so the children have an occasion to develop their social skills and learn from professionals...
DeleteYou can be a loving mother and wife while working a job. It's not one or the other.
DeleteThere's no more important job than being a mother? What about being a father? Or just a (gender-neutral) parent? Your statement completely ignores the fact that women are the ones who are expected to lean out of all arenas -- political, religious, economic, anything that involves power or leadership -- in order to change diapers. This absence of women in leadership roles is why the world is in the poor shape it is in. Look around...men being in charge for the last 4,000 years has not done anyone any favors. I'd much rather see the Duggar women meeting for lunch during the workweek, too.
DeleteI'm a woman, and I believe the opposite. Since women have started putting career before family, our world has gone downhill. That's not to say that women can't work and even have leadership roles, but when we start putting our jobs before our families, our families suffer.
Delete"Since women have started putting career before family, our world has gone downhill." I find that statement very offensive. My grandmother was widowed at age 35 and had to work to support her children. Some women have no choice about working. You make it sound as if working women have purposely turned their backs on their families and that's the reason the world has gone to pot. Far from it!!!!
DeleteWoman should make the best choice for themselves. Not all women should stay home. Some have talents in certain areas and should absolutely be well educated and contribute to society. Think about what you are saying. If all women stayed home and only took care of house and children, then we'd have no women nurses, doctors, teachers, attorneys, congresswomen, astronauts, social workers, etc. That's ridiculous - we all benefit from women in these roles.
DeleteMaggie, as a feminist, I believe you are entitled to believe the opposite. But it's patently untrue that 'our world has gone downhill' (What does this even mean? There is less violence now and more hope for freedom and equality than ever.).
DeleteWomen having careers doesn't mean that their families take second place. The same is true for fathers with careers...you don't expect their families automatically to take the backseat to the father's career, right? I hope not! Women are capable of performing the same balancing act between their families and careers that fathers have always had the leeway to.
Women in 50% leadership roles inside and outside of the home is crucial to the health of the world. Studies have shown that the children of educated and careered single mothers by choice, are better off by several measures than the children of the average heterosexual married couple.
Believe in yourself and in other women! We are quite capable of caring for ourselves and our families with or without partners, and with or without careers.
Well said! I'm proud of the fact that I am helping to support my family;my husband is too. They are my first priority but not my only priority. I believe God gave us a brain for a reason. Every woman should be able to take care of herself and not just sit around waiting for a man to come along
DeleteYou ladies look like your having fun Jill I'm so glad your back with your family I hope you stay people in America need help too luv the show
ReplyDeleteSo good to see Anna. Hope all is well with her and Josh.
ReplyDeleteOops, Jinger forgot to hide her engagement ring.
ReplyDeleteWhy would she hide it? I'm confused.
DeleteAnna and Jill are hiding their bellies!
DeleteLeslie, I hope not! Jill should worry about zyka virus and Anna about her marriage, so babies shouldn't be in the cards for either of them right now.
DeleteThey always do that. It's supposed to add "suspense ". Like a lot of things it's getting old.
DeleteWhy should she hide her engagement ring?
DeleteEvertime Jessa get pregnant, Anna always follows I think Anna needs to let the Jessa have her year.
DeleteI'm glad I didn't have cousin near by is was always nice to go visit them.
Last time Anna sas pregnant well before Jessa even conceived!
DeleteEvery time Jessa gets pregnant, Anna always follows? You do know Jessa has only been pregnant one time before this, right?
DeleteI don't think Anna and Jessa are hiding their bellies. Where would you suggest they put their hanging clothes? On top of the kids? Just enjoy the picture, don't "read in to everything you see"!
DeleteSo good to see everyone looking so great and happy!!!
ReplyDeleteRight now my life is upside down for the same reasons as Anna was. I want to try to fix my family but I'm not sure if my husband feels the same way. Please all who read this pray for my husband, my five children and I.
Yes I'll pray for u! God bless u sweetie:)
DeleteI will be praying for you!
DeleteI will pray for you and your family. May God answer your prayers Amen
DeleteI will pray for you! What's your name? I hope you do the best for your own happiness and your children's. I hope you consider all options and have the possibility to choose the best one, without sacrificing your own happiness and wellbeing. Parents tend to do that, sacrifice themselves for their children, but you need to take care of yourself as well. Best wishes!
DeleteI'm so sorry to read this and will be praying for you.
DeleteI'm so sorry and will also pray.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear of your situation. My family is going through some similar troubles also. Please know God loves your entire family and He wants to restore your marriage. I will keep your family in my prayers. God needed to isolate my father so that he could get right with Him. It has been 10 years, but I've seen the Lord working in his life through emails. Be patient for He is God and He works all things for good. It might seem odd, but through these times God has brought blessings to my family in this situation. I wouldn't be the man I am today had this not happened.
Delete"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
God bless you and yours
Prayers for you and your family!
DeleteI've been there. Unfortunately my husband wouldn't change but all things are possible with God's help. Your husband has to want to change and be willing. Don't just stay for the kids they would rather be from a broken home then living in one. Speaking from experience. I wanted my parents to separate because all they did was argue and they both were miserable. I will be praying for you and i sincerely hope your marriage can be saved.
DeleteThank you ...
DeleteYeah, the choice is yours but he has to want to change, otherwise he will keep you in this situation forever. And in this case a separation could be a new beginning to a peaceful co-parenting, while keeping children in a sad situation could cloud their happiness too.
DeleteYou're in my prayers!
You and your family will be in my prayers. I hope you do what's right for you and your kids. Pray and let God lead you. You'll never go wrong.
DeleteThank you again to everyone. Your kind words truly give me comfort.
DeleteAffair Recovery Austin, TX. Go to an EMS weekend. it is a faith based program. It's wonderful. My husband and I went through it and are still together. God's grace is the reason we are still together, but I think he led us to AR as part of the process. I'll be praying for you. It is not an easy thing to live through.
DeleteGreat the girls can enjoy some time together. I'm sure Jill appreciates being able to shop after being in Central America.
ReplyDeleteWe saw her down there at a mall, at a Wal-Mart, at a big Costco-like grocery store...
DeleteThank you. Anna is such a blessing. She exemplifies the godly wife. She has truly taken up her cross to follow Jesus and died to her flesh to put her children's welfare first and stand in the gap for her husband and her marriage. God bless you Anna all the days of your life! I am 61 years old and you are an inspiration to me and many others.
ReplyDeletedid anna change her hair?i love it and i like jill and the others:)
ReplyDeleteAnna looks like she has lost a lot of weight
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of Anna, Jill, Jinger & the two little ones Meredith & Israel. Love love 💕💕to see what they are all up to thank you so much for sharing this photo it's sweet to see them all and Anna looks fabulous-as they all do of course. I Miss seeing them on tv. Though Countjng In is awesome!! 😊 I really wish 19kids and counting was to come back to our screens. From a fan in Australia 🇦🇺 Tanya G
ReplyDeleteAnna doesn't look too well.... hope she isn't pregnant... the poor thing deserves better!
ReplyDeletePlease do not refer to a human being as a thing.
Delete"Poor thing" is a common expression of endearment; it is not akin to calling a person a thing.
Delete5:02, It's just an expression. 10:35, I found no offense in your statement.
Delete??? It's a term of endearment....
DeleteYeah, it's like saying "sweetie". Anonymous meant well!
DeleteAnna looks Beautiful, AND, she has an abundance of class, and wisdom! I loved her hair long too!
DeleteHave they ever talked about clothes shopping in regular stores, or do they only shop at thrift stores?
ReplyDeleteJinger was photographed in NY with an H&M bag in her hand.
DeleteAna looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis family is truly a blessing for all of us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Anna is losing some weight. She looks good.
ReplyDeleteHow old is this pic? I thought we already saw Jinger in that dark blue shirt.
ReplyDelete...maybe the shirt is the same; but the engagement ring is new!!!😯💍
DeleteCute! Keep in mind what Jim Bob said, that Jinger shops so much that Jeremy may need a second job to support her. They might want to cut back a little. Yes, it's cheaper, but not necessarily if you are increasing the number of items you would normally buy.
ReplyDeleteJinger can get her OWN job to pay for this!
DeleteWeren't thrift stores created to help the poor, those who need things but can't afford to pay full price? I don't think the duggar kids who are now making over $100,000 per year doing the show should shop there. Maybe it's just me but I feel like they are taking things that poor people need. I've noticed in my community too, there are sometimes what I consider bargain shoppers rather than people who are in need there (look at some of the cars in the lot and how people are dressed).
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, yes, there are some people who don't need to be shopping at thrift stores, and some people who have that as their only choice. On the other hand, the stores need to move out inventory, a sale is a sale, and many stores use the money to fund their charitable programs. So, mixed feelings. But I agree, the Duggars are well beyond "needing" to shop in a thrift store. And they have so many clothes that they can't even put them all in the closet in the girls' room, so they have racks! Unless they're doing something else with that closet and the clothes got kicked out?
DeleteThrift shops are open to anybody, and you're actually helping support those in need by shopping there. A lot of thrift stores donate part of their gains towards helping those with special needs. So no, thrift stores aren't only for "the poor," but shopping there is a great way to help support the poor.
DeleteI've always found that thrift shopping is the best because it is less wasteful . The fashion industry is one of the most wasteful industries in the world. Also a lot of thrift stores use profits to help those in need, not just products
DeleteIt's Duggars motto of "Buy used save the differnce."
DeleteAnother reason for thrift shopping is for sustainability purposes. The production and shipment of new clothes consumes a lot of fossil fuels. By buying used clothes instead of new, you reduce your carbon footprint. Additionally, a lot of clothes are not manufactured in ethical ways. By not buying new clothes, you are not supporting that practice.
DeleteThe poor is helped through donations and purchases. They help the poor when they purchase items from the thrift store. The money is used by the Salvation Army, for example, to buy food and other items such as blankets.
DeleteIt's America.....you can shop wherever you want. I'm sure the last place a poor person wants to shop in is a place where only the poor can shop. Think about what you are saying.
DeleteI think the Duggar family have just learned to be resourceful. You can find a lot of nice quality items at thrift stores. I understand that the thinking is is that these stores are only for "poverty stricken" people but you would be surprised who actually frequents those stores. It is no secret that the Duggar family is financially blessed via their show, books, appearances, etc.
DeleteI don't think thrift shopping is so much of a necessity for them anymore but more of an adventure. It's exciting to see what you can find at a bargain when the selection changes everyday. I've heard people talk like it's almost a past time.
It looks like they're at a consignment sale.
DeleteThey can shop wherever they want, and it's their money, and they can spend it however they wish. Life isn't fair; some have and some don't. One of the richest ladies in my town, been dead now for a couple of years, dressed as if she were homeless. Her daughter-in-law is almost as bad. They never flaunted their wealth, but there are a lot of people here that want you to think they have money, but it's all credit debt. My brother has been in some of their homes, two-story mansions, working on appliances, and he said they will have one room for guests that is extravagantly decorated, while they sleep on mattresses on the floor. Nothing but show.
DeleteRe-sale shops and thrift stores all are NOT for the poor only! There are re-sale stores where you can purchase high end furniture, clothing, purses etc. I think you're mis-informed. Try shopping re-sale. It's a lot of fun! Sorry to hear you don't like a bargain!
DeleteLily & Ellie,
ReplyDeleteCan you post your policy on posting comments? Half the time my comments are not posted even though they are not disrespectful or vulgar? Why?
Looks like Jinger is going to have to get a second job to support her habit, not Jeremy! I wish someone would have pointed this out when they were all sitting around the lunch table picking on Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteThrift store shopping is not exactly shopping at Saks! They'll be just fine. Remember, Jinger has a pretty good income from TLC and her books.
DeleteGood point!
DeleteHonestly, I don't believe every comment Jim Bob makes is meant to be taken this serious and literal. Their family jokes around and laughs, which is good for a family... To not always be so stiff, judgmental & harsh like many people posting comments on here. I pray you all find peace and joy in the Lord and that the bondage of judgment and picking apart every little thing in other's lives gets broken. We really need less of that in this world and more love and positivity.
DeleteI'm sure she would love to own a photography business. Also it was just Jim Bob trying to be funny.
DeleteYes! Jinger should get a job. I would feel so pathetic if I just sat home and was supported by my husband.
DeleteYes I "feel so pathetic" caring for the kids, homeschooling them, taking them to appointments, practices, games and work, cleaning the house, cooking the meals, doing the laundry, mending, not mention taking care of the animals and garden. Stay at home wives/mothers don't just sit at home, lol. Pretty sure we do as much as any professional.
DeleteI don't think it's fair of people to be speculating about Anna having facial injuries. If you look at the full size pictures, it's quite possible it's just the lighting.
ReplyDeletePoor Israel's bare toes are going to get caught in those stroller wheels.
ReplyDeleteWhy is a child old enough to run barefoot to begin with?
DeleteBecause he can!
DeleteAnna looks great; love her new hair style!
ReplyDeleteI just wonder what josh is doing all day long? how does he support his family. I would really like to hear from him. time to come out of hiding?
ReplyDeleteThrift stores were created to help keep good stuff out of landfills. To say only poor people should shop at thrift stores is just plain wrong. And to the Anonymous at 5:28 I'm sorry you are going through a rough time. And yes I will pray for you and your family. If possible find a sister at church who can come along side you and pray for you on a regular basis.

ReplyDeleteNot being able to control your shopping shows a distressing lack of character. Hope Jim Bob wasn't saying that Jinger's shopping habit is out of control.
ReplyDeleteHe was making a joke but threw his daughter under the bus in the process.
DeleteEvery man makes jokes about women's shopping habits: it's stereotypical and in this way it's annoying, but I wouldn't read too much into it.
DeleteThat was how I took it, that her shopping is more like an addiction, and it an expensive habit he won't be able to afford on his salary.
DeleteThrift shopping is the in thing to do. Inmho it would be far more comforting and inviting to see this family worshipping on tv, helping others etc. instead of doing mundane things like shopping for themselves over and over. These episodes lately have seemed so forced. I really liked it when the direction of the show focuses on their faith and beliefs.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. The show portrays them as stars because a mundane thing like the ordinary person shopping is not TV worthy. This show has lost the ministry element.
DeleteAbsolutely! They never talk about their faith any more other than very, very general comments about praying for a husband, someone is a blessing, etc. Very generic statements.
DeleteLove your show keep up the good work cute babies.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see Anna has lost weight!
ReplyDeleteWhy?
DeleteWhy? Because it bothers you when a woman who just had a baby looks like she just had a baby?
DeleteBesides having baby weight, there are many different body types, some people are just chubbier than others! And that's perfectly ok, beauty comes in all shapes and colors!
DeleteNo, because it's nice to see she's able to take time for herself and not just be slave to her husband.
DeleteI never thought she was overweight??
Deletei know we are all entitled to our opinions. But, can't we just enjoy this blog for what it is and stop being so nitpicky about everything the Duggars do. They are entitled to shop where they want, eat what they want, call replacing wiper blades what they want, etc. Ask yourself if you really want to be the kind of person that finds fault in everything others do!
ReplyDeleteI thought we were supposed to discuss the Duggars here? And that means everything they do, no matter what your opinion!
DeleteI agree with you 100% and I wish more people felt this way! Just because something's not exactly what YOU would do doesn't need you need to post negative comments!
DeleteTo not point out our true feelings is pointless. Then why not just moderate comments and only post the glowing ones. Is this a real blog or not? Then we should be able to say the good and bad and hopefully it's helpful to them and TLC to know how they are perceived.
DeleteThat's just silly. How would you like someone going around pointing out everything you do, say, or wear that doesn't agree with their personal opinion? It doesn't matter if they're famous or not. Second guessing someone else all the time is a way of making us feel better about ourselves at the expense of someone else. That's not a "right," that's a personal flaw.
DeleteI'm not huge Jim Bob fan, but that was clearly a joke. Besides, thrift shopping is inexpensive.
ReplyDeleteIt's not inexpensive when you do it all the time or buy massive quantities. Notice how the girls' clothes no longer fits in their closet, even through 2 of the girls have moved out. They are going a bit overboard on shopping, which led to Jim Bob's comment.
DeleteNice day of shopping. Looks like a good time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
Just curious: whom is taking care of Anna's other children? Is Josh living with her and their children full time?
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Jim-Bob said that Jinger shops to much. Jinger won't last in Texas that long she can't be away from her sidters.
ReplyDeleteAnna looks beautiful! Stay strong lovely, you are a blessing to so many. Know that as you are an inspiration to those around you, you also have many people supporting you.
ReplyDeleteAnd for everyone who is posting negatively on this blog. Can you imagine the change that could occur if you spent half the time you spend tearing others down on building them up? This family is human, meaning that they, like all of us, are imperfect and make mistakes. But they have good intentions and kind hearts which makes them worthy of respect and warmth in my book.
Yes, but when you are paid to be on tv and have made millions of dollars as a family, it comes with the territory. Don't be naive to think they haven't weighed the comments against the paychecks and decided it's well worth it. These aren't private people we comment on - they are reality tv stars who sell their time/show their lives for American tv for goodness sakes!!!
DeleteI agree with the others the show has lost its faith focus. It has become a true reality show wearing modest clothing , thrift shopping, mini golf, staying in a pricey camping van, buying a diamond, having a wedding can mirror just about anyone's.life.
ReplyDeleteAmen. How is this different than Jon and Kate + 8 with all their trips and activities? Just a bigger family? No more mention of their faith or religious discussions. Whose choice is that? Their faithful viewers will stay but the impression it used to leave to trust god and have hope has faded since the shows created post-josh scandal. Sad. That could have been an opportunity to focus more on faith but I can understand it may just be too painful or not wanting the public focus.
Delete
