Cousin Amy Mentions "Baby Talk"

Duggar cousin Amy (Duggar) King and husband Dillon King celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Tuesday. The couple said their "I dos" at Horton Farms in Gravette, Arkansas, last September and then jetted off to Cancun, Mexico, for a two-week honeymoon.

In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine this week, the Kings reveal that they have toned down their party life. Amy says that she and Dillon have "switched out from nights on the town to sweatpants and a movie."

The couple also shares a statement that will surely cause excitement among Amy's 19 cousins:

"Our first year has been really fun. Our goals for next year are to travel the world and fall further in love with each other! Who knows? There might even be some baby talk."

  1. I love your show and would love for you to stay on. One word of advice..suspense! Please use suspense to captivate your audience. For example, with jessa pregnant, that could of waited a few more storylines to come out. I wish the writers would have said one of the married women is pregnant, can you figure out which one? Let your audience play along sort of thing. That always scores big ratings. It is fun to guess and for discussions on forums. I guess letting your fans speculate on certain things would do you and the storylines good. It gets boring if we know everything before the show even airs. Remember subtle hints and guessing games are good for the mind too.

    1. These are real people, not characters in a fictional show! They should have to hide big news about their life for the sake of "plot lines." Of course, they already do time the announcements to bring in viewers for each season, but to expect them to hide these things until it can air in a TV episode is just even more ridiculous.

    2. It's filmed too far in advance to hide a pregnancy...the show is great just the way it is.

  2. I agree with that. I think the timing of the episodes, but don't reveal everything in the commercials the week before. That gives it all away, and then by the time episode comes on, we've seen most of it.

  3. ATTENTION TLC, WATCH THE BATES ON UP AND SEE HOW TO PRODUCE A SHOW, YOU LOST YOUR MOJO.

  4. It takes more than "guessing games" to keep a TV show afloat. The Duggars are simply too predictable and unable to project to the viewers that they have any enthusiasm for the cameras. The adjective that comes to mind is 'awkward.' I think they should find another source of income.

  5. I disagree. I think TLC is doing a disservice to the Duggars by dragging things out so long, teasing about sensational things that aren't true. TLC also likes to make people look ss strange as possible. And it would make for a more enjoyable show if they would didn't repeat things ove and ovet. Every 2 seconds we heard "Jinger misses Jeremy and doesn't want to be at survival camp." Some of that is fine, but it would have been interesting to learn more about the camp and what they will do with the skills. And Jessa giving away her baby clothes when she is pregnant and planning a big family seemed unusual. TLC, please show us real life, believable activities like the Bates family does.

    1. I so so SO 100% agree with you! They need to channel the Bates! Everything about that family feels genuine! Last season I stopped tuning in about 3 or 4 episodes in cause I got annoyed with Jinger "coyly" smirking everytime she was asked about a courtship. It would of been better if she'd just said she was talking to someone but they weren't ready to make things official. For a family that had unfortunately gotten a reputation as being shady over the last few years I think it would go a long ways to repair their reputation if they started being more blunt/ upfront about things. Besides who likes hearing/ seeing things play out 6 months after the fact? Pretty sure Jill was pretty far into her pregnancy by the time we saw her wedding. It's confusing and makes it difficult to feel connected to them.

    1. I don't think TLC's heart is in this show any more. I'm convinced they are purposely trying to show the dullest activities and snagging onto every opportunity to make the kids look goofy (this week was Jinger's turn). I get the feeling the only ones who want this show to go on are Jim Bob and the Discovery Network CEO. The show's actual producers and cameramen are probably going, "Oh no, not again..." The ratings are tanking. One catch-up show a year would be plenty and probably have whopping ratings. But week after week after week of an hour of "nothing"... Well, that isn't doing it.

  7. I think the "suspense" suggestion wouldn't be a good thing at all. This is not supposed to be a TV Show, but a reality show about this "non-TV family." We are already tired of the winky, wink eyes, when they are asked a direct question and not getting an answer.

    1. I agree. They already do too much suspense for nothing...remember the life changing episode last year

  8. I like suspense as well as long as it is done in a reasonable fashion. The silly things they go wink wink at as the above poster said, really can be obnoxious. True plots/storylines I can see not revealing every detail before the show airs. Why watch if you already know the outcome?

  9. Does anyone know what Amy & Dillon are doing these days? Are they both working? Did she drop her idea of being a singer?

  10. Just glad Amy is doing well and marriage is happy.
I'm also glad they are taking time to strengthen their relationship before having a child.

  11. I love Amy and would like to see her added to the show. She brought some reality to the Duggars, but maybe it was too much for them or they are afraid she will overshadow some of them?

    1. Adding Cousin Amy again would not be a good idea. They'd spend the whole time focusing on what she was trying to do to upset the apple cart and steal the limelight, and then Jim Bob would try to explain it and laugh it off when you know he'd really be mad.

    2. She was pretty outspoken about being upset with Josh during that fiasco (growing up her and Josh seemed pretty close so while it came across in interviews as anger I think she was more hurt) and I suspect the Duggars put up some distance because of that. I agree it's sad though cause she added a realistic link.

  12. I love Amy! She's a godly women yet knows how to have fun and is more relatable than the duggars(just my opinion). I loved her wedding, her bridesmaids dresses were also so pretty and also modest.I would love If Amy made an appearance on TLC.

  13. I watched a past episode of 18 kids and counting or something about Amy and duggars. The boys said Amy was not like them and it kinda shocked me to be honest. She's a godly women but has dated and wears pants etc. How is that different? Amy is a great role model in my opinion.

  14. I loved Amy and Dillions (unsure on spelling) Wedding. I also found it very respectable when she said she waited until after duggars left before she brought out music, dancing and drinks. I honestly can't imagine the duggars doing that. God bless Amy and her husband.

  15. Amy looked so beautiful at her wedding. It's so nice she included the younger duggars as flower girls. I'm abit surprised that the duggars all dressed so casual, it wouldn't hurt to dress up for someone's wedding! When looking through photos they all stand out..

    1. Yeah, exactly, me too I noticed how they dress normally at weddings, as they would on an everyday basis... I mean, I don't think they don't have the money to buy a couple of cute dresses or shirts each, to alternate at weddings!

  16. I love Amy also. She is spontaneous and full of life! She doesn't fit the mold; refreshing.

  17. Where is Mary Duggar presently living? If not with Jim Bob, etal, why not?
Where are Josh and Anna living at this time? These are direct questions that are not offensive and deserve a true answer. Thank you.

    1. Yes, these are direct questions and, no, they are not offensive. They are also not any of our business.

    2. to sept 10 @ 8:12am, of course we as viewers are naturally curious and would like an answer to these questions. You saying its "not any of our business" is silly. We are viewers of a very long run show and many have watched this show from the very beginning of them filming. So if you ever have just a general question you want an answer to about this family just remember "its not any of your business."

  20. I would tune in the show just to see Amy! She is so refreshing and upbeat. What you see is what you get!

  21. Wow, so many many of us fans are on the same page saying the same things about the show and it's loss of appeal, amongst other things... AND how their heart and TLC heart is clearly not into it anymore...and yes, comparing the Bates show is like...The days of ole'. When "19 Kids" first started, those were the good old days...such a shame...such a shame. All good things must come to an end. So, I'm afraid my dears that if things don't drastically change soon us Duggar fans love affair with this big incredible family will most likely end after this season. Blessings

    1. I believe the show was on the way out early last year. The scandals actually gave it a bit of a temporary boost. Death is inevitable.

  22. Totally agree I wanna know the hard questions since they once said it's not a show it's their real life all the fame over the years.. I agree where are Josh and Anna where Mary duggar? How are the neweleyweds how do the older kids ask the questions to their parents on courting let the older kids talk about the Bible and their faith like they used to instead of always saying convictions all the time answer all the questions when the producers ask. Lots of more they can talk about

    1. Agreed Agreed Agreed!!! You brought us into your life and if TLC is going to continue it, you can't drop people at your convenience and not expect the viewers to ask. What's the harm in asking about Mary or Anna or Amy. After the Jinger wedding, if Jana or Joy-Anna doing start courting, this is going to nosedive unless they bring in Amy or start spilling the beans on what all the adult children do all day and how they plan to support themselves (and a family, if the boys ever marry).

  23. The entire discussion of their faith has disappeared from discussion. Is that their choice or TLC? What exactly is this about now? Just a big family? I liked it better when they were little. I'm sad the kids no longer seem to have the drive or motivation I thought they did as young kids.

  24. I can't believe some of the things you people say about this family maybe this world should take the time to Embrace some of their values and our children because it isn't like that in this world anymore it's like parents don't care anymore there's technology and letting his children run around and do whatever they want I would love to be more like them I wish I had their values and faith to raise my children like them I learned a lot from this family and I'm still learning and if you people have anything bad to say why are you even on here if you don't want to watch don't want but everybody does things different why should you ridicule just them look in the mirror
