Spurgeon Seewald Update

Season two of Counting On premieres in less than three weeks! Are you looking forward to the Duggars' return to reality TV?

Spurgeon Seewald is fixin' to turn nine months old in two days. It's hard to believe that the sixth youngest grand-Duggar is just three months away from his first birthday. Check out this cute video...

  1. Spurgeon is so cute! :-)

Question: why does the sign say 'D' behind him?

    1. It's the lower half of a "B" in the word "BOY"

    2. If thats the lower half of a B then where is the top half? Pretty sure that's a D

    3. They could have taken the picture in someone elses home.

      Delete
    4. It is not the lower half of a B in the word BOY. When you watch the video it very plainly is a lone letter D.

      Delete
    5. The top half of the "B" is.out of the picture, just like the rest of the wreath.

    6. No, it's a "D" on the left side and on the right side is the word "boy". Watch the video and you will clearly see. I'm sure it's a hand me down from Anna or Jill.

    7. On the video you can see it's definitely a "D". I'm guessing it's a hand-me-down from her mom.

    8. D for Duggar maybe

    9. Jill and Derek Dillard still have a large home in their area. Maybe this picture was taken at the Dillard home, thus the D on baby Israel's wreath.

    10. Jill & Derick no longer have the original large white house that was worked on before their wedding. That was sold for commercial property. The realtor had pictures of the empty house online, so the Dillards definitely no longer occupy it.

Jim-Bob bought a large house near theirs, and the kids stayed there for a bit before leaving for Central America. Shows were filmed there. It was the house with the dark woodwork, remember seeing that? It's unclear who's living in the house now, or who will be, with Jill & Derick coming home.

So it's possible that this scene was filmed at the "empty" large house for an upcoming show. Isn't the little nursery at Ben & Jessa's house decorated differently than what we see in this clip? So it's probably another case of things left unexplained for filming. But fans watch ALL the details, and inconsistent things like this do pop out immediately. TLC's production staff should realize that and never try to hide things or make things up. Someone will spot it!

    11. Watch the video....it is clearly a "D" and NOT the bottom part if a "B"

    12. Who had the gray chevron baby stuff, Jill or Jessa? I forget.

  2. He looks so much like Jim Bob right now.

  3. That baby boy is just the cutest little thing.

  4. What does Jessa keep laughing at? Was there something funny happening off camera?

    1. I guess she's laughing at her baby... It's a common thing to do, laughing and making verses at infants.

    2. Verses for infants?

  5. I don't understand why putting clothes on a baby is an event worthy of being filmed and aired on TV. It's not something these parents discovered or invented, nor do they do it differently than any other parents. I get the feeling this season is going to be the same as before. TLC is grasping at straws for what to have the kids do for the camera, and will just be filling air time between commercials. One hour-long update probably would have sufficed.

    1. The Duggars like to show the rest of the world how True Christians live their normal, everyday life. They do things like dress their babies. Showing their unique Christian way of life is part of their goal of ministry.

    2. I agree. I love these guys so much, but really silly things like that... idk

    3. I'm afraid you may be right, Top Anony. The first season left a lot of people disappointed. But who knows, maybe TLC got the message and will amp things up this time? Hopefully not with a lot of made-up stuff, though, because the truth about what's really going on always comes out.

    4. There is nothing uniquely Christian about putting clothes on your baby, nor does it convey any ministry message.

    5. 11:15 got your number

Hard to say from a brief scene just what is going on. However, people watch Toddlers in Tiaras, so to each his or her own.

  6. Jessa, Ben, Spurgeon, Seewald...so why is there a big D on the wreath...??? Did we buy used and save the difference? Because Jessa is not supposed to be a Duggar any more. That transfer took place long ago. Ben Seewald is head of her household now. That should be an S, not a D.

    2. No, there's definitely a big white D on the left side of the wreath.

    3. Maybe they are not in their own home in this picture. What does it matter anyway?!

      Delete
    4. Perhaps it is a family hand-me-down. It is smart of a young couple without steady employment to be frugal with their spending.

      Delete
    5. Lol how can you say it's a D when you can't see the top of the letter???

      Delete
    6. Watch video...it is a D

      Delete
    7. Head of household?! What decade are you from? It's 2016, not 1956.

      Delete
    8. Instead of LOLing, watch the video for yourself and see the very clear letter D.

      Delete
    9. Tell that to the IRS. They still use "Head of household" on their forms.

      Delete
    10. Maybe they were at the Dillard's home

      Delete
    11. 8:45PM Anonymous, surely you know the structure of that family and how they have heads of household, the man, who's in charge? It's not 1956, it's 1856.

  7. Super cute. Jessa and Ben look like they're handling parenthood very well! And Spurgeon is beyond adorable!

    1. You can gauge how they are as parents by the way they put a onesie on a baby?

      Delete
    2. I can tell they're handling parenthood well by how much they seem to enjoy Spurgeon. They all seem to be very relaxed and happy.

  8. Looking forward to their show starting back up. I enjoy watching the kids and grandchildren growing up, as we live 1200+ miles away from our kids and grandchildren, looking after my 89 year old Dad for the past three years.....and my health challenges have me homebound. Watching the Duggers eases the sting of pain away from missing them so much.

  9. He's adorable, but I feel sorry for him dressed in those adult clothes. A button up shirt and bow tie? It doesn't look comfortable for a grown man, much less a baby. What's wrong with baby clothes?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Adult clothes obviously would not fit a small baby. These clearly are baby clothes.

      Delete
    2. He seemed very happy in the video. Babies don't "fake it". If Spurgeon was uncomfortable you would have known it lol after having 5 (going on 6) of my own... Babies will let you know if and when they aren't comfortable.

      Delete
    3. Quite often, first parents have fun dressing up their baby. By the 6th or 7th kid, though, they're lucky to remember to put a diaper on him! AMHIK.

  10. He seems like a very happy baby!

  11. He looks just like Jessa. Such a handsome little boy.

  12. Growing up fast. Cute video and guessing he isn't dressed to impress everyday.
Looking forward to the overalls and mud pies.

  13. He's SO cute and SWEET. Those coos and happy baby sounds are great. Thanks for this clip.

  14. I think you made a little mistake. You wrote that Spurgeon is "the sixth youngest grand-Duggar" but that's not correct ;-)
He is either the youngest grand-Duggar or the sixth grand-Duggar since there is no grand-Dugger younger than him as far as I know.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think you meant "6th grandchild", not "6th youngest", since there are no more babies after him. Definitely not trying to be rude, just wanted to point that out!

  16. Is is this supposed to be another "helpful tips" video, like the one with the vegetables? I am afraid this family doesn't give their audience much credit for having any common sense. It's condescending and insulting, really. They could definitely take some pointers from their friends, the Bates. They seem to be able to pull of an entertaining and less scripted show.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Different production company with different ideas about what to film? Or the Bates(es?) really do know how to be genuine and entertaining at the same time. I do like Kelly, despite any differences we may have in various departments. And I agree, the things they're having the Duggars film these days are incredibly mundane and boring.

  17. I'm glad that people eventually stop counting age by months, because mine is way up in the hundreds and changes every 30 days.

    1. It's hard enough trying to remember the number of years! LOL

  18. They must be very limited on what they can film now because of their new contracts with TLC. These past few clips have been nothing interesting at all. We want to hear about trips, homeschooling, the younger kids, updates on Josh and Anna, courtships/weddings, Jill and her fam, etc. not how they know how to dress their baby. I mean that's fabulous they know how but let's hear about things that would interest the audience not tiptoeing around contracts.

  19. What a lovely boy he is ♥ thanks for sharring.

  20. Yes this is cute, but it wasn't really worth the watch. It wasn't eye-opening. It's what parents do everyday! No offence

  21. Happy ,healthy baby, ust like all the rest of the Duggar babies. They all get so much attention and stimulation.

  23. Looking at the video, there is indeed a giant D on that wreath! Wonder if it is something Anna left behind?

  24. We are tired of hearing about the Seewalds. Please stop posting about them so much.

    1. I hope not. She just had a baby less than a year ago. She should give her body a break.

  26. Personally it is interesting to me. I like cute little babies that are so dependent on the constant love and care of their caregivers.

  27. Styling? It's just putting clothes on a baby.

  28. Spurgy is an adorable little boy, I could just squeeze him. And, meredith is a cute little girl. I would like to see a picture of both of them together. Can't wait until the show starts, to see how everyone has changed.
