Jinger: 'I'm Pretty Well Love-Struck'

Did you enjoy last night's episode of Counting On? (Click here to read our recap.) Our favorite scenes were the ones that included Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and the younger Duggar kids, in addition to the older Duggar siblings.

After asking Jinger to enter an official courtship during last week's show, Jeremy Vuolo shares his first meal with the Duggar family. Jim Bob especially enjoys chatting with the new couple (see video below).

  1. I loved seeing all the Duggars together... I miss their regular show.

  2. I don't understand how you can fall head over heels in "true" love with the first guy you ever talked to or spent time with. All the Duggar girls have done this now. No dating. No comparing. No taking your time. No learning what you are and are not attracted to by having experiences with different people. No maturing and learning about yourself in the process. Just latch onto one guy and declare it's eternal love and go buy a dress and send invitations! I felt that giddy about love when I went on my first date at age 15, but boy, was I wrong! And glad that I realized that. Kissed quite a few frogs til I found the prince. At least by that time, I could be sure of what I wanted and what I found. Forty years later, no regrets.

    1. U know every family is different:) Jim Bob said that there were a few guys that were already interested in these girls, it's the girls decision on who she says "yes" to and who she says "no" to...it's not like theyre getting married at 17...they ARE adults already...and we're nobody to judge on how people choose to live their lives. God will do that:)

    2. Most people's first love is the greatest, the cliche "the first love is the deepest" doesn't come from nowhere. Also it's not that the girls don't "test" other guys they are just very careful about who they get into relationships with. All the girls have had guys approach their Dad that they were not interested in and have obviously met other guys and become friends. But lucky them, I think it's sweet to marry your first love!

    3. Its better not to date. Dating for fun is relatively a new idea. The point of dating is to find a spouse , i married the first woman I ever kissed, because marriage is about loving that person no matter what. Or you go just by how micj you are attracted to that person and such, what happens when you are attracted to another a little more ?

    4. Anonymous at 5:45 AM: no one is saying that you should choose your spouse based on only attraction (bad idea!). We're just saying that it's good to have some experience before finding the right one.

    5. That's a bit naive. Throughout marriage--no matter how strong--you will be tempted with people you are more attracted to than your spouse. It's how you handle the temptations that count. It has absolutely nothing to do with marrying the first girl you kiss. My first kiss was in the 3rd grade during the class Valentine party. I assure you I did not feel obligated to marry him!

    6. I am not the original poster, but I am currently 21, in college, and dating a wonderful guy. I am dating not to have fun. I am dating him to see if he's the one God has for me. I have only dated one other guy, and it turns out he was manipulative so I didn't stay in that relationship.

  3. That part about them having chaperones was strange. They are adults. They should be able to control themselves and curb impulses. They do not need chaperones. If you're old enough to get married, then you don't need babysitters.

    1. The wisest, strongest, and most godly men on the bible all fell into sexual sin. Saying they are adults and don't need to be held accountable is like saying they are wiser than Solomon, stronger than Sampson, and more godly than David.

      Delete
    2. Except they wouldn't be "falling into sin" because they wouldn't cheat on anyone. They are a couple (engaged now!).

      Delete
    3. I know many adults that were virgins and have waited until marriage. They did not need chaperones. It's not as hard as you think especially if it's something that you hold close to your heart.

      Delete
    4. It is not the woman's responsibility to keep men from falling into sexual sin. It is the individuals responsibility to handle sexual temptations...and theirs alone.

      Delete
    5. If those men in the Bible fell into such sin, then they really weren't the wisest or the strongest or the most Godly to begin with, were they? How hard is it not to commit the kind of sin we're talking about here? Just say you're not going to do it, and then...don't do it! And if it's agreed to by two people at the same time, then it's twice as strong of a commitment.

  4. It seemed quite obvious from the episode that Jinger is pretty well lust-struck. Raging hormones can be blinding to reality. I hope Jeremy is as nice as he pretends to be. His manner of speech does not come across as genuine but like he's playing a part.

    1. Try being yourself with a 20 person film crew in the room.

      Delete
    2. 1) Their crew is hardly 20 people. 2) Jeremy played professional sports for a time in stadiums full of spectators. 3) Jeremy creates videos of himself preaching for a living. Dude is used to being in the spotlight and specifically on camera. Contrary to being uncomfortable, I would say he craves it.

    3. They grew up with camera people in the room. Can't really use that as an excuse any more.

  6. I enjoyed the show very much, as I always do. There is just not as much content as there used to be. Good to see more of the whole family. I don't think Jim Bob and Michele need to always be in the filming of the older kids.

  7. Yes! My favorite scenes were definitely the ones that included Jim bob and Michelle!
    I really miss their interviews!!!!
I wish we could see more of them...

  8. no, did not enjoy Jimbob, if I wanted an interviewer I would get Matt Lauer.

  9. I enjoyed watching your show last night, I love to see everyone having some fun. I really didn't know how dangerous it really was for Jill and Derick. I really liked its time for them to stay here and do their missionary work. It's much too dangerous for all of them. Please don't go back. Please.......

    1. 1 Peter 2:21 - "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."
2 Timothy 2:12 - "If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;"
Matthew 10:39 "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it."

All over the Bible we see evidence that one way or another we will be hated for knowing Christ. At the end of the day we are called to share the saving grace of Christ to every soul. Many times those whom need saving the most are buried in darkness. Not always, but in this case a physical darkness. God calls us all to our place, this for now seems to be theirs. I pray that the Dillard's, Duggar's and Seewald's continue to pursue God wherever He leads them.

      God Bless

    2. Matthew 10:16
"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."

I love each of my Brothers and Sisters in Christ and share the following feeling from a loving place; for the young child's safety, I pray Derek reconsiders how to lead his family in helping those in volatile homelands without endangering his wife, child, self, and possibly other people that didn't have a voice to decide that area for mission work.

God bless and keep you all.

  10. Why is this still a show? It is the same thing over and over, with
the only difference being another Duggar is courting. Everyone seems
to be very uncomfortable with the camera on them. It appears very stiff
    and rehearsed.

    2. You don't need to watch it to know what's going on, chill dude!

    3. I wish people would do just that, and leave people that really enjoy the show alone to enjoy themselves. I love the show. I'm glad it's on.

  11. I'm so happy that this show is back. I'm glad that they decided to share this special journey with the rest of us. We watched the kids grow up and it's so nice to watch them evolve in their lives.

  12. I saw Jinger and Jana post on Twitter that Grandma Duggar passed away. Is that true?

  14. I LOVED seeing them and having all (well, most) of the family on the show again!! Also am so happy for Jinger and Jeremy who seem so happy! Praying for the happy couple!

  15. Love the show! My brother and is wife courted when they were 24 and 25. It's an accountability thing to make sure you don't do something you don't need to do before marriage. It's an awesome way to date! They are just following their personal convictions and I really wish people would leave them alone! If more people would court then maybe the divorce rate wouldn't be so high just saying! Love the Duggars!

    1. "Courting" before marriage absolutely does not guarantee life will be a bed of roses afterwards.

  16. Love seeing the older kids. No I don't need to see Michelle and Jim Bob. The older kids have a lot to give and enjoy seeing how they handle things are wonderful. They have raised wonderful kids mostly. Just want to see what the show was suppose to show older children.

  17. Is Josie incapable of standing? She is being treated as an eternal baby. Why?????

    ReplyDelete

    1. She's special. I don't know if she has special needs, but she does seem younger than she is. She's the "baby of the family", I think she'll have plenty of time to catch up!

    2. I noticed that, too, and did you catch how Jill (?) Jessa (?) tried to correct her table manners, but she was still caught on camera eating with her fingers. Is there some sort of developmental or sensory issue going on with her, I wonder? More than what they described as her "glitches"? One minute she seems OK and the next, you wonder.

    3. So when someone picks up a kid that's wrong? Do you have children? If so have you ever picked up a 6 yr old or however old she is, just to show love to her? If you don't have children then it may be hard for you relate.

      Delete
    4. What makes it more puzzling is that we were distinctly told that the little kids were not allowed to have physical contact like that with older boys or men who were not their father. This was one of the safeguards in place due to Josh. Has that rule been dropped? Or was it never really a rule in the first place?

      Delete
    5. I always thought Josie has some special need's they don't advertise. Spoon feeding and weak motor skills. As a viewer it's not our business and I'd rather respect their privacy.

  18. As sweet as it is the child must weigh quite a bit now.

  19. It is interesting how Jinger is in LA LA land. This state is likely why the Duggars prefer the courtship process to dating. Once their child has decided to probably marry the person then they lose their sense. If Jinger was just in the early stages of courtship she may have been letting go a bit too much, what if he backed out then? Oh well it is all going great!

  20. I read some advertisers are backing out of the TLC Duggars spots. Those advertisers should realize the Duggars are a popular show with many people and keep their advertising spots!

  21. Jinger and Jeremy make a beautiful couple, with their natural dark hair, they are a perfect match and just look great together. Also their intelligent minds and good personalities seem to be a perfect match.

  23. Yes I noticed that too… She's too big for even Jeremy to hold for any length of time… And Jessa was scolding her at the table for eating with her hands...Is Mama Duggar not keeping up with the younger ones as much as she should....Jana and Joy can't do it all now

  24. YES VERY MUCH i LOVE THE Duggars I hope to see more of them.
