TLC Calls Reports Regarding Josh Duggar 'Absolutely Untrue'

Earlier this week, multiple tabloids released articles with headlines indicating that Josh Duggar would join his siblings on season two of Counting On.

TLC quickly spoke up, as a source from the network told PEOPLE Magazine that the rumors are "absolutely untrue." As we reported last year, TLC announced that Josh would not be part of any future programming.

Season two of Counting On premieres later this summer. We will let you know as soon as the network nails down a date.

  1. I wish the Duggar haters would just back off. There are many viewers that enjoy following the Duggar Family and enough of the nasty rumors and comments. Please stop ruining it for the rest of us. If you don't like the show please just turn the channel, you aren't obligated to watch us but don't ruin it for the rest of us. The Bible tells us that whoever is without sin cast the first stone. I don't know one person who has never sinned so let's just back off.

    1. TV shows come and go all the time. They are the victims of public opinion and ratings.
No one is guaranteed one and neither are you assured that your favorite programs will remain on the air indefinitely. That is the reality of the business.

    2. Well....I mean shouldn't the Duggars not cast stones either, then? To be honest, people who defend them mindlessly always seem to forget that members of the Duggar family did "cast the first stone". Liking a family or a show doesn't mean you have to instantly accept everything they do! And I agree with the other anon, at the end of the day, TLC is a business and their interest in the Duggars depends on what is profitable for them.

    3. Exactly, move on if you don't like them.

    4. Prayers for wisdom for everyone. American society is very abusive in today's world. There is only one sin that God will not forgive when someone repents & that is the sin of blasphemy of the holy spirit. Which is calling God & his holy spirit evil because he can't be evil because he is holy. If we want forgiveness God tells us in his word to being forgiving. I forgave my birth mom for mistreating me because I was a part of my birth father who beat her. My son & spouse would tell you that I tried to have a relationship with her before she passed away but she still pushed me away. I am thankful for the handful of memories that I have with her that are good. Blessings. TLC had an opportunity to teach forgiveness & how to deal with a negative maturely & blew it by rejecting when they wouldn't want to be rejected if they made a mistake no matter how negative it was.
      Matthew 12:31 (KJV)

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

      Matthew 6:14 (KJV)

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

      James 2:10 (KJV)

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

      Romans 3:23 (KJV)

      For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

We all have our faults. which can help us all be more tolerant of each other & more forgiving.
God in today's world would be arrested. Why? Bible scholars believe that the mother of Mary was 14 years old. Yes, 14. Not a typo. In the Jewish world people were called adults at 13. That is why there is the Bar Mitzvah. A young boy has a ceremony into manhood. The Royal family has married their own relatives for 1000's of years & are loved & adored world wide. Even Prince William & Kate are cousins. Prince Charles & Diana were cousins. Prince Charles & Camilla are cousins. Many boys in history have bothered their sisters when curious about girls. An episode of Dr. Quin Medicine Woman in the 1990's had the young male son of Dr. Quin spy on his sister while she dressed out of curiosity. They didn't label him as a bad kid. She talked to him about it & taught him not to do it. Today we are too busy demonizing people to seek solutions to challenges. I am thankful that the Duggar family has been working on their challenges for many years. Prayers for healing for the Duggar family. No offense intended. Hoping to show support & encouragement. We all are God's children. He loves us all even when we disappoint him. God's ways can heal society & heal us all no matter how many mistakes we have made or how bad they were. I agree with the Duggars that mistakes before 18 should have stayed private.

    1. As a fellow reader of the Dugger Blog, I am so sorry for your loss, Marissa. You know your dad is in a better place, but you still grieve because an essential part of your life is gone. It will take a long time to adjust to the new normal. Hang tight to the memories of your dad and the knowledge that he rests with Jesus, as promised.

  9. I don't understand. Josh has paid dearly for his sins. He has asked for forgiveness. has been given forgiveness, so why if we are supposed to forgive why is he still being punished. God says forgive to be forgiven!!

    1. I hardly think that not being on a TV show is a punishment. If Josh were to come back into the public eye, he would only draw more ridicule. His young children do not need this in their lives.

  10. Which is why I've quit watching the show. Show it real and how they are handling what MANY FAMILIES IN AMERICA are handling and I will watch again. Lost respect for them that they've stayed with TLC.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Many families in America do not have to handle what Josh did to his sisters, if that's what you're implying. Perhaps many families in their circle are dealing with similar issues ( JimBob seemed to imply that in one of his interviews), in which case they need to consider why that is and take real steps towards solving those problems. But personally I think having cameras follow around people who are dealing with those issues is incredibly exploitative.

    4. This seems to be a common comment when a male does something very wrong to a female. Yes, it will follow him for the rest of his life. It will also follow the other people he hurt for the rest of their lives. They didn't get a choice in that. But he made his choice and the fact that this will follow him forever is called a consequence of his actions. I certainly understand why people forgive him, but you can forgive someone without having to feel sorry about the consequences of their actions.

    5. So sad for his kids and any other kids it has affected. He should be ashamed and stay in hiding.

  14. Why can't they just leave this family alone?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If the family truly wanted to be "left alone" then they shouldn't be on the air. They chose to be in the public eye and are financially compensated for it. When you decide to be on TV, you give up privacy. You can't have it both ways.

      Delete
    2. Thank you! This is something that so many people with fame don't seem to comprehend. If you invite the public into your lives, then you sacrifice privacy. You can't put yourself in a spotlight and then decide that people don't have a right to have opinions about you.

  25. Lily and Ellie, I have a question. Often, but not always, when I scroll down your site, I see this symbol: /n I don't see it on other sites. I had no idea what it meant so I looked it up on Google. The only explanation that seemed feasible was that the "n" is representative of the symbol Christians put on their doors as the minority religion in countries where they are persecuted, much like the "fish" symbol was used in the fledging Christian Church. Can you tell me if I am making the correct assumption here?

  26. I'm pretty disappointed in this decision. I think the world could use an example of what forgiveness looks like in a Godly family. Let's be honest those who want the show canceled are going to harp on about it whether Joshua is on the show or not. Oh well, all I can do is pray for the Duggar family and the families watching on TLC.

    God bless yall.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You have absolutely no idea how this family is dealing with their issues after the cameras stop rolling. I think the best thing for the Duggars is to stay off of TV entirely and try to regain some sense of privacy. The minor children deserve at least that.

      Delete
    2. You are quite right "Anonymous", I surely do not know how they are dealing with issues off camera. If you do, please feel free to enlighten all of us. Forgiveness does not often mean forgetting. Now considering I've seen no such public statements from the Duggar family that they wish for Joshua to remain off camera. I'm going to go ahead and assume they practice what they preach.

As for their presence on television, again, unless you know otherwise, it is the choice of the family. What the family does and does not deserve is up to the parents. Now I believe that we ought to respect with wishes of Mr. and Mrs. Duggar in their decision making to raise up their children in the environment they believe is most suitable to them.

      God Bless you.

  31. I don't think what josh did was in anyway right but I really think josh should be given the the chance to give his side of the story! Why he felt the need to touch those girls or cheat on Anna! We have only heard one side and statements from his parents! I want to hear what was going on in Josh's head! I've always wondered what drives people to do things like this!

    1. I think Josh has been given the chance to give his side of the story repeatedly! He chooses others to speak for him, repeatedly! So, don't say he should be given that chance, he was!

      Delete
    2. I think that would be rather exploitative of all parties involved- including Josh. People don't need to watch him struggle to explain himself for entertainment (and TLC doesn't need to profit off of it). Not to mention, his victims, his wife, even his children when they get older, might not want to have their pain and private life indirectly exposed like that.

    3. It stands to reason that the best interests of Josh's children would best served if he and Anna avoided any kind of publicity at all. If they are determined to remain married and try to salvage a life together, it should not be fodder for the tabloids. Their kids deserve better than that and it doesn't matter if the fans want to see his face. By the way, I may be a sinner, but I have never even entertained the idea of committing the heinous acts that Josh has. For the sake of his family, I sincerely hope he is addressing his serious psychological issues with professional help.

  45. No one is ready for Josh yet. It is my opinion that Anna for her own sake and the sake of her children should also stay off television until they all heal as a family. She exposes herself and her children to ridicule every time she appears. She needs to protect her children from the public eye.

    ReplyDelete

    1. For the sake of their children, Josh and Anna might consider removing themselves from the public eye forever.

      Delete
    2. That is great advice for them. When people talk about wanting Josh back on the show, they are thinking about what they personally want to see not what is best for this family. It is good to think about WHY you want to see them on TV. They are a real people not a sitcom.

      Delete
    3. Very true
They need their privacy and already paid dearly being in public view.
Focus should be on those precious children, supporting council for both marriage and Josh treatment.

      Delete
  46. I think part of the reason fans (and others) didn't want Josh appearing on any television show is because he would be benefiting financially from the publicity of what he did to his sisters. With the show continuing to pay his family, including Anna, he is still directly receiving money from the show through household income and also from my understanding is being helped by his parents who are also receiving money from the show. I don't think removing Josh from episodes addresses the concern for him earning money from the publicity of abuse.

    ReplyDelete
  47. So many people have made so many good comments, I feel like I'm repeating them, but I do think this is a good decision because
    1. Josh and Anna and his children need time to heal together. I've never heard of somebody whose healing was improved by the pressure of the public eye.
    2. At this point, the conversation is still about what Josh did and if he is allowed to address it on the show he will be profiting off of it. Allowing that sends a message that if you do what he did you will be rewarded in some way for it.
    3. Many people seem to be concerned that he will always be punished for his actions...not having a TV show is NOT a punishment!!! The majority of the people in this world don't have TV shows and we're clearly all fine.
    4. The Duggars chose this, the fame, the publicity, the TV show. No one forced them to sign on again. If they wanted privacy, they could have chosen it. When you invite the public in, everyone will have a different opinion and some of those opinions will not be positive.

I hope they will all heal from this, I hope they will not be afraid to step away from the spotlight if they need to, and that all the minor children as well as Josh's victims will not feel exploited by all of this.

I seen a picture yesterday with the caption "People are outraged over new Duggar family photo with Josh from and center..." Well my opinion is simple this. It doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks Josh is still their Son, Husband, Father, and Brother so obviously is going to be in their FAMILY photos.. He had made mistakes but it's their business so people need to get over themselves....
    I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers;
