    1. That's not what a marriage is about.

    1. Let them just enjoy this season of life of engagement and getting married! I'm sure it's all somewhat overwhelming for them right now, they can have kids when THEY are ready

    2. Producing children and raising them strong in the faith is one of the purposes of marriage.

  4. Congratulations to you Jinger and Jeremy God Bless you with much happiness and love in your marriage and always. Many healthy children very happy for you both. Miss the Duggars and prayers that they are all well.

    1. You already want them to have many children? Wow.

      Delete
    2. Or they might choose to have a few years to them self.

      Delete
    3. It's pretty customary to offer this greeting to young people about to get married.

      Delete
    4. That's what any NORMAL (perhaps not by today's "standards", or rather lack thereof) newly engaged couple looks forward to and what every newlyweds couple wants!

      Delete
    5. I do...hand raised...lots and lots, as they cherish and love them so...the more the merrier...Cheerio😉

      Delete
    6. It's their decision and THEIR'S alone...not yours.

      Delete
    7. No normal people look forward to enjoying a life with their spouse. That's what a marriage is about. If you have children it's just a bonus.

      Delete
    8. Yes but I can hope. 😄 Be fruitful and multiply

      Delete
    9. Normal people realize marriage is about 2 people sharing their life together. It has nothing to do with children .

      Delete
    10. Wow, 2:36PM posted a beautiful wish, and everyone jumped on him/her. This world is truly twisted.

      Delete
    11. Actually, that's what marriage is largely about. Having children. God told Adam and Eve to "Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it" not "Go and enjoy life alone with your spouse." If marriage wasn't largely about having children, then it wouldn't even be as important to the human race. Yes, its wonderful for two people to be able to come together as one and share a life, but its possible for one to go through life as a single person too. But in order for the human race to continue, couples obviously need to be open to having children. They need to be open to children. They are a gift from God. And since we already know how the Duggars love children and how open to life they are ;D then what's wrong with wishing that they have "many healthy children?" :D :D :) :)

  5. So Jinger, if God is answering your prayers, were you also praying for world peace, or the end of hunger and poverty for children, or equal rights for all people in the world, or something other than a shiny new diamond on your hand? Seems odd to be crediting God for putting that ring there, when He (or She) has so many other important issues to work on these days. Why not just say that you met a guy & decided to marry him? Which is totally true. And how can you explain to Jana that the same God she is praying to hasn't brought a man for her yet?

    1. Wow... Wondering why you would have even commented here...REALLY????? I'm not a very religious person but I do have respect for others. I do believe in God and his way.... It makes a lot of people wonder why people go on websites or blogs to bash others.... One thing you might want to remember here Do unto others as you would have others do unto. you.... I'm very sure her family is very happy for her. This has nothing to do with Jana and I'm sure Jana would being saying a prayer for you.....

      Delete
    2. You don't know what God has brought Jana

      Delete
    3. I don't care what your religion is, it always sounds strange when you claim God "gave" you something good. What about all the other deserving people who didn't get what they prayed for? What's the reason for God favoring one person's wishes over another? You wade into muddy waters when you start trying to answer that.

      Delete
    4. Obviously you do not follow the family, God is central to their whole lives, so naturally for a believer in Christ you would say that God provided the guy of your dreams. Christians believe that God is everywhere, all the time for all who believe in Him. He is not so small as to only handle one thing at a time, he is omnipresent.

      Delete
    5. Why would you be so ignorant? They are strong Christians and have faith that God is going to do what He has planned. God answers ALL prayers, however they may not always be the way we want them answered and they are answered in His time, not ours.

      Delete
    6. Wow@ your.comment is completely cynical and uncalled for. Do you feel better now?

      Delete
    7. God doesn't always answer prayers with a yes. Sometimes it's a no, and sometimes it's a "wait" or "I have something better in mind." In this situation, God said yes to Jinger's prayer for a Christian guy. As for world peace and a perfect world, the Bible's pretty clear that won't happen until Jesus returns.

      Delete
    8. It appears that you are mad at God. Have the courage to go to Him and address your personal concerns instead of performing the cowardly act of picking on His people. Congrats Jinger.

      Delete
    9. You need to practice being happy for others. My life isn't all peaches and cream right now, but I can still be happy when others are blessed. Try it. You might feel better.

      Delete
    10. Who says Jana is praying for a man? Maybe she's happy and content being single. Lay off these people with you cold hearted negativity. I'm praying that you find God. I've never seen such hatefulness and what appears to be jealousy. Leave Longer alone she has every right to be thankful for answered prayer and proud of the wonderful man that God has given her.

      Delete
    11. I agree with the idea that it's selfish to pray to God for things for yourself and not for others. And to claim that things you did yourself, good or bad, were God's work is also inappropriate. We are required to be responsible for our own actions.

      Delete
    12. We should give credit to God for everything. Sometimes God gives us struggles in our life to make us stronger. Our life on this Earth is not supposed to be perfect. Otherwise we would never want to leave and God wants us to thirst for Heaven. Heaven is our eternal home for those who live a life according to His will. I think Ginger feels blessed to have found a help mate to get her through the tough times we sometimes experience on this earth.

    13. Trust God means having blind faith in God. I don't question God I believe in God with a peace that passes understanding. God doesn't have to explain every detail to me, I just trust and believe. And I'm very happy doing that

      Delete
    14. So bitter are some and clearly evident at that...What a shame...What a shame. AND to the poster of ilovetobefre...I LOVED your comment and I soooo agree...have a blessed day y'all ☻

    15. To be jealous, envious and to covet is sinful. If your not Christian then all those above my mentions are just and ugly personal trait to behold.Sad☹

      Delete
    16. 1. You don't know what Jinger was praying for, but I'm sure she's capable of praying for world issues in addition to her own desires.
      2. God can handle the entire world at once, not just one prayer request at a time.
      3. How do you know Jana's praying for a man?

      Delete
    17. That was a terrible comment. God gives choices and people dont always choose the best ones hence no world peace. It is exciting God has blessed Jana with a partner. They're a beautiful family.

      Delete
    18. I don't understand why that message was even posted. Very offensive and insulting to a happy beginning.

      Delete
    19. Calm down, people. Clearly Jinger's comment about God answering her prayers like that is not something that people of other faiths would ever think of saying. And it's Ok to disagree with it!

      Delete
    20. Guys, please all be more tolerant of differences. We all have our own view and that's ok.
The world really needs more tolerance and less fights right now.

    21. I agree with Anonymous July 31 at 12:39 PM. Elly and Lily, I do appreciate your work on this wonderful blog you've created. Always keeping us with accurate information about the Duggars which we'll love but I must say this comments that make it to the comment section, they should not make it at all in the first place to avoid this hateful nonsense quarrelling between readers, especially those who call themselves Christians.

  20. When I got engaged, the last thing on my mind was to get in front of a camera and try to put into words how I was feeling so the rest of the world could see it. There was NO rest of the world to us at that point. We were so deeply absorbed, rapt, with each other that we didn't even notice the rest of the world. At dinner the night we got engaged, the waiter had to wave to get our attention. We didn't even see him standing there, ready to take our order, nor did we hear him. That's how focused we were on each other, not on "how fast can we get video statements out about this?" Jinger, this is the time to forget about the rest of the world and focus on your intended, not a camera. Too bad your family made cameras such a priority and only showed you that angle of life and love. Your family's need for admiration and affirmation from others has gotten to the point of being quite worrisome. You can break this cycle if you try.

    1. There is nothing wrong with Jinger sharing this incredible moment in her life. People do it every single day. Whether that's on the phone with a friend, on Facebook, or with the entire world or on a blog or video. Its her life, and she is allowed to share it with the world if she wants to. We still live in America, and if people want to shout "I love you" to their love on the rooftop they can.

    2. Well everyone does think or feel like you. I'm grateful for that fact because I really enjoy the show, I will watch it as long it on TV

      Delete
    3. Then why don't you try to mind your own business and stop snooping around this blog?

      Delete
    4. I don't think jinger has a need for admiration . They are a family in the spotlight because they are on a TV show and they know us viewers are very interested in knowing what's next in their lives including you if you also watch the show, or even if you just follow this blog, then clearly you too are interested in knowing like the rest of us! Congrats hunger and Jeremy!

    6. We all know this family well enough now, thanks to everything they've said, done, and showed over & over & over, to know what is unusual behavior and what isn't. Or should I say what's usual behavior for them, and what stands out as different.

  21. First of all, Congratulations to Jinger!
Hi everyone, I just want to share a gentle reminder to all who have been encouraged and inspired by the Duggar family. It has been God's blessing to know this beautiful family, but a gentle reminder is that we are all sinners in need of God's grace.

  22. I have always wondered, if the Duggar children don't get married off or chose to be single are they stuck at their parents house for the rest of their lives? Since they are adults they are mature enough to make their own decisions in my opinion but I wonder if their opinion is even considered. I hope that Jinger has a good life with Jeremy and that she is able to pursue a photography career.

    1. They've said before that the unmarried children aren't going to leave and live by themselves. John-D supposedly has a house of his own but is not living there because he's not married, or at least that was the word the last time it was discussed anywhere.

It would be good if the adult girls & boys got their own places, maybe a few in each place - could watch out for each other - but could start spreading their wings.

      Delete
    2. The third oldest, John, has his own place. In a recent episode he said he has own income and his own place, that he is financially independent .

  26. Awesome planning another big Duggar Wedding, so very happy for you Jinger. He's sure handsome young man.

  27. It's like jinger might as well announce that she isn't practicing the proper courting rules. Every pic is showing how touchy feely they are. If people here are the conservative or followers of Christ how can someone support that? What happen to the parents literally saying no to touching? Why because tlc is telling them that would be more interesting? Where is the fans morals?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you, 7:53. The rules and regulations seem flexible, for a family who prided themselves on being so rigid with them, and made a big point to show us all how they strictly adhered to them and why. Maybe it's time to drop all that and let the kids decide for themselves what they're comfortable with? And if that means more touching, or whatever, then the sky will certainly not fall down. But be HONEST with what you're doing, that's what the fans mainly ask!

      Delete
    2. What are the proper courting rules? What's wrong with hugging and holding hands?

      Delete
    3. Each couple gets to set their own boundaries for courting. That includes no hand holding until you're engaged, no frontal hugs, and no kissing until you're married. The couple doesn't have to abide by these rules if they don't want to, although it is recommended by their parents (they do regret not saving their first kiss for their wedding). But I bet if you found (or have already found) the love of your life it would be hard to not caress them.

      Delete
    4. If I remember correctly, once a couple is engaged, they set their own standards of what is appropriate. They may have been engaged already in the pictures for all we know. If they have prayed about what is proper for them in an engagement, who are we to question?

      Delete
    5. Who are we to question? The very viewers they wanted to get their family's strict chastity messages to in the first place! We are the people who watched these things being explained on the show over and over. It was the proud focal point of the "rules of engagement" when Josh got engaged. It was spelled out for us anew when Jill got engaged but still needed a chaperone. It was explained again in memorable detail when Jessa got engaged. Now hands are everywhere in pictures and full frontal hugs are OK, with no explanation? Did we miss a memo somewhere?
