After spending a few days in New York City following his engagement to Jinger Duggar, Jeremy Vuolo headed to New Jersey to visit his grandparents. He filmed this message as a thank you to the many fans who have shown their support:

ReplyDeleteI find it sad that, on the eve of the acceptance speech of the first woman to be nominated for President of the US, the highest any Duggar girl can hope for is to get engaged and then have babies. Even that group of future spouses she has to choose from is small and select. How is this doing any good in the big scheme of things?
ReplyDeleteI find it sad that you, who apparently supports the party that supposedly "prides itself on being tolerant of other's beliefs and lifestyles", pass such snobbish judgment on what makes these two young people happy. But isn't that the way it always is? Look at yourself in the mirror and please get off your high horse.
DeleteI agree, top poster person. We've discussed this before on the blog, and there are definitely people who feel the same way you do about the girls and the limited options given to them for education or life paths. At least not every parent raises their girls like this, and our country is so much better for that. The things women can accomplish, and always have accomplished, when there are no limits!
DeleteI believe God's a lot happier with what Jinger's doing with her life than what Hillary Clinton is. As for the "big scheme of things" Jinger's doing God's will and that is the best thing she can do.
DeleteYou don't have to be affiliated with any particular party to agree that history for women was made this week. A glass ceiling was broken...while other girls are kept on purpose in glass boxes.

DeleteThere is nothing more important in the "big scheme of things" than to raise kind, responsible, and loving children. Even more important than becoming presdident of this country!
DeleteThose attributes are of limited value in the world when you don't add an education or vocation on top of them. A president would know this. Have you ever heard one advocate otherwise for our youth? Quite the opposite, and there is a move afoot, with support on both sides of the political aisles, to make that education more affordable or free.
DeleteEh yeah there is definitely more to life than having kids. Your comment is rude and offensive. To say that a husband and wife that chose not to have children didn't do the "most important thing" is sickining. What if they choose to be missionaries for the rest of their life? Is that not more important than having a dozen kids.
DeleteReally don't understand what people in this country want. Parents raising good kids and nothing else? How's that going to work? You end up with a bunch good kids standing around doing nothing. (That sounds vaguely familiar.) How's that going to solve the problems already in place? It's all well and good to be good, but as someone else said, there's much more to life and you need to dig in and contribute. "Faith without works" and all that.

You two probably know each other's heart and soul in seven months than we did in 2 yrs. Jinger, you have loving parents that are teaching you gals to stay focus when courting a guy. ReplyDeleteMinistry is no doubt a sacrificial calling and admirable service, but it isn't the only line of work available or suitable for Christians. Imagine if everyone worked in ministry; there would be no roadways, buildings, restaurants, services, first responders, military, teachers, etc! It would be great to see the Duggars (and spouses) find employment outside of ministry and the family publicity business.

ReplyDeleteAlways loved the suggestion no matter what they been in my life on t.v & my heart every since it came out 19 kids and counting..it shows are children morals and anything showing God's love & power makes my thoughts in high standard!!! Love them all
