In the following video, Jana and Jason share their knowledge on acquiring the best quality produce, whether you are purchasing fruits and veggies from the grocery store or growing them in the garden.
At 26 years old, Jana is the second oldest Duggar kid, while Jason--age 16--is number 12 in the family lineup. Isn't it wonderful to see siblings who are 10 years apart working together to complete a project?

"We're not Florida." Jason should get online and research (1) Where bananas are grown commercially, and (2) Where bananas CAN be grown by a home gardener. He sounds confused. He might be surprised if he did some research on this.
ReplyDeleteUmmm it would be nicer if Jason was visiting his sister at her OWN house and helping her with her garden. Jana has a way with kids for sure! Just cannot wait for her to have her own family. She will be a GREAT mom!!
ReplyDeleteCan you please post the banana bread recipe!? :) :)
ReplyDeleteGood night a livin! She farms too?!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering who's home this is, does someone have their own place?
ReplyDeleteJason, Jason, that's an old wive's tale about rubbing the cucumber end to get rid of the bitterness. How ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI know he's getting older, so I shouldn't be so surprised, but Jason looks old!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite impressed with Jason's stage presence! He spoke very well and was even captivating! Good job!
ReplyDeleteGood job to Jana on her gardening skills too! Such sweet siblings!
Any chance you can get Jana to share her "world famous" banana bread recipe with the fans??
ReplyDeleteJana can't even accept a simple compliment about how tasty her banana nut bread is? When her brother compliments her on it, she shakes her head "no". That's so sad. A simple "thank you" would suffice. These people go too far on everything.
ReplyDeleteGood job Jana and Jason!! To many, gardening has become a lost art and I'm pleased to see other young people interested in becoming self-sufficient to provide food. Great job you two!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lily and Ellie, for faithfully posting.
Couldn't they do a close-up of Jana and Jason once in a while instead of the fruit and veggies?
ReplyDeleteI love to play in my little garden. I plant some veggies, herbs, and flowers. I wonder what their garden looks like? They should do a video tour of their garden!
ReplyDeleteLooks like produce purchased at the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Jana and Jason!! Encouraging to see y'all interested in gardening, I'm finding it to be more of a lost art nowadays.
ReplyDeletewhy bother with that video the duggar will not have a garden? they said they did on the show once but never heard anything after that. its a shame they do not take advantage of the land they own. always they do things. but never take action on them.
ReplyDeleteWith all those hands & strong young backs & time on their hands & land to spread out & money to buy supplies, they have no excuse for not growing something. I'm two or three times their ages, have one patch of sun in my small yard, yet I still grow bushels of produce each year, too much for us to eat without giving it away to neighbors. A little less coffee shops and manicure salons, a little more work?
DeleteDon't we all?
DeleteI think the thing about rubbing the cucumber is just an old wive's tale, but Jason talks like this is secret information that no one has ever heard before.
ReplyDeleteJana is not the second oldest Duggar kid. She and her twin brother both are.
ReplyDeleteJana was born before than John-David which makes her the second oldest. John-David is the third oldest. Just because they are identical twins doesn't mean the were born exactly at the same moment. One had to be born first (Jana) in order for the second twin (John-David) to be born. It's not possible for them both to be the second oldest.
DeleteI think you meant fraternal twins. Boy/girl twins cannot be identical.
DeleteYou are correct, but I think you mean "fraternal" twins. They can't be identical. They are not the same sex.
DeleteYou could learn more about gardening and produce shopping from Google. I don't get the point of this video. Weird.
ReplyDeleteWhat great tips! I'm always needing and appreciating kitchen and food tips. These two are so darn smart and speak so maturely! Love them and love this precious, loving, Godly family!! <3
ReplyDeleteI find the Pioneer Woman, Rhee Drummond, to be a great website for recipes and cooking advice. Also, the best cookbook I have ever owned is The New Best Recipe. These days, with Google at your disposal, there's no end to the resources available at our fingertips for gardening and food prep.
