A few weeks ago, the Duggars took a family vacation to a beach near Pensacola, Florida. Does your family enjoy spending time at the beach? Where is your favorite place to go?

I love the beach! My favorites are the Santa Monica and Torrance beaches. Malibu is also really nice.

DeleteThis is what always made me question this families focus on home schooling. They traveled so much, i don't know how they ever kept up with school work.
DeleteAnd the entire family always went along, even after the kids are married. It seems like no one ever has a full time job, so I guess that gives you more freedom. Just seems a little odd.

I don't travel far to beach I live 2.5 blocks from the beach along the sound of NY so I have access all year long 🏖🏝🏊🏻🍹

Our family loves going to a beach in Southern California that has caves and tide pools you can explore. There have been so many times where I've seen dolphins and sea lions swimming in the water there. Once I was ten feet away from four dolphins swimming...my husband kept encouraging me to swim to them, but my human brain said no.
ReplyDeleteSounds like La Jolla in the San Diego area. I live in San Diego so I have access to so many gorgeous beaches - Coronado, La Jolla, Del Mar, Tourmaline, Encinitas, Swami's and all the way up the coast to Oceanside. They're all great but I also have to include the beaches in Carmel-by-the-sea which is about 90 miles south of San Francisco. Those beaches are absolutely stunning, especially for both sunrise and sunset walks. So romantic!

(Yeah I might be a bit bitter, married 10 years no honeymoon, 3 kids and we haven't had a vacation ever. We work hard just to make ends meet...the Duggars need to share their money)

ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that they don't wear shorts? Pictures of the Duggar boys, men, and Derrick (not sure about Ben) in shorts have been out for a couple of years at least. That said, they have gotten a bit more relaxed in their clothing choices over the past several years.

DeleteI am the one who wouldn't be seen with my husband in black socks and shoes on the beach. Don't assume things about me or my marriage. Helping your husband not be the center of ridicule is a very loving thing to do. I spend as much time with my husband as possible, but as he serves our country--something I suspect you and most on here have absolutely never done--he is gone for months and years at a time. I know what is important. When he doesn't come home in a box it's a good day. So believe me I am not "freaked" out by socks. However, there is no need to be so overly sensitive as to not say "hey, we are on the beach--lose the socks".

There is Tybee Island near Savannah, Georgia which is nice during the off season. During the summer the beach is busy, but during off season it's nice. The water is calm and it has a friendly atmosphere being in the South.

I blew up the photo and it looks like she has terrible varicose veins on her legs...Those get ups that they swim in, draws more attention to themselves than a regular more modest whole piece swim suit with a ruffle skirt...silly choices, IMO.

DeleteYou seem to have put a lot of time and effort I to finding something to criticize. While you are certainly entitled to your opinion about their beachwear, putting Michelle down because of varicose veins ( a common result of many prrgnancies) is really unecessary.

DeleteNavagio Beach (greece) or Praia Dona Ana (Portugal) been there with friends in the summer of 2013 and Portugal last summer. It was just beautiful, simply said.

ReplyDeleteThey were also at Pensacola Christian College while they were here. I just graduated from PCC and I live in Pensacola. It was nice to see them on campus from a distance (even though I didn't get the chance to actually meet them, lol)
