She looks amazing! I can't believe she is 18 already. I remember when the Duggars were first on TV she was only 6.

ReplyDeleteOh Joy-Anna--you are way to young and beautiful to dress so gothic. I'm sure that wasn't the intent as you have a sweet spirit about you. You are 18...shed the mourning clothes!
ReplyDeleteBlack doesn't have to mean gothic or mourning. It's just a color. Who knows? Maybe it's Joy's favorite! Don't look for implications that aren't there.
DeleteBlack clothes are not automatically Gothic or for mourning. Joy Anna's outfit is fashionable and flattering.
DeleteShe is not dressed in goth!!!! She is simply radiant and beautiful in a simple black outfit!!! I highly doubt the duggars even know what high is. Is joy wearing black lipstick, thick black eyeliner, have her nailed painted black, have her hair dyed and fixed all crazy?? I do t think so!!! Joy is as far away from goth as possible! What women doesn't own a pretty black dress that makes her feel pretty?????

DeleteExactly! Seems like this new show they are trying almost too hard to make the older duggars seem more mainstream. I thought the whole point of having thier show was a platform to thier ministry to show others they don't have be like anything of this world and materialistic to show their love of God. So much for that. Now they are all over social media sharing more selfies and food posts than anything related to the gospel. Well Ben and Derrick like to copy and paste from Other people's writings so there is that?

DeleteThey are not MAKING the older be anything, the older children CHOOSE what they want to do and be, based on the household teachings. The outfit Joy chose is modest in length, fit and neckline height. She is smiling with delight, eager to take on the transition years of 18 to 21 years old.

DeleteOh c'mon. There's a liner underneath the sheer overskirt; it's only that the sheer part is a few inches longer than the liner. The whole skirt isn't sheer!

DeleteI haven't seen the episode yet; however if it was Jinger who took those pictures, BRAVO! she captured the essence of her sister quite well! I enjoy how Joy is saying to the world "you can wear dark colours without having a dark attitude".
