As Israel Dillard approaches his 10-month birthday, let's see how much he's grown. DeleteI agree with you Amber Israel has from birth looked big! He does look like a 2 yr old in the very last picture. What I think is so awesome is that he has such a huge smile in every picture I see of him. Derrick and Jill must be perfect parents and first time at that! When I see them with Israel you can see the love on their faces for their adorable chunky baby! I think that Israel looks like a combination of Derrick and Jill, way to go Derrick and Jill for being such great first time parents!

Which means that yes he has awesome parents lovingly, prayerfully, looking after their precious little baby in every aspect of his life! He is just so cute! I can definitely relate to you when you talk about negativity it runs rampant with these wonderful,Godly, families such as Duggars, Dillards, and the Seewalds. It's a shame but just overlook it we know how great of families they are!

He has a badly swollen eyebrow & under-eye area in a recent picture she posted, and what looks like a horrible red-purple bruise on one arm, worse than a toddler could get taking a normal little toddler tumble. Do you know if he's OK? That eye hasn't been right in a few pictures she posted recently.

DeleteI don't think you are looking at pictures that either Derrick or Jill posted of Israel, or you probably are confusing him with someone else. Because I have seen every picture of this precious baby,in one he did have a small mark under his eye and it was a little puffy. But that is normal my son took a spill at about the same age and his little eye looked really bad. But that's what happens when they know no fear and feel they can do anything at a fast pace...lol. Like I said I have seen all his pictures because I can't get enough of his cuteness and big smile and I have never ever seen a bruise on him anywhere and no picture of his eye again either. I don't think you need to worry he definitely looks healthy in each and every picture above, a Doctors dream patient and he has the best parents and a loving God watching over all three of them. It's not just one blanket in fact it is their bed every time except for the shaggy rug, you can see the bed pillows and blankets in the pictures. All I know is he looks cute and smiling big in each picture which is almost impossible to get a smile in each one.

ReplyDeleteIt seems like a long time ago they had that poor little baby sitting in a little booster seat at a football game, he looked like a tiny adult watching a live football game. If he is ten months now how old was he then? I don't think Jill and Derick always know how to treat their baby.

DeletePeople need to remember that thee is not one right way to care for a child. Jill and Derrick may not be doing things the way some readers have done them, but that doesn't make what they are doing wrong. Israel seems very happy and healthy in these pictures so I think the criticism and over analyzing every little thing should stop.

ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone was claiming that Jill & Derick did anything to their son. There are quite a few medical conditions that can cause unexpected bruising and easy bruising in children. If the eye area is swollen at the same time, that's another clue that something might be wrong medically. Go back and read that post - abuse is not mentioned at all.
DeleteIt was on the news tonight that someone in Arkansas has tested positive for the Zika virus. It's someone who had been out of the country recently. The disease can cause red, itchy eyes and a rash.
DeleteI believe that she is talking about a comment that is not even on here which I saw too, which I was upset with too. It mentioned that they probably lost their cool with Israel and did that to him, and they said the ridiculous stuff about the plug in. But one lady commented and said that they were just like her safety outlets at home were nothing can go inside until you slide it and it's very hard for even an adult to do. Oh, and the person who commented about his eye also said she was turning them into CPS so yes I can see why that's upsetting because Derrick and Jill are two of the most loving parents!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see this blog or Jill and Derick address the Zika crisis and what that means for their family and those they minister to. El Salvador has asked women to postpone pregnancy due to the high risk for birth defects associated with the virus.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it affects their beliefs or lifestyle at all. Everything is about god's will or design. If he doesn't want a baby to get sick, it won't get sick and it will be god's blessing. If the baby does get sick, it is a trial god has imparted for a reason. We aren't meant to meddle with god's design for our life, unless it is to perm/curl our hair, wear makeup, get braces, or call 911 in an emergency.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to encourage my fellow Duggar/Dillard fans to speak good and uplifting words over Israel. Speaking curses (he's too thin, he's bruised, he doesn't look well) is not helping. Pray for the things you think you see. Pray for his parents if you don't think they're doing a good job. Pray if you truly care about these people and are not just pointing fingers and making them look bad. There's so many of us who truly care that I hope it outweighs the ones who don't.

ReplyDeleteBabies come in all shapes and sizes. Some are extremely chubby and others are thinner, just like adults. His mom & dad are thin, so he probably will tend to be thin. Babies also tend to thin out as they get more active. At ten months he is probably getting plenty of exercise crawling and getting into everything!
