Duggar #19 Turns 6

Josie Duggar is a fighter! Despite being born at 25 weeks gestation with less than two pounds to her name, she is now a healthy little girl.

Happy 6th birthday, Josie! Your story has illustrated the power of God to millions of people across the globe, and we pray that you will continue to use your life to glorify the Lord.


And here is one of our favorite pictures of Josie, making Anna Duggar's Chicken Etti with Jill back in June 2012. They couldn't find their family's copy of the recipe, so they pulled it up on our blog.

    Oh wow! I remember watching her birth episode and just being amazed at what a fighter she was even being so itty bitty!
    It's amazing how advanced modern medicine is. 30 years ago my brother Passed away due to a premature birth at 26 weeks. The technology and training back then were not enough to save him. Praise The Lord that Josie was born in such a well equipped medical facility and highly trained staff! Without these amazing individuals and advancements in medicine and technology, these micro premise would never stand a chance. Perhaps the Duggar children can go to college and become doctors and nurses. All of them are super smart and have compassionate hearts!!

    Oh Josie, Happy birthday sweet girl. You are one of my favorites(not that all the Duggars' aren't, but it's the little ones that God seems to give our hearts an enjoyment in watching with their expressions, words, etc. One of my favorite of you was when you, along with Jennifer and Jordyn, were being interviewed on 19 Kids & Counting. You were in the middle, and while your sisters were answering questions you were trying to catch a bug (probably make believe) then you pretended to catch it and eat it. I think of that every once in awhile and laugh. I think you may still be too young to understand your birth and God's hand on your life but just the other day in fact, as I was praying for the family, I thought of Josie and when she grows up, will be in awe of God's grace on her life and have a story to tell and will glorify God with it. I enjoyed hearing you sing the star Spangle Banner too.

    Happy late birthday Josie my heart smiles reading that you are turning 6!! I have always loved the Duggars and you have always been a particular favorite so tiny strong sweet and spunky <3 but nearly 5 months ago when I delivered my own 1lb 8oz 13in 25 weaker I learned just how amazing you truly are and remembering you and your journey gave me hope in my darkest hours of our 90 day NICU stay thank you sweet angel for being a hope to a mommy and a little girl you will never even know my little Ellianna Grace is now nearly 5 months and over 9lbs my sincerest hope is she not only keeps the fight that you have but also the joy you radiate hears to 6 years and so many many more to follow #fightlikeapreemie
