Walgreens, General Mills, Choice Hotels, and Payless ShoeSource recently announced that they will no longer be advertising during episodes of 19 Kids and Counting. A dozen other companies followed suit, as the media continues to sensationalize the accusations against Josh Duggar.

I'm sorry, but I do not agree with the way people are defending this situation. It is much more serious than a "childhood mistake". It is a crime that was handled poorly without seeking professional treatment. I am conservative Christian as well, but I am also educated in the field of psychology. We need to remember the victims, as they will have to live with the fact that they were violated for the rest of their lives. As far as the sponsors go, they have the right to choose who their company supports. Clearly, they do not wish to support the way this behaviour was handled and that is their right. I do hope my comment is posted, as this is my view and I have respectfully voiced it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I know psychology as well.
DeleteI am also a very conservative Christian. I also hold a degree in psychology. If you are a Christian then you should know and understand forgiveness. I think TLC and their sponsors are doing this family a disservice.
DeleteI agree 100% on what you said. Bravo.
DeleteGoing to psychology treatment faculty will make it easier to move on.
This is my view and respectfully voiced it as well.
Although you were respectful, this is a fan page. They don't need negativity.
DeleteI agree with you. I have really enjoyed the show! They've had a good run but for the family's sake I hope they take the show off- maybe go back to periodic specials. Publicity can have very negative effects and unfortunately when you put yourself out there for the world to see you get subjected to good and bad press. I am sad this got dug up as the tabloid who did it could care less about the victims but I do hope some good comes out of this and IF the victims find they need to seek more help with any unresolved things from their past they do so with their right of privacy. TLC and the advertisers are in a precarious position now too. I hope the Duggars decide enough is enough and protect their children. Just my opinion.
DeleteThis is the letter I am e-mailing to every Company that has pulled their advertising. Feel free to use it.
Delete"I am writing to protest your Company's decision to pull your advertising from running during "19 Kids And Counting". I believe it was a hasty decision on your part and I hope you will reconsider punishing the entire family for mistakes made by a child and dealt with over a decade ago.
This is not the first time past sins have come to light about someone in the public eye. The difference is that this person's mistakes resulted in a deep religious conversion and a dedication to becoming an honorable godly adult.
You have an opportunity to stand and be counted as a Company which believes in the ideals that when a person admits and repents of their mistakes, redemption is available to everyone.
Thank you for listening and I hope you will consider everything I have said."
Thank you for saying that so kindly. I am a fan of the Duggars though what was done was covered up a dead not appropriately dealt with. It happened more than once and he was old enough to understand his actions. I can understand in a conservative home where feelings like that are not talked about can cause confusion and curiosity but it doesn't make it right. If this was any other show you would want it off the air... Because he was forgiven he gets praised? I don't think it's an issue today for him but I do feel that the Duggars are looking more for the fame than you think. They should have followed the law and reported it for his and others safety. So is dealing with it Biblically okay but if this was someone else you would say throw them in jail?
DeleteThank you. Your post about concern for the victims needed to be written. I 100% agree with your post. For the mental health of the Duggars, at this time they should remain off TV. It just makes logical sense.
DeleteI am disappointed with Josh, Jim Bob and Michelle. I don't have a problem with the other members of the family.
DeleteI would love to see how the other kids go through life.
Mommyloveswesley, who were you talking to when you said that?
DeleteSorry it was a question
I understand where your coming from and yes, Josh should have known better. But the family as far as I know did seek professional counseling for Josh. I do see your point though. God bless.
DeleteOut of all of those I only use one of those companies. Those other companies just aren't worth it any way.
ReplyDeleteDear God, Please put a hedge around the Duggar Family, Josh and Anna, Jill and Derrick, Ben and Jessa from the negative that is trying to tear this family down. Help them through this troublesome time. To be forgiven, we must forgive. Help all of them to look up and forward. Bless Josh and Anna in a very special way. Bring swift closer to all that is happening in the Media. In Jesus Name I pray.
ReplyDeleteAmen
DeleteAmen! This is what people should be doing instead of quick to judge in which we don't have the right or power to, only God the Creator does.
DeleteAmen! This is what people should be doing instead of quick to judge in which we don't have the right or power to, only God the Creator does.
DeleteI feel so bad for those girls, my heart aches for the family...I am praying daily for God to move in and help. Can you imagine the anguish of these girls, knowing that the spotlight has been thrown on them and they are suffering more now with all the anger and hate that is being directed at their family, The younger children surely have to be hearing horrible things being said. about their family,,,how do people sleep at night when you see someone else is hurting and all you can do is help to throw the stones at those they love? This is truelly sad and heartbreaking for everyone/
DeleteI say amen to anyone that is praying for all these family members
DeleteThank you LORD YOU NEVER leave us or farsake us even in times of trouble. .in your word it says trouble will come in our life..but rejoice,, for I have overcome..says the LORD. trust in him.
DeleteAmen!
DeletePut BARS not hedges!!
DeleteAmen! I miss these kids! I will not be using any of the company advertisers who have pulled away from the 19 Kids and counting show. I will show my families support to this family any way I can. Let the fan's decide. If they no longer wish to watch the show then turn the channel. Don't punish my family on what these kids have taught my grandkids! !
DeleteThey boycott the Duggars, we boycott them. Keep posting the companies that have no backbone. Wish I'd know yesterday about Pizza Hut so I could've chose differently. They got my last dollar though.
ReplyDeleteI don't need to buy from these companies lets boycotte them ! they back all kinds of trash on TV Gipsies weddings my 5 wifes sister wifes and all the other trash on TLC
DeleteNo More Pizza Hut in this house, No more Walgreens and no more General Mills products either. I hate cereal anyway.
DeleteI will boycott these companies no more General Mills product and all the others they feed Gipsies weddings my 5 wifes sister wifes and all the other trash TLC puts on Pizza hut i don't like anyway !
DeleteI just pray that God will see what is going on and help us!
ReplyDeleteBesides whoever put that on the news I want or feel like suing them or the person
but I know it is no t the right thing to do! I don't know what to think now that my favorite show is getting off T.V. I say we fight for this! we can't let the Media ruin our lives!!!
We need to stand our ground and put on the Armor of God!!!
Come on people we can't let this little problem that has already been taken care of be in our way!!! -B
Do you have your own family or perhaps a trusted friend to talk to? A television show ending shouldnt "ruin your life". Its just tv! The duggars will be fine....please try not to worry about them. Focus on your life and what God has for YOU! GOD BLESS
DeleteI think someone got paid off to open juvenile records they are supposed to be closed
DeleteI believe that the media stirs things up and reports things that are not true to the word....and incite people with half truths and lies....you should not believe everything you hear and only half of what you see
DeleteI think you should tell TLC to go pound sand, I pray you will get your family off the air so you can live in peace, the world will never give God's kids a break. You can keep up with your fans on utube and blogs and twitter, I love your show and will miss it but I hate to see you bow to TLC. May God's peace be on you and your family.
ReplyDeleteGo to tlc.com and fill out the petition that is there to bring the show back.
DeleteI completely agree.
DeleteMaybe it's a new season for the Duggars. Maybe we should look for the positive that may come out of it. When you think about the big picture, you have to put everything into perspective.
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!!
DeleteWhen everything is so heated by the press about Josh, I believe for the betterment & health of the Duggars, for awhile, they need some time away from the press & TV in general. They need time to focus on their family & time to heal & regroup. This whole incident could be tough on Anna due with 4th child this July & Jessa due with 1st child this November. I am concerned for these two women.
DeleteAgreed the family's privacy and just plain sanity is more important than TLC having their show
DeleteI'm glad Josh and the victims got the help that they needed, and I think the press is pushing this issue so much because they are a Christian family and we are always under fire. If you were non believers they wouldn't make as big a deal about this. I'm sorry this has happened and I hope everything works out soon. It's nice to have a good family in the media.
ReplyDeleteAs a believer I think the way it was handled was wrong and I don't see how other Christians don't see that it was wrong! As a child that was molested it never goes away!
DeleteFinally..a voice of reason
DeleteI am praying for God's will to be done-whether that means the show is on or not-and that the family would stick to their faith and grow through this. And I am praying for the victims too. God knows what is best for everyone so why not just trust Him to finish the work He has started? (Philippians 1:6) Thanks Lily and Ellie for keeping us updated!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers continue for the entire Duggar family. I trust that God is going to reveal to the family, blessings as a result of this. M
ReplyDeleteaybe God wanted Josh and Anna and the children to
move back closer to home. Who knows? If God's
will is for the show not to continue, then l say thank
You God! If its God's will for the show to continue,
then I say thank you God!
I have a question-if 19 kids and counting is no longer on TV for the forseeable future, why would those companies need to take their ads off? Because its not on anyway, right? Or are they taking their ads off just in case the show would air again?
ReplyDeleteI don't want to fall victim of judging other people because they have judged! I love each and every Duggar.this is been my favorite television show for years now. I watch the reruns over and over. I love you. Be assured of my continued prayers and let's keep looking for the blessings.I don't want to argue against anybody else's beliefs and I don't want to have to defend my own.Only God knows our hearts!!I love you Duggars!!I I'm going to pray for all.those supporting and those not supporting.
ReplyDeleteI put the following comment on as many of the companies as I would:
ReplyDeletePlease continue to sponsor 19 Kids & Counting. The people complaining are the ones that do not watch the show. This decision appears to be political and punitive. THIS SITUATION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PRODUCT(S). Quite frankly, it feels like your bullying this family."
I hope it helps. God will use this somehow & I can't wait to see how. Of course, it's His timing not mine. What a wonderful God we serve. Praise Him in everything.
Please put the Duggars back on, Please. Those records should have been expunged never to be seen again, Sounds like someone is jealous. We all have sinned , but Jesus in His forgave us.
ReplyDeleteI think the show should continue Josh is never on the show anyways we love see Jill and Jessa and the little kids I know TLC can replace Josh from the show without a problem
ReplyDeleteI would like to voice my meanial voice. I honestly do not agree with how the whole situation has been handled from ALL involved. I am sick this has happened. Unfortunately you can not please everyone, however there are compromises that can be made. If truth be told I do not care to see Josh on any of the future shows, but would really like to see the other chlldren and how they are progressing. Maybe the spin-off is a good idea, I honestly think it was going that route anyway. I'm sorry the media has done this but you know they are not happy unless they are stiring up hate and discontent. I wish I felt differently towards all involved but I do not. As it is noted though it is not for me to judge, but I would not watch with Josh as a part of the show.
ReplyDeleteI have notified all companies to voice my opinion on their backing out of this. I do believe this was a "witch" hunt and the end result was what they were aiming for.
Christian companies need to stand up and do commercials for them like hobby lobby and chick-fil-a, I wish the family the very best and hope every thing works out. God has a plan and things happen for a reason. Your family will come out stronger and closer to God.
ReplyDeleteI think it is sad that these companies are pulling their ads from a good show, but they don't hesitate to advertise during all the garbage shows that are out there.
ReplyDeleteSad day for the them. I hope this blog continues to follow their lives at least. Hope they get to live a normal life with out negativity.
ReplyDeleteI am saddened by the struggle your family is now experiencing. Mistakes happen in all families despite their religious beliefs. You have had a positive impact on my life and reopened my relationship with God. I am sorry to say that many people and advertisers are "good time friends". I want you to know many of us are with you in the tough times too. God bless you all.n
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame to punish all of them because of 1 person. The thing I wonder about it happened 12 years ago Josh was 14 or 15. How old were the girls? I heard one of them are still a minor and if she is then how old do you need to be to know that is wrong. I do believe in forgiveness but he was a Christian before this happened.Like I said I love the Duggars and I wished they would air the show without JOSH DUGGAR. My heart goes out to the victim's and the family. Its a shame that people dwell on how much dirt that they can stir up. I guess they got to famous.
ReplyDeletePraying for the Duggars. Josh and the young ladies. Protect them Lord. I personally will not use any products from the companys that stopped there sponsership of this show.
ReplyDeleteas a person who has been in the 'victim' seat enough times in my life.....it was due to LGBT types of pressures on me by another family member and public school systems. I grew up with many cousins and large family. The things that the media are doing is reopening up the abuse on the victims. I personally would NEVER want to reveal the abuse I had in my past and reveal whom my 'accuser' was when I was yet a child and not knowing the scripture yet. I hope that Jesus can heal this family and satan will not get victory in this. JESUS NEEDS ALL POWER VICTORY!
ReplyDeleteThe media is hurling stones at the VICTIMS by opening up such a story!
Thank you for letting me know what not to purchase and where not to go, they will not care what real people want until they lose business!
ReplyDeleteWhy so much attention to Josh Duggar and not the victims? You just don't go to counseling and then everything is ok. His parents should have stopped the filming of their family on TLC knowing that perhaps one day this tragedy would leak out to the public. Money is always a huge motivator but not always beneficial. I love the Duggars and I pray for nothing but God's grace and mercy during this very difficult time. Let's be wise in the choices that we make after all they do affect all those around us.
ReplyDeleteIf God can forgive you for your sins why cant the world!
ReplyDeleteThe Duggar's had a platform to show its viewers how to walk thru difficult times. We saw them overcome the loss of a parent, live thru the devastation of a miscarriage, having a preterm baby and how you cope when you children marry and the dynamics of the family change. Why not show viewers how you walk thru this difficult topic. He was a teenager and I truly believe they handled it the way they thought was best for their family. This whole situation reminds me how Spiritually bankrupt our country is. I need God in my life as so many others do too. Instead of condemning this family give them a platform to show us how we walk thru difficult times. Keep the show going. God has not given up on us and we should not be giving up on the Duggar's. The God I know is kind and merciful.
ReplyDeleteWell said. I agree completely.
DeleteSo sorry for you all....prayer's and hugs for all....
ReplyDeleteOkay. I've just accepted the fact that this show is over. After all this they most likely need the privacy. The family will struggle financially(since Josh is no longer making money and will likely not find a job again) but they have survived before the show and they can after. Its sad but our prayers need to be with them getting through this not the show anymore.(I can guess the family knows they have been cancelled. It just is not happening. So sad.
ReplyDeleteWhy??? Ugh! I hate this... love the Duggars and will support them still, but I'm so mad...
ReplyDeleteMaking list of companies boycotting the Duggars and will boycott shopping for their products.
ReplyDeleteWe need to do a background check on all of these companies and see how sqeeky clean they are!
ReplyDeleteIt's not accusations, he admitted to it
ReplyDeleteThis is frighteningly unbelievable! We allow sponsorship to continue for shows that promote the most vile sexual and violent content, yet cancel it because a child made some poor choices many years ago, and is now living a good and decent life. God help us!
ReplyDeleteI don't pray for "what was" for this family. I pray for "what is" for this family. God clearly allowed this to happen. God clearly has other plans for them.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAmen, to your I am agreeing with prayer. In Jesus Name
Anonymous 1 -- thank you. I agree with you as well. And I'm so glad to see that comments respectfully disagreeing are published (so, big thanks to the comment moderator). Yes, it was 12 years ago, but it was still very, very, very bad and it would appear as though it was hidden and not truly dealt with in the customarily appropriate way. I do not believe they are being drug through the mud now because of their religion. I really don't think that's the motivator here. I think it's because it's easy to sensationalize regardless of their religion. The media wants a story that will get views/sell magazines, etc. They'd do this to anyone regardless of religion, color, gender, etc. That's my opinion, anyway.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a lot of companies jumping ship. I don't want TLC to cancel the show but I just can't imagine many advertisers willing to risk their business by publicly supporting the show. So sad. I really hate to see the Duggars end this way.
ReplyDeleteI' am so very SORRY! ): My family and I are praying for all the Duggars and we always will. :)
ReplyDeleteI prey for your family to be able to find peace again. This story should never have surfaced, this was a private family matter that you had already taken care of. I can only prey that the hate groups that helped the story come to light will realize the mistake they have made and feel sadness for the victims that they have re-victimized.
ReplyDeleteAs for TLC and the sponsors I say forget them! Start your own cable channel with not only your show but other Christian shows and movies! I would definitely pay for that channel.
Who cares they don't need them. God will take care of them .I certainly won't buy or eat at any of these places. .
ReplyDeleteI'm no longer purchasing products from these companies.
ReplyDeleteAll very sketchy right now isn't it? Im hoping we leave it alone and see if the flames die off later and maybe, the Duggar females can have a show with mom and dad popping in now and then. Following these new upcoming relations would be fun,and of course more grandchildren too.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I really want to keep up on the adult girls. Their new marriage and children. Something to keep us connected.
DeleteLove the Duggar family, the shouldn't be punished for what their son did as a youth.
ReplyDeleteI'm so disappointed that the media and the negativity is focusing on the whole family. We have to remember that there are several other family members affected by the past mistakes of 1 to 3 family members and the whole family shouldn't have to suffer the loss of support
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame but people just can't seem to let this go. They need to. The family dealt with it at the time and what's in the past should remain in the past. I do think that the family could've handled the media better in the past week. Their statement that they released should have at least mentioned the daughters. They kept mentioning Josh and God but not a word about their daughters which really annoyed a lot of people. Hopefully they can sit down with People Magazine or some TV show and let their voice be heard and put this whole thing to rest once and for all.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that happen. I think they were just trying to protect the girls. By deflection it appears bad but I honestly think that they're trying to keep the girls out.
DeleteNo one is entitled to a decade-long television show and the fortune that comes along with it. Perhaps it's time for the Duggars to go back to be the regular family they've always claimed to be.
ReplyDeleteHave contacted all of these advertisers and will not shop or buy products from any of them since they have pulled their advertising and support from the Duggar Family.
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly and Ellie - do you know if the Duggars are now missing the Nashville and other family conferences they typically attend? It is so sad if all this has caused them to have to cancel those trips - I know the family (and the others who attend) really look forward to them. A shame the media is so disruptive only to make money and cause a stir. Lord be merciful!
ReplyDeleteOn line I read the Block Party for reality shows in Nashville uninvited the Duggars. Also on line I read where Josh was to be the featured speaker at a homeschool conference & Not the ATI conference & he is no longer the featured speaker. This just won't go away.
DeleteIf these companies aren't going to have their brand's commercials aired during episodes of 19 Kids...., and TLC has stated that 19 Kids...episodes are already pulled from airing, what is the point really? Yes, to support, or not, the Duggars, but if the episodes are already not showing, then neither are their commercials. It seems like an empty threat and a moot point.
ReplyDeleteI try not to judge on the specifics of what happened, but TLC canceled Honey Boo Boo and the man wasn't even on the show based on what I've read. How can this show remain on the air?
ReplyDeleteI wish the Duggar family could just move to UP network. It is a Christian station and there would be no need to bow down to TLC. Love the Duggars. This is ridiculous. He was a teen and why is the whole family being punished? Those poor girls will never heal properly if the media keeps this up. What is wrong with people today? They dealt with this over a decade ago. If he was doing it still that would be different. He repented and has been forgiven.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe the Duggars will receive an off to move to the UP network. Many people have contacted the UP network stating if that happens they will begin the petitions route to remove the Duggars as they are currently doing with the TLC network. This cycle is never ending.
DeleteEveryone can go, that will not take away the fact he is remorseful of his sin, and forgiven. If the show falls, so be it. He is moving foward. I doubt his life will end.
ReplyDeleteBut in a sense it has. He's lost his job. His juvenile crime that should have been sealed is wide open and out there. How do you think his daughters are going to look at their daddy? How will his son's feel? It's sad. When the children get older will others make fun of them or their parents not allow play dates because of their fathers sin? That to me is the saddest part. The Dugger girls appear to be strong Godly women despite what happened. They also appear to have a good relationship with Josh. My heart goes out to all the innocent victims in all of this. Shame on you to whomever put this story in the public eye.
DeleteThoughts and prayers to the Duggar Family. I also pray for the people who are quick to judge in which we don't have the right to do only our God the Creator does.
ReplyDeleteI feel we have all made huge mistakes in our lives. I thank god that Jesus died for my mistakes and those of josh dugger. The media hates god and wants to make fools of all who believe. Christians are not perfect that is why we need him. If the victims forgive him its none of your business. The duggers are a blessing and the devil is attacking
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else, I'm hoping for a show about Jill and Jessa and their babies!!
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of this. Josh Duggar was a very young teenager at the time this happened. He was not even an adult yet. We have all made mistakes as young people. Early teen years are your impressionable years.Just going into puberty. Every kid handles it differently. Why crucify Josh Duggar yet today for something that happened when he was a young teen. It sounds like his parents sought help from different people including counselors, church members, and police to get help for him. They did the right thing. Just let it be people. Who ever is without sin cast the first stone.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry the only way I will watch this show is if Josh goes on this show and talks about what he did and how wrong it's was and how his life has changed for the better that's the only thing that will make it right to me
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of continuing the story lines with the girls Jessa & Jill....even Josiah is a good one since he just started courting...also a few of the older girls who will be moving on with their lives soon...just leave out the negative aspects of the family which is mom...dad and of course Josh...but j really would like to see the outcome of the kids though...
ReplyDeleteVery well said.
ReplyDeleteI support the Duggar family. Love to expose the people who made these private childhood mistakes. If they cancel the show, I sure hope that another network will pick up the show and if not maybe they will continue their show through other media -- youtube etc...
ReplyDeleteSomething good will come out of this. Right now it looks like the Duggar name and their testimony has been destroyed, but the world will see how they continue supporting each other and keep their faith. I am especially praying for Josh and his family. Remember, once we confess our sins they are as far as east is from the west and God does not even remember them any more. Josh confessed, went to counselling and so did all the girls. His parents did not try to hide it. I love you all and will always support you!
ReplyDeleteThey have my prayers and support as well. I am just hoping that TLC uses this time as an "in between season" thing, and will bring them back for a new season. It is possible. The haven't said yet they are canning the show forever.
DeleteI competly agree with with Anonymous#8. I also have contacted the companies you posted. Well, the ones I've had anything to do with in the past. If TLC wont bring the show back. I hope another channel will.
ReplyDelete"Who can say, I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin? Proverbs 20-9
ReplyDelete"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncicumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away nailing it to the cross! Colossians 2-13
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God FORGAVE YOU!!!!!!!!!! Ephesians 4-32
I hope these view verses show people that Go does FORGAVE no matter how big or small the sin is God FORGIVES! Praying for the Duggars!
Love in Jesus Christ,
Mary :)
I wonder how many people defending them would still be defending them if it was their daughters that this happened to. The whole thing needs to just fade out of the headlines so that those people can get about re-building their lives.
ReplyDeleteThis whole situations is ridiculous. Yes, Josh did something wrong. I'm not saying that he is in the right, but I am saying that he did everything he could to make it right!! I feel terrible that this family has to face so much tribulation over something that happened 12 years ago. Let's remember that he did confess and ask for forgiveness. Jesus said that if you ask for forgiveness he is faithful and just to forgive us. A sin is a sin. As humans, we should understand that. We all make mistakes. We all have mistakes. This is one of Josh's mistakes that was made PUBLIC. If anything, the situation shows that he's not perfect like the TV image can give people. It shows that he's like one of us. Human. Like all humans we need forgiveness. Therefore, forgive this family because they are just like you and me
ReplyDeletei wrote to eah and everyone of these people to tell them what their doing with the 19 kids and counting is totally wrong and that i will never shop their or go their nor will recommend anything to anyone about this its bing prejudice and its a sin
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that media and everyone else is attacking this family. Although I don't agree with all their views I don't this family should be persecuted because of something that happen with a child. And Josh was a child. I hope that the family can find peace.
ReplyDeleteHOW CAN I SHOW MY SUPPORT SO ITS HEARD!! ?? LOVE YOU GUYS! !! HANG IN THERE!!
ReplyDeleteI have loved this show from the very first one, I am a Christian and there are way worse shows on TV.. Bad things happen to people, it doesn't matter if they are Christian or not, bad things happen.. Josh's parents did what they thought was right, and just like any other family kids do not come with instructions, parents do the best they can, I am a parent and grandmother, I can tell you no matter how hard we try someone thinks they could do a better job.. I feel this way about the show being pulled, I am sad I love this show, and some good things were taught on the show that you don't see in other reality shows..if they are going to pull it, I will pray that at the very least they do a spin off featuring the girls, after all they are the victims, and yet they are the ones that have been making the show successful .. we all want to see how their life unfolds..so if TLC is reading this..Please let the girls have the show, they deserve that..
ReplyDeleteI support the Dugger family and wish that TLC and all those companies continue with them because we all have skeletons in our closets. We should not judge and remove support from people that are trying to change and be better human beings. Just remember none of us are perfect. We can only strive to be better.
ReplyDeleteWith all the filth on TV I understand who is running the media...Satan. To take this wonderful program off the air is a heartbreak. It's reality TV why not watch this family get through this?
ReplyDeleteWhat help did the victoms get?
ReplyDeleteI want all The Dugger's to come back on tv.Only one of 4 shows fit to watch.
ReplyDeleteI guess we need to look at what other shows these companies sponsor and see if they are singling out the Duggars.
ReplyDeletelove the Duggers, It is the only show I looked forward to watching. I hope this will pass soon.
ReplyDeleteCounseling is what the victims got. If they have a problem let them come complain. Its not our decision it should be between them and Josh.
ReplyDeleteI want the return of 19 Kids and Counting! I do not want a spin off. I like the entire family!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering if this might be a new season and the Duggars need to consider full time mission work. I can't imagine living in the atmosphere of negativity that surrounds them now. Jim Bob and Michelle no longer have babies to worry about so it might work for them now. It breaks my heart to see what is happening and to know that I may never again be able to watch them on TV but maybe they have reached the end of their usefullness here. I have seen what this kind of publicity can do to a family and about the only answer is to relocate
ReplyDeleteSupporting your family in thoughts and prayer during this trial. Remember that no one enters Heaven except those who are humble. God is giving this trial as a gift to receive humility. This too shall pass. This is not about your family. It's the reality of the hypocrisy of the powers that be. Hang in there Duggar family. We love you.
ReplyDeleteI've been emailing each company to inform them of our boycotting them .that they are showing a lack of common sense and morals to hold a juvenile s illegally obtained records as hvng any weight in a business decision. Especially when minors records are sealed, then when they become an adult, it's esponged. Further their lack of loyalty to a business partner shows the public they aren't going to look out for consumers safety n welfare either. Please join in writing each and every company listed.
ReplyDeleteso sorry for everything going on hope get to be on tv again
ReplyDeleteI think it's about tearing Christianity down. We can have nude shows on T.V. , and support gay rights, and trans gender people, A 14 yr. Old child did something terribly wrong, but he has and is paying for his mistake. What about movie stars and musicians that are into drugs and violence and influence the children of today? What is that saying?
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of the Duggars since the early specials, I own all of their books and have seen every episode. That said, I could not bring myself to watch anymore if they continue the show. It would just be too sad. Josh is not just being accused as your post above says--he confessed. And there is a police report with witness statements. There's just know getting the knowledge of his crimes out of my mind. I love the Duggars and I'm praying for them but I believe they deserve some privacy and time away from the cameras after all that has come out.
ReplyDeleteI am an atheist, but with a mostly each to their own attitude about religion. I love the show despite having many opposing viewpoints. They seem to be a pretty nice bunch of kids. This is where the however kicks in. It is a crying shame that this wasn't handled better when it happened. Do I think that Josh is a crazed predator for life because of what he has admitted to doing? No. Some people who commit crimes in their teens, and it was a crime, are irredeemable. But from what I have seen, unless he is a very convincing sociopath, I think he was just curious, alas with unwilling partners. Who, by all accounts seem able to forgive him, so I don't think the entire family should be canned when until a muckraker came along, they were doing ok.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest confusion & disappointment comes from Josh saying in speeches that LGBT people are a threat to children, knowing what he had done himself. I can't help wishing he had owned his past & discussed his recovery back in the day. You can't be threatened if you have no secrets. When they first came to our attention he was still very young & penitence then may have gone a long way. Instead things were handled in such a way that he really should never have stood on a soapbox to throw stones.
I hope Josh & the victims come through this ok. Reading some posts on other sites, for example on Jackson's birthday, have been repellent. How does writing foul messages about Josh on Jessa's Instagram account help anyone??
Anyway, I hope this gets posted. I genuinely wish them well & hope somehow without the kids getting hurt any more.
I TOTALY SUPPORT THE DUGGARS.
ReplyDeleteThe good lord will see this family through all of this. They deserve their privacy now in this crisis. I am a fan of the Duggars and I wish them well. No one has the right to judge what has happened. There is going to be alot prayers and healing needed for the family.
ReplyDeleteI am greatly disappointed in TLC, and these spineless sponsors. I have contacted Choice hotels and Payless, and got noncommital form responses. PLEASE, please do not go on Dr Phil. He has only one agenda, and it is sensationalism and viewer ship. We are praying for all your family during this time, and hope you and the "19 Kids and Counting" show can continue. God Bless You.
ReplyDeleteThis like a soap opera!
ReplyDeleteMaybe going back to a non-public life is what the victims need. I am missing the show and praying for the entire family, especially the victims (and one non-family victim), but I'm thinking the show probably cannot recover from this.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is how they are reacting. I hope this site is run by outsiders. Because I don't want to believe the parents would be so concerned with a tv show when there are so many other issues at hand. This is no time to be on tv. This is a time to reach inside and see what real answers and actions can be had. Start by creating a new charity just for girls that have been raped or molested! Forget about cable. Move to youtube!
ReplyDeleteThis is to inform ALL companies that effective immediately, me , just one persond will NOT be purchasing any/all products and or resturaunts/stores that carry/sell/use your products as well as other shows you sponsor. May each companyhave thier closets made public!
ReplyDeleteIt is up to TLC if the show continues. Companies by ads in blocks and most weren't even aware that they were sponsoring 19 kids. If TLC decides to air the Duggars again they will sell blocks of ads and there will be companies who will buy. For some fans it might be hard to boycott certain stores. I know Walgreens is the only late night pharmacy in my city so there are some places stores you just can't avoid. Right now maybe this summer break is good for the family, to take some time privately and then we will all see what the Duggars and TLC want in the fall.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest son just asked me what I was doing. I explained the situation and he said what is the big deal about, The family is still the same and will still be who they are and we shouldn't change how we feel about anything we already have an opinion about. They are still same people now and these are not new charges or and thinks everyone has a right to thier opinion and there are companies that will stand up and take the other sponsers places.
ReplyDeleteI have contacted each of the companies. Thought I would post the response from Kings Hawaiian.
ReplyDeleteAloha Buffy,
Mahalo (Thank You) for contacting King's Hawaiian Bakery.
We appreciate your interest in our products.
We appreciate your feedback. When we purchased our air time earlier this year, it was already determined that our commercial would stop running this week and we have no plans on running any of our commercials until Fall.
Mahalo for supporting King's Hawaiian and have a great week!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or comments.
I am
ReplyDeletePraying for the whole family. I know God is in this. I will miss them especially Josie
Why are companies pulling ads? We deserve to decide what type of shows we watch. Investigate each company...check thier closets...what shows do they sponser..Are thier values yours?? This is silly. Turn the channel...take back your remote...you decide... TLC has soo many shows..different views/varieties of life styles shown that's what makes the channel popular. Anyone who watches 19 Kids and Counting knows what it's like to live as a christian and we enjoy the show..it's reality tv. Just like those that may watch other shows that are on TLC that I choose not to and are against my beliefs. I'm not petitioning to take them off the air so PLEASE DON'T TOUCH MY REMOTE AND CHANGE MY CHANNEL.
ReplyDeleteA question for Lilt and Elli-do you run this blog or does JB?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if all these advertisers would advertise for Cracker Barrel, Home Depo and many more that supports homosexuality? This was a terrible thing that happened in childhood development, a minor that made a serious mistake that his parents handled it the best they knew how. He was a minor and it should have never gone public. The whole family is being punished. Bring the Duggars back. They aren't perfect they are human.
ReplyDeleteDo people and the media not REALIZE they are harrasing pregnant women?? Anna and Jessa I am praying fervently for you.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if u have received. Any of my comments..I'm not good at the internet and don't know what a lot of things mean.I am so very sorry y'all are having to go through so much pain and damage and that there are so many saying rude nasty things...they act like this just happened and not so many years ago.I am a senior cit and have been a big fan.since y'all were first on tv...my weeks just aren't the same without yall!{off seasons}Untill y'all are back on I hope y'all will continue putting pictures and updates on fb...I don't have twitter or instagram.I love y'all and God bless!Look forward to seeing ALL of u back end of summer!Elizabeth Jones
ReplyDeleteKeep the show on I love the duggars
ReplyDeleteI have emailed each company with my support and I encourage everyone to do the same. Praying for the Duggars.
ReplyDeleteMy family dealt with this same situ differently and I'm glad we did. How are the girls involved ? Why did. You wait? But I don't hate ya just feel for ya with the press .hope the rest of the family are k and they can have therapy / support . But please don't down play abuse
ReplyDeleteMy prayers go out to the Duggars.
ReplyDeleteI certainly will not be shopping at any of these business's anymore! I have my copy of this whole list on my PC, so that I will never forget not a one of them, there are far more business's out there that I would gladly spend my money at!
ReplyDeleteJust to let all of you know,Hulu no longer has 19 Kids and Counting available from their program list. They have dropped their show. Last I heard, Amazon still has the show available.
ReplyDeleteI sent Hulu a complaint email to the customer relations department.
I do not agree with half of all you people. This childhood mistake, he laughed about it in a video...saying lol we are from AK? Right? People he knew what he was doing. He was raised in a church. His parents are very aware of what is going on in that house with the intrusive leadership/parenting they have. I am glad that these companies are pulling from their show. I have emailed all the companies thanking them. I am praying that your family does get the help and counseling that is needed. For the children that were affected, and for the future children as well.
ReplyDeleteThat anyone laughed and made a joke of the situation is simply not true. Please provide the video IN CONTEXT where he said that.
ReplyDeleteI think we all need to stop talking about how awful it is for Josh and the show and focus on how horrible it must be for the girls having an awful time in their life exposed to the whole world. I think as a blogger you should stop talking about advertisers leaving the show that really no longer exists and stop talking about the incident all together for the girls sake.
ReplyDeleteAs sad as this is, because I love the family too....i agree with anonymous 7:28. My heart breaks for the sisters. Btw, where has grandma duggar been in all of this?
ReplyDeleteYou put yourselves out in the public eye on TV, Twitter, Facebook, etc... In doing so, you ask for this kind of publicity. It's no surprise that your deep, dark secret was revealed. No family is perfect, including yours.
ReplyDeleteThat's just sad. I won't be watching TLC till they put the Duggars back on.
ReplyDeleteWrote to all the companies. Please help out and put pressure on them like the haters are. This is our only chance. Threaten to boycott too if they cave in to those posers acting as if they care about the victims. They are punishing the victims because their hate is for ALL CHRISTIANS.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Not seeing sweet Josie is awful! She is a miracle baby.
ReplyDeletePraying for this family and all involved. Would like to see the show continue as before. Sad this had to be brought up and made the family and victims go through this all again.
ReplyDeleteBring back the Duggars. Josh was punished at the time and received counseling. Now stop
ReplyDeleteAll this stupid hubbub and let the family get on with their life and their faith and put them back on the air. Shame on all the companies who pulled their support. Life is too short to be making such a big fuss over something that has already been taken care of . Please put the Duggars back on TV. Thank you. Dee Dee
What has this country come to when a president can do what Mr Clinton did and still remain president. And a 12 yr old boy is judged as though he were an adult when this occurred. Shame on you TLC, and all the other sponsors responding the same way. If the victims forgave him, then it shouldnt have even been an issue. Shame, shame. Lets see if you do the right thing or follow the rest of the vultures.. we will be waiting to see.
ReplyDeleteIn Touch Weekly Magazine should be included in our list of companies to boycott, it was the magazine that obtained the documents and started this.
ReplyDeleteIf it doesn't work out on TLC I sure hope that another network will pick up 19 Kids & Counting! God Bless
ReplyDelete19 kids has been pulled in Australia. It was on the only pay TV we have here. So upset because we were so far behind in Australia. Jill's wedding had only recently aired. We have yet to see Jess and Ben's wedding the birth of baby Israel. What Josh did was terrible but why punish the whole family and viewers who love the show. :( Praying for the family.
ReplyDeleteI'll miss the show if it gets cancelled , but whats best for the family, especially the kids is what's most important here, Not worried about how sad or upset viewers are because they can't watch there favorite TV show every week. Praying Josh and his victims have received the proper Counceling. Every time I think about those girls I can't help but feel so much pain for them .
ReplyDeleteI never looked at the ads/commercials anyways!
ReplyDeleteIt was a mistake, by a kid, and made years before the shows was put on the air. Maybe that's when you should have done some research. This family has never said it was above problems. Keep it on the air, it may help other families to see how they work through this. If you really feel the need to remove something from the air, limit Josh's air time. The world can learn something from this family. With so few good shows on, that everyone can watch, don't take this one away.
ReplyDeleteYes, Josh Duggar made a terrible mistake in the past, but GOD forgives, as long as you ask for it. I feel so sad for Josh, he did a terrible regrettable thing that he has been forgiven for. Thing is, he cleaned his closet, he came clean and sought help for himself and the victims. But the networks and all wont let him continue with his life or the victims life! I think that it is crazy how people try to find every dirty little thing that this family has done simply because they are Christian. They may not know it now, but that is the Devil trying to work through them against God. You don't see a lot of people discriminating against "16 and Pregnant", (which is also on TLC), or the "Kardashians, my five wives, or sister wives. (all on TLC). I bet that those people who post bad things about them, wouldn't want others digging up bad things that they did that happened in the past. I do hope the best for this family and also I pray for them sometimes with my family. I am just a kid and I am glad that my parents are raising me up with the bible. The bible says in Psalms 37:30 that "The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment." A righteous person will talk of judgment. He will not REFUSE to judge. He will talk judgment.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous I can't believe people are more concerned about a show instead of the real victims here!
ReplyDeleteI avoid sites like TMZ or others claiming he joked about the abuse. It's very easy to put together a fake video to make it look like Josh said something he didn't. It is very wise to avoid the tabloids because they aren't always truthful. Continuing to pray for the whole situation.
ReplyDeleteGood for them!
ReplyDeleteThank you for saying this. I love the Duggar family but after something like this, it is completely in the right for a company to decide not to promote during their show.
ReplyDeleteHe was a kid, this is not an uncommon situatio with children at that age, authorities were contacted, steps were taken, healing and forgiveness was expressed by the girls. People are opening wounds just for the bloodlust like piranhas after their prey. I find that disgusting
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAnyone who truly cared about the victims would be horrified that these police records were unlawfully released to the public. It's not hard to put two and two together and figure out who most of the victims were. Their privacy has been shattered. This is not about justice for victims, it's about bringing down this family.
Everybody makes mistakes we
ReplyDeleteAre not perfect
We should forgive everyone Please leave the show 19 kids and counting
Josh Duggar was a juvenile the record should have been sealed and the girls identities as his sisters should not have been been reveled. That was shameful on the part of media and the government there.
ReplyDeleteyou know all these company sponsers are pulling out i hope it hits them right in the face and they get more new sponser that are going to be a lot better then these guys and they go on another channel then TLC and make another channel do very well in ratings they have their viewers thats for sure.I wish the Duggar well on their interview to make alot of pig headed people to see the light of the Lord and soften their hearts to understand and have a heart .Praying for the Duggars keep your head up.
ReplyDeleteI pray all of the Duggars are getting though this difficult time.I am sure they are saddened by all these negative responses,Josh was a child himself when these incidents happened,I am sure something happen to him at some point .As it says in the Bible , he with no guilt cast the first stone.
ReplyDeleteI support the Duggars 100% for all the reasons everyone else does, however I want to direct this message to Anna. I have been in a similar situation. My husband told me everything on our third date, and God gave me a heart for him that I wouldn't have thought possible. If I had held his past deed against him, I wouldn't have the wonderful marriage God planned for me. Josh is so blessed by your love, and if anyone ever criticizes your choice, cling to God and He'll protect you. It isn't always easy, especially when new people find out, so I pray for strength for you and your children as you walk through this in such a public way. Of course, I'm also outraged that TLC has chosen to cancel this show while most of its other programming is immoral, depraved, pornographic, and disgusting in every way. I'm contacting sponsors who have pulled out, and pray they'll have a change of heart, even if the show never makes it back on the air.
ReplyDeleteSorry to see this happen, I have to wonder how many of the new shows on TLC they think are suitable. I am sad for the little children who do not understand all this.
ReplyDeleteI just have to share a story that would blow your mind. I was molested by my uncle when I was only 4 years old. He was right around 12. No one did anything to stop it, yet family members knew. I grew up in constant fear, anguish, a "slut" as some people might call it because he awakened a feeling that should not have been, as a young teenage girl. As an adult I finally started talking about it, telling family members, NO ONE believed me. I was on anti-depressants for over 20 years because of it. Now my family likes to include him in family get together s because he's "all alone", yet they ignore my requests for that not to happen. Have I forgiven him, absolutely, do I ever want to be around him ever, NO. I'll be re-leaved when his body is in the ground. What he DID to ME a 4 year old little girl should have NEVER happened. yes he was a kid, but he did know it was wrong because he HID it. So for them to hide this and not get professional help, shame on them. These girls will remember this for the rest of their lives. And yes, I've tried to commit suicide because of this.
