Israel's Birth...Tonight

Jill Dillard recently told PEOPLE that she has been taking full advantage of her mom's expertise during this first month of parenting Baby Dilly. "I call out to my mom and ask things like, 'Is this feeling normal?' and, 'How long should I nurse?'" Jill says.

Watch Jill and Derick Dillard welcome Israel David Dillard tonight on TLC. Tune in at 8pm ET/7pm CT for a two-hour special of 19 Kids and Counting, "Jill's Special Delivery" (preview below).

  1. I wish people would stop calling him "Baby Dilly" as we know his name. It was okay when we didn't know his name yet, but since we now do, we should call him by his real name of "Israel."

  7. This show certainly has lost the element of ministry. It's all about watching the couples kiss and have babies or talk about babies. It's taken a sad turn since it first began. Jill has become the superstar of the series and so many episodes are all about her. Never hear any talk any more about her being a missionary.

    1. It's about the ministry of motherhood, the ministry of family. A very important mission in life. It's not sad, just the opposite in fact beautiful, joyful and encouraging.

  8. Last night there was a a wonderful three hour special about the last nine Duggar births, so why oh why are they showing some of the very same footage during Jill's special? Wasn't this episode supposed to be about Jill/Derick/Isreal?

  9. Is TLC SERIOUSLY going to do it again, and just show us a tad bit at the very end? Us fans love Jill and her family, we deserve better than that;(

  10. Okay, it's an hour and 25 minutes into the show and Jill hasn't even begun labor yet, are you kidding me? Sincerely, Frustrated

  11. I am going to admit it-I was reticent to watch but tonight's special show is the best one ever. Surpasses the weddings by a long shot. The whole family was involved. It was syrupy but to the point and beautiful.Welcome Israel!

  12. You would think with a 72 hour labor they would've showed more in a 2 hr. special. It is just a big recap!

  13. If I was the Dillards and the Duggars, I would be so upset with TLC, it's like they put forth no effort into the show, have they given up?This was supposed to be a heart warming show about Isreals birth. Anna and Michelle's births were all so touching. I know they hurried the show for us impatient fans, but I'd rather they took their time and showed us what all happened, like what we all read about. This girl went through so much and they made it seem like all was easy peasy. I guarantee that the UP channel will do a much better job with Erin Bates/Paine when she has her baby.By the way, this comment in no way is bashing the Duggars, but it is bashing TLC. I'm a Duggar supporter.Jill looked beautiful and serene throughout her labor.

  14. I understand it is always lovely to have the reconfort from our Mother & Jill probably must need her Mum very much so during that special time. However I cannot believe Jill does not know how to look after baby as she look after her siblings so much & apparantly she studied to be a midwife.

  15. People are granted to even see in their delivery room, why complain there's too little film footage?
I think viewers have the idea that they should see it all now, pictures used to come out later and be much more formal and everyone was fine with that. Attitudes have changed through history.

  16. I wonder how the midwives thought that there would be no complications for Jill under her circumstances, it was obvious that was going to be a difficult labor. I wonder if Jill went to a medical doctor before she even went into labor. I thought there was wisdom in asking around for more than one sources of advice.

  17. Agree with Anon #2. I love the Duggars, but this isn't the same show we started watching years ago. I'd like to see less kissing, weddings, and babies, and more about their Christian ministry and raising a large family.

  18. Tuesday's episode is already one of my all-time faves. Except...waiting until the last half-hour for coverage of the Special Delivery. Then again, it gave us all time to relive some terrific times. Thank you, Duggar family for your wonderful testimony through your program.

  20. Who are the two girls in the video at Derrick's birthday party? I thought one of them was Marjorie but they both look like her. One is next to Cathy and the other is on the couch with Jill and Derrick.

  21. Disappointed in the episode...too much recap, Michelle's deliveries had nothing to do with this subject, yet we had to hear from her again and again.....Anna was shown "raw" and with little dignity left in her labor and deliveries, yet Jilly was given a wipe-over in hers. We saw nothing about this long, 70 hour labor...they Duggars know how to protect their own blood, but woe to the daughters' in law...they are second class citizens...in this regard. Be careful, Derick and Ben.
