What do you think of the Duggar girls' new room? It had been bright yellow since the family built their house more than eight years ago. After Jill and Jessa moved out, the seven gals still living at home decided it was time for a change. Michelle's childhood friend Cindy came over and helped them choose new paint colors and decorations. The walls are now burnt orange, dark gray, and light gray.

They did a beautiful job on the room, however, it reminds me of a hotel room now.
ReplyDeleteThey'll personalize it up soon. At least that's what my daughter would do!
DeleteIt looks amazing!!!!! Gorgeous. Such a huge difference!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. It looks so nice. I am glad they were able to do that
ReplyDeleteI still like the "before" pic. best. You can't top the beautiful murals!
ReplyDeleteThere are 7 girls but only 4 beds. Where do they all sleep?
ReplyDelete2 girls are married now and i think josie the youngest may stay in another room.

There are still 7 girls at home! I think there must be extra beds that are different from those beautiful sleigh beds :-)
LOVE IT! When do they show the room on TLC?
ReplyDeleteSo, this makes 5 beds for 7 girls. Who is sharing with whom a bed?
ReplyDelete2 have married and moved out.
DeleteThe new look is definetely an improvement. It's so stylish and modern now. I especially love the blue bedspreads.
ReplyDeleteAre those Lamp Lighter Books on the desk? I love those books! What titles are their favorites? Beautiful room!! Love the picture frames!!
ReplyDeleteChloe
I would like to see all the girls have their own bed. It's constantly confusing.
ReplyDeleteThe former room looked like a little girls' room, and the new room looks like a young adult room. Now I see the argument for breaking up the big girls and the little girls. This is not a room for little girls.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really pretty. Talk about a "grown up" room.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've always wanted my room to be those kinds of colors!!!
ReplyDeleteThe theme of dark on white makes me think of the word of God. I think I am getting it.
ReplyDeleteThe room looks amazing, but it's going to take me a little while to get used to it!!!
ReplyDelete~Lydia~ <3
It's just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a teenage and adult room , with having christen values . Cindy did a great job
ReplyDeleteI believe the gray is much more soothing for a bedroom.
ReplyDeleteLove the new colors and style!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find these picture frames? Or what brand are they? I have been searching for picture frames like these but haven't been able to find them! I love the room make over! So beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteFrom the episode it appears that the girls refinished those frames! Pinterest inspired maybe? They look awesome!
DeleteEveryone did a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI like the new room, especially the colour scheme. Its very modern and makes the room look bigger. However I do miss that horse picture!! Overall good job though! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT AND IM GLAD THEY KEPT THE HORSE
ReplyDeleteThe horse is actually the before picture. They didn't keep it
DeleteThey didn't keep the horse!!!!! They just took pictures with it.
DeleteLove it, more grown up looking, a time for a change, good job!
ReplyDeleteI think they did a wonderful job! Looks much more mature. I wonder though, is there a section for the little girls where it's more little girlie looking for them?
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! It looks much less busy and cluttered than before. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThe room is beautiful and so are all the girls. Seemed like they really had fun with the decorating and some good quality time:)
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! Very clean and modern :) great job!
ReplyDeleteit is looking lovely ,so grown up do the little ones have there own area .will the boys be next ,so enjoy seeing about the family we are way behind in England
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's actually suit for the girls room! 😀
ReplyDeleteI like the new girls' room. It's more grown up for them, especially for the 4 little girls.
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderful at everything you do !
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderful at every thing that you do. Wish I could do this to my room. Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteI think the After turned out really nice!
ReplyDeleteLOOKS GOOD BETTER THAN BEFOR
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Nice change for maturing girls.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice..
ReplyDeleteLove it! I adore the comforter!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Super pretty colors. Nice, clean and cozy. Good job girls.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! Enjoy it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new room; it's so fresh and pretty. Do all the girls share one room?
ReplyDeleteI think its too old looking for the little girls. :( I know you need a change but something more inbetween their ages would have been better. This could be a master bedroom the way it looks there is no sign of little girls. Thats just my opinion lol its your house. Its lovely anyways.
ReplyDeleteThey both look nice
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful room! They are lucky girls :) It fits them well.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Hope the younger girls like the more "grown up" look!
ReplyDeleteLove the light fixtures, pictures and bedding not to fond of the paint color. Would have lived something a little brighter.
ReplyDeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteI love the new look! The room looks mature and modern, but still comfortable. The wedding photos are a great touch! These girls have great decorating taste. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous
ReplyDeletevery "grown up" love it
ReplyDeleteLove it, super elegant and cozy
ReplyDeleteLove it! Looks great😀
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteMuch as I love the murals that were painted on the walls, the new room looks as if it has been brought into the 21st century. Those girls are growing up!
ReplyDeleteI personally liked the "sunshine room" better :) i was sad to see it go. The new room seems too dreary and grownup.
ReplyDeleteI think it is soothing! The colours are not so loud like the yellow was, but then again we all have different tastes!
DeleteCute room- very modern and chic!
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty however I'm not being negative-just offering my opinion. The green bedspreads have to go and change the names on the beds. So glad for the older girls that it looks like a bedroom and not a playroom but how many beds are really in there? Are they doubling up?
ReplyDeleteAre you going to post a recap?
ReplyDeleteI especially love the large white frames over the bed, that have a mint or aqua inset...do you have any idea where they got them? I am in the process of redecorating my home, and these would be just perfect! Thank you so much...your blog is always such a blessing! In Him, Theresa
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! Nicely updated! Good taste by all involved! I was hoping you would post the pictures as it goes by so fast during the show!
ReplyDeletelove it now it looks more like their style and love the more modern chic look
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely. Good job!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the room make over, but I did feel sorry for Jenny having to give up her horse she really wanted to keep it bless her heart.
ReplyDeletethey're growing up
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness their room looks even bigger now. You boys will make wonderful husbands.. your sister's are lucky to have you...
ReplyDeleteGod Bless xx
It's beautiful...for older girls. I have to agree with Jim Bob, the horse should have stayed for the little girls. The room should be split up according to age groups.
ReplyDeleteso so sad for Jenny. I wanted to reach through the screen and give her a hug.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It is kind of a mix between Jessa and Jill's wedding colors.
ReplyDeleteWHAT A GORGEOUS ROOM....THEIR ROOM WAS SOOOO LOVELY BEFORE WHEN THE GIRLS WERE YOUNGER....THIS ROOM IS SOPHISTICATED AND SOOO GROWN UP....I WISH THE DUGGARS WOULD COME AND DO SOME MAKE OVERS AT MY HOUSE....GOD BLESS YOU ALL....HAYYY WHEN ARE YOU REDOING THE BOYS' ROOMS? LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a criticism -why can't Jenny choose a beautiful horse picture for over her bed. horses mean a lot to her. Plus, the wedding pictures are nice but it seems like a shrine to the girls who moved out. Too bad they can't have an individual portrait I,e. Jinger with her camera, Jana at the piano. Their uniqueness would personalize their own space. Just a thought
ReplyDeleteI guess they did not want those kinds of pictures or else they would have done that. Their room their choice
DeleteVery nice you did an amazing job!! Did like the tree that was painted on the wall but it is nice to change things around from time to time.
ReplyDeleteAgain with the bed inquiries! Anyway, remodel looks nice. Not really a fan of burnt orange though. To each his own though, I say.
ReplyDeleteI love the new room ! I think it looks better now ! And more stylish !!
ReplyDeleteThere is one thing I really do not understand. Why do people put pictures of themselves on the wall? Don't you really see enough of yourself looking in the mirror everyday? Maybe I am just strange, but seriously, I don't even look in the mirror everyday. When I do it usually for a few minutes, sometimes a few more more minutes tops if there is an issue or something. I would hate to look at myself on the wall everyday. I don't see the point to it. Maybe I am just missing something here. (no I am not ugly and/or overweight or anything like that) Just seems a little conceited. I prefer to look at images of my Lord or beautiful images of God's creation and family/friends I rarely ever see to remind me of them when I see it.
ReplyDeleteNote the wedding dress colours in the room (a nice idea).
ReplyDeleteI love the room and i love your guy's show it encourages me in every way to get even more closer woth the Lord
ReplyDeleteWhen will you post Israel's picture on the board?
ReplyDeleteI think they did a great job though i liked the wall paintings.
ReplyDeleteI feel badly for the younger girls if they are still in the newly decorated bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping there is another nook or crany room where the little girls can have their pony back, a colorful spring tree with blooms, flowers, butterflys etc, their own beds/ bunks desks, all the things little girls like...
this has nuthing to do with decorating...but i am tired of seeing baby births..show the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the new room. I LOVE the old room, too. If I were to choose which room I like best, I would say the new room. It's more my type of style. I wish I could do that to my room. The only thing I can do is move the furniture. :(
ReplyDeleteI love the new room. I like changing my room cause I get bored of it.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like a person of any age could be comfortable in the room. But why not have separate bedrooms for the older and younger girls. Jana is old enough to be some of the girls mom. It's doesn't seem right with that much square feet available they should share a room. Is the play room necessary? Can there just be toys in the little kids room?
ReplyDeleteI love the room, and think it is great that the girls all share a room together. I'm one of five children, we lost our dad in March to COPD it is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Cherish your parents and family always, you never know when they will be gone. I had no idea my dad would go so fast. I miss him dearly. I love to watch your show online and see how you all love one another. keep the faith and stay close.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless.
very surprised this room have been updated before !
ReplyDeleteI love the new decor that the girls chose! Even the smallest girls, Josie, Jordyn and Jennifer, will appreciate that they have such a grown up room in a short time! Josie will be 6 this year so they are growing up fast. I am sure there are still some elements just for the youngest girls and I doubt they feel left out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room!
ReplyDeleteI have grown up with these girls and its about time
ReplyDeleteI love it it is awsome !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also like it like it was before but it is so nice now
Post some more comments.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty
ReplyDeleteI liked the old setup, it looked warmer. Now it's too formal.
ReplyDeleteI also would love to see how all those girls share the room, whose beds are where. Originally they had 5 girls only with those slate beds. Then I guess they added some bunk beds. I'm curious what's it like right now.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThey didn't keep the horse they painted over it.
BEAUTIFUL
ReplyDeleteGreat job girls !!!! Be proud !
ReplyDeleteIt's like a whole new room!
ReplyDeleteI think the duggar girls are so thankful!
I have always wanted a new room well redesigned room!
They are very blessed!
-Brandyn Marie
Poor Jenny is right! Why do the wishes of the older girls trump the wishes of the younger girls?
ReplyDeleteSome of the colors represent the bridesmaids dresses for Jill and Jessa's wedding.
ReplyDeleteThis room is depressing. Also, they should have thought about the younger girls since they will be there longer.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt that the older girls just did what they wanted to do! I am sure the little girls had some input too! We cannot see the entire room in the preview so it's hard to make any assumptions. The youngest girls will be 10, 8, 7, and 6 this year! I remember being about 8/9 years old when I wanted a more grown up room as a little girl! I think it is smart to plan ahead, it saves another room overhaul from having to be done in 3ish years :-)
DeleteWhy can't each girl have their own bed? I think they would get better sleep if they didn't have to share a bed with their sister.
ReplyDeleteThree twenty year olds spent the last five years, all adult years, with a pony on the wall, even Josie would outgrow the current room in a few years. The touches that make the room grown up or kiddie girl should be in the accessories, not on the wall. I still think with that much square feet they could have put up a partition or relocated the older girls to another part of the house.
ReplyDeleteNice Bedroom~ Good Job~!!
ReplyDeletePretty,I am changing my room too.
ReplyDeleteI also share a room with my sister.
The old room was much 'happier' the poor younger ones :(
ReplyDeleteplease let try to be more posative
ReplyDeleteI do not like that the picture frames are above the head of the bed. I live in an earthquake state and that is definately a NO NO. If fact the last earthquake I experienced-I was sleeping in bed and the bed shaking woke me up-If I had something like those frames on my wall above my head they may have fallen off the wall onto my head.
ReplyDeletethis is totally amazing!!! I love the way it looks.....so grownup, so pretty, so stylish! I always wanted to have a room that looked like this. glorious job you girls!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteawesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"LIKE" :))
ReplyDeleteSo the little girls are in with the big girls??? Were the little girls there before? In my opinion, the older girls need their own room. Why, on earth, would little ones be placed in with the older girls. The older girls need some privacy from the little ones. The sleigh beds are too large. If they used smaller full size beds, they could probably have two rooms. I’m trying to wrap my head around why everyone is unhappy for the little girls. I’’m unhappy for the older girls sharing a room with giggly little girls. They need two rooms. That way, the little girls could have the pony & the old fashioned stuff while the older girls could have the pretty room. The house looks huge. Wonder how many bedrooms there are.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new look. Will you please share the names of the paint colors? They look amazing!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI agree. I loved the room. The girls must be so happy to have a change.
