I say this with some reluctance as I don't want appear "preachy" to those that are expressing condolences to the family during this time that is undoubtfully extremely difficult. My parents divorced very publicly two days before my 12th birthday. They tried to shelter me from the carnage although I had a sense of heaviness and severity of thebsituation, I awoke on my birthday expecting the small celebration I was accustomed to. Instead relatives showed to my party with long faces and heartfelt words of prayer for my family and myself to prevail through those dark times. Thing was I wanted to be told happy birthday without the long faces. All I'm saying is maybe we can offer Jackson just an all-out "Happy Birthday!" without making mention of our condolences for the plight his family is undergoing. Maybe in a separate thread or wait till tomorrow? Perhaps I'm over sensitive to this situation. I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to do, it's just my first inclination to share my experiences. ReplyDeleteAll families face moral and spiritual issues. Jim Bob and Michelle dealt with a truly serious set of circumstances. They have been criticized for being too strict and naïve with their standards of dating for their children. It seems to me that they have created an atmosphere where the couples can focus on what's important..each other and not physical needs! I applaud them! Their program represents values that many hold close to their hearts. I vote for the continuation of "19 Kids and Counting".

Happy Birthday, Jackson! It appears as if the bottom picture of the Baptism is Justin and Jim-Bob instead of Jackson. It might be a good idea to change it out if it is possible. You gals do such a great job keeping us all updated on the Duggars. Keep up the good work with the webpage

ReplyDeleteI don't understand why all these people supporting Josh are not less concerned about him and more concerned about the girls who's lives he destroyed and are still living with this memory. They may say they forgave him but I don't think deep down it is not an issue for them to some extent. So how about forgetting Josh and thinking of the girls.
