Just over five weeks ago, Israel Dillard was born via emergency C-section. It is hard to believe that at this time last year, Jill and Derick had only been engaged for six weeks and were gearing up for their June 21st wedding. Now, they are first-time parents to a beautiful little big boy. Both mom and baby are doing well, and the Dillards are enjoying parenthood.

I like that Jill posses for the picture now that she has her son like she did when she was pregnant. So cute : )
ReplyDeleteI hate that the grandmother's name listed in the photo banner is "Grandma." Grandma is a role, it's not a name or an identity. Doesn't grandma have a name of her own?
ReplyDeleteREALLY? ??
DeleteSooo happy for Jill !!!
ReplyDeleteLove that she's doing the updates for Israel too!!
Aww, he's so cute!! So glad everything turned out well! :) Praise the LORD!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the posts. I liked it when she posted the pregnancy pictures as the time moved on. Now I like that she's posting baby Israel as he grows.😍
ReplyDeleteIsrael is such a doll, and Jill looks so great after surgery!
ReplyDeleteHe looks really healthy and he is a beautiful baby!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the method of Israel's entry into the world should not matter, and thus does not need to be repeated in each of his updates. He was born. Jill became a mom. He was healthy. End of story.
ReplyDeleteJill was in labor for 70 HOURS. Does that not matter?
DeleteI agree!
DeleteI so agree with Eop and chris....why do they keep focusing on "emergency" c section? The child was born..hes here. Is "emergency c section" a badge of honor? An explanation why he was wasnt born "normal"? An apology.....like the mom failed? That is what it seems like. ?? She shouldnt have to apologize for anything at all!....she gave birth. Congratulations to them!
DeleteEnd of story? Seriously? It's just begun. I for one love hearing updates on them!
DeleteI am sure it wont be to long Jill will be preggers again if not already.
ReplyDeleteAfter a C section? I don't think so!
DeleteLet's hope not! Would be great if Jill has many more months for her body to physically recover and for her and Derick to enjoy bonding with Israel, without being pregnant again...
DeleteYep but she won't get to have a great big family like they wanted because your only allowed up to three c-sections. At least that's what every doc has told me.
DeleteI'm pregnant with #4 and all have been c section plus my first two were 15 months apart, then 22 months apart and now 17 months apart and I've had no complications. This past time my doctor said everything looked as if I'd never had a baby, praise The Lord for great recoveries! :)
DeleteMy best friend had 5.
DeleteYa'll need to add a picture of that cute little guy up at the top!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Y'all need to add him with Jill and derick
DeleteLily and Ellie don't design the banner. A friend of theirs does. So it's out of their hands. Have patience.
DeleteSo cute <3
ReplyDeletePlease-I enjoy the show but are we really going to have to see Jill with her signs again. She is probably a lovely girl but what is the rush about her? No one ever did this with Anna.
ReplyDeleteI also feel sorry for anna. All the hype with the girls weddings and now pregnancies. The attention went straight from jill to jessas pregnancy and no one even thinks about anna giving birth soon.
DeleteI am very happy for all of them, but the 4th baby should get just as much attention and excitement as the first.
When Will you as his picture to the top?
ReplyDeleteHey Lily and Ellie!
ReplyDeleteCan you guys please post weekly pictures like that of Jessa's baby bump? That would be great! ~ Anonymous
Also add that little big guy to the banner with Jill and Derik!
ReplyDeleteWhat is Jessa and Ben Seewald website link?
ReplyDeleteLove the updates, looking forward to a video of Israel .
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this will be a blessing to you Jill just like it has been to your mother.

He is sooo cute! Love the pic! So happy for you all!
ReplyDeleteLove in Christ,
Mary :)
The top banner needs to be updated. Josh's kids pictures need to be updated as well. And add Israel's pic
ReplyDeleteLove the update pic of Jill & Israel.
ReplyDeleteThis is a precious picture- thank you for posting
ReplyDeleteYou need to get a picture of the big guy up top!
ReplyDeleteDon't mean to be rude, but could y'all please post something other than "baby dilly"? I know you are posting some other things, but it gets a little old to see Israel all the time...but an occasional update would be great!!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed the updated photo of Jill and baby Israel. Jill you look great and baby Israel is cute. Thank you for sharing your photos with everyone.
ReplyDeleteI thought everybody said we weren't going to talk about Israel for a month! THAT IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIsrael is precious so everyone KEEP TALKING ABOUT HIM!!! #out to the booers.
P.S can you please post updates on Jessa while we are talking about weekly updates?
Haven't seen any pics of Jill really holding Israel close and cuddling him. He is either draped over Jill in a hands-free position or he is in a sling or he is facing out. It's clear that Derick is bonding with his son, but is Jill?
ReplyDeleteMust there be criticism and speculation about *everything*? The pictures we have seen represent such a small portion of the Dillard's life...I'm sure Jill is spending plenty of *private* bonding time with her son.
DeleteWhy do they swaddle him all the time? He probably wants to get free!
ReplyDeleteSo very nice to se Jill up and about, and back to everyday life again:O)) She looks Wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering why little Israel seems to be swaddled, even when he is not in bed trying to go to sleep? Does this help with something Mom's need to know? Thank you so very much:)
God Bless the sweet Dillard family!!!!:O)))
What about Jessa??
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both on the birth of your first born, a son, Israel, who is a very sweet cute baby. You are so very lucky to have a very special baby boy and I'm sure there will be more coming over the next few years.
ReplyDeleteI've watched your show every Tuesday night and there's not a night when you are on that I miss seeing cause I just love watching your show(s) on a regular basis and I'm always waiting to hear anykind of new news.
I seen the episode where Josie had that terrible seizure and I was so worried about her but I'm sure really glad that she was okay after having to be taken to hospital by ambulance and was able to go back home that same night. It was really nice to see when Josie was re-united with your parents when they came back home. I'm sure it was very hard on your parents when Josie had her health crisis and they weren't at home but Jana sure did a great job and the best she could have done under the circumstances.
I believe I recently heard that Jessa & Ben are expecting now and I wish them all the very best and hope everything goes great with her pregnancy and birth of their child.
Thank you and your entire family for putting on a great show every week and I'm gonna make sure that I don't miss the season finale of your show which is on Tuesday, May 19/2015 where I live in Regina, SK, CANADA. I hope your show comes back on very soon after the finale show!!
Thanks for your shows every week as I sure look forward to seeing them all the time!!

Now that is a beautiful way to comment, I love to read remarks like yours :-) I agree with everything you said.US Duggar fans are »»»United and Duggar strong:-D
DeleteJill looks like she is going to drop the baby if he wiggles. It's a big risk to take just for a photo.
ReplyDeleteHe was almost the double size and weight i was when i was born! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Here is Jill and her son Israel. The rest is unnecessary. The episode aired. No need to make a teaser for it anymore. It's too easy for the description to become habit.
ReplyDeleteJill and Israel look great. Israel looks like Jim Bob- definitely has the Duggar look. I am sure Jill is very happy. I know Derick is smart and wants to take great care of his wife. Knowing what Jill went through giving birth, I think they will wait a little while before having another baby. I am sure he wants her to recover fully in every way. Thanks for the updates.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! Continue updating us
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet of Jill and the baby is just to cute
ReplyDeleteJill your baby is getting so big .I amva FAM of yours
DeleteIsrael is handsome little man and congratulations to you and your husband .
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie. I talk with joy- An . She's a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteHe's darling.
ReplyDeleteWow, Jill, you look great. It seems you lost all of post-pregnancy pounds. And the baby's very sweet.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't care for the term "baby bump"?
ReplyDeleteNo you are not. I don't care for the term "expecting". Why don't the Duggars use the term "pregnant"? They always same that "so and so is expecting". Has anyone else noticed this??
DeleteWhat a handsome boy. Jill, hope you are feeling stronger and better. God Bless you and yours.

I'm glad your continuing the pregnancy thing with the child that you bore a little over a month ago that was your pregnant belly! Creative!!
ReplyDeleteFirst off....I love the pic. I'm a photographer and one of my favorite things to do is a before and after shot of moms and the belly and babies. :)
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I'm not sure why I always feel the need to skim the comments, haha. Sooo many opinions and dare I say, demands on this page....goodness. Lily and Ellie, thanks for taking the time to share the pictures and information on the Duggars. I'm sorry you can't please everyone, I know how that goes. Thanks for your patience and doing what you do anyway. Us Duggar fans are grateful to you!!! =)
Yes, wish she had taken picture of Israel without the blanket so you can see his actual size and cute clothes, so if she keeps posting will be able to see how he is growing.
ReplyDeleteReally rude to speculate that Jill is already pregnant again or will be shortly. It is none of anyone's business, first of all. But secondly, Israel is only five weeks and they are likely still abstaining. Jill knows a thing or two about keeping a post-partum mama healthy!
ReplyDeleteAlso would like to add that Drs cannot force you to have no more than three c-sections. That's just silly. They may advise no more than that, but the Dillards have said they will leave their family planning up to God. Doesn't change because of a C-section!
When Anna and jessa baby arrive I think it will be time to update the header!!!! I can't want to find out what josh and Anna call baby number 4 and can't wait to find out what gender jessa and bens baby is. It's all too exciting that I can not cope!!!! 😝 3 grandduggars in 1 year. That's crazy!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Jill was in hard labor for 70 hrs and why did she wait that long to have the baby but overall glad baby Israel and Jill are ok
ReplyDeleteUgh, SERIOUSLY FOLKS, do y'all really need to find every little nitpicking reason to bash this family with evey single post...LIGHTEN up...REALLY! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteCute
ReplyDeletehope majorie stays true to herself and continues to be HERSELF which is she wears PANTS ! good for her. you donts have to wear skirts/dresses to be loved by God and or to be a Christian (they wear pants too) esther graber huntsburg ohio mennontie mom of 13 and LOVES GOD
ReplyDeleteJill and Derrick, so happy for you! Israel is a beautiful baby boy and I'm sure he is a tremendous blessing. And Jill, you look so happy, you practically glow with joy! I'm sure you are loving motherhood! Best wishes for you all.
ReplyDeleteGrace
@AnonymousMy grandchildren call me Grandma. That’s my name to them & my identity to my grandchildren. I don’t see anything wrong with calling Grandma Duggar, Grandma. If you come from a multi-generation family, it might make more sense for you. As soon as the first grandchild is born, you are forevermore Grandma in your family. If you like, they could add her last name, & make it Grandma Duggar. I’m curious, are you from a different country? No offense intended at all. It’s just that I’ve never heard a comment such as yours in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tremendous blessing!..Hope you're feeling better and stronger,Jill. So happy for you and Derick!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! So cute!
ReplyDeleteYou have got to put more pictures of him on the blog!
when is his picture going to be on all the family's pictures on the front?
-Brandyn Marie
Is she going to start posting daily or weekly pix of herself and the baby in that same pose now? Groan..
ReplyDeleteI think she will announce another pregnancy within the next few months. No waiting.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is so opinionated these days. GIVE IT A REST WITH THE PHOTO HOUNDING!
ReplyDeleteIt would be easier for Lily and Ellie to change the photos after the grandbabies are born.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are going through this nightmare just after a beautiful baby is born and 2 more on the way. I as a parent totally get why you wanted to keep what your 15 y.o. Son did a secret. Not everything from a family needs to be exposed. I would have done the same thing. However a boy that age is very curious about the female body and he was kept so secluded from it that he found another way. Hopefully for the other boys you allow there curiosity to be fed someway. We live and we learn.
