19 Kids and Counting "Family Dinner"
- The Duggar boys help Jessa and Ben unload their "new-to-them" furniture. Meanwhile, Jill and Derick head to Washington D.C. to visit Josh and Anna. Josh plans to teach Derick a thing or two about parenting.
- When the Dillards arrive in D.C., Josh and Derick take Mackynzie, Michael, and Marcus shopping to buy food for dinner. Derick learns how to buckle the kids into their car seats.
- "Right now I can't imagine shopping with this many kids on my own someday," says Derick, as Mackynzie and Michael run through the aisles saying, "Daddy, Daddy, we need this!" But Derick knows he will adapt to fatherhood when Baby Dilly arrives.
- Josh and Derick prepare dinner, and the ladies love it. "Josh and I and the kids had a blast with Jill and Derick," says Anna.
- Jill and Anna, who are both expecting, enjoy talking about pregnancy. The ladies write out encouraging Bible verses and quotes and organize them onto an inspiration board to read from during labor.
- Back in Arkansas, Jessa makes her first meal as a married woman. "I'm not the best cook," says the new bride. "It's just my tradition to burn something. It just wouldn't be a proper meal if I didn't scorch something a little bit."
- After preheating the oven, she opens the door and realizes she was cooking the owner's manual. She also uses a hammer in place of a meat tenderizer. But despite her unconventional methods, Jessa's meal is a big hit. Her hubby loves it.
19 Kids and Counting "Nesting and Room Re-Do"
- The seven Duggar girls still living at home prepare to remodel their room, which has had yellow walls since the Duggars built the house almost ten years ago. They want to give it a more mature feel. Cindy, Michelle's best friend from childhood, comes over to help. They settle on burnt orange, dark gray, and light gray for paint colors.
- Jim Bob says the girls' room is his favorite room in the house because it is bright and cheerful. He tries to convince his daughters to leave the pained tree and horse, but the girls insist on covering them up.
- In D.C., Josh and Anna take their kids to an appointment with their midwife, Marsha Jackson, at BirthCare. Marsha has delivered more than 3,000 babies. Mackynzie and Michael love being able to hear the baby's heartbeat. Josh and Anna admit they are nervous about not having family around for the birth.
- Michelle, Jill, and Jessa meet up to shop for Baby Dilly's nursery furniture. "Jill is expecting her first child, and I am so excited to be a grandma again," says Michelle.
- Grandma Duggar and Jana take care of the kids while Jim Bob and Michelle are in Chicago for a meeting. Josie has a seizure, and Grandma Duggar calls 9-1-1 while Jana and Scott, the Duggars' director and photographer, carry out the instructions given by the dispatcher.
- Josie seizes for about ten minutes before the paramedics arrive. Jana jumps in the ambulance and heads to the hospital with her youngest sister. "It makes your heart drop," says Michelle, as she remembers the moment she found out that Josie had had a seizure. "You just feel so incapable of doing anything."
- Because of her premature birth, Josie has had several seizures, which are brought on when her temperature spikes.
- Doctors are able to get Josie's fever under control, and they send her home. By the next day, she is as good as new. Jim Bob and Michelle return from Chicago, and Josie runs and gives them a big hug. "Reuniting with my parents was amazing," says Jana. "I was so glad to have them back."
Scariest episode yet! Your Josie is 5 days older than my mikaela, and blonde as can be as well. My mini also started in the nicu somehow that's always made me care so much for her, thank God she's OK
ReplyDeleteyes I did.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Josie is doing wonderful again praise god . The show was so heartwarming that I cried when Josie had her seizure, and had to go to the hospital. God is wonderful he works in wonderful ways amen and god bless to you all.
ReplyDeleteI knew it...I just knew it...TLC waited until the last five minutes of the show for Josie' s seizure. They tease us all week and then give us the least amount of material possible. We care about this little girl...we have walked through all her trial and tribulations and prayed for her...I'm just so disappointed .
ReplyDeleteWhy did only the older girls only get a say so in what the bedroom should look like.
ReplyDeleteDid not like the grey walls. I like the horse on the wall better.
ReplyDeleteI thought all the girls from the oldest to the youngest share the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteBut it did not show any of the younger one picking out what the room should look like.
The bedroom looks to old for the younger Dugger girls.
ReplyDeleteIts okay for the older ones.
Why? Did they not go half part of the bedroom could have been done for the older girls. The other half for the younger girls.
ReplyDeleteI thought they shared the room.
The bedroom needed more younger looking thing for Children under 4 years old. Where was the teddy bears comforter or rainbow on the walls or Noah ark. Why just make it for the older girls.
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow walls better and the butterflies. Bring them back.
ReplyDeleteLet the younger children pick a wall and have a say so! Its their bedroom to.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that the girls can have more space in there bedroom , could have a another dresser or a doll house . Good that the girls can grow up with out the horses . I think that a mirror or even have crosses or have book shelf with photos would make the room more cozy . :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching 19 kids & counting. It's values that are instilled in families are amazing. I can't imagine how Michelle & Joe Bob felt as they were in Chicago during Josie's sudden illness. Thanks to the production crew as they went into action. Grandma Dugger calling 911, you could see the fear on Jana's face. Thank God for his healing. My baby brother who is now 47 years old used to have febrile seizures . He out grew them. God continue to bless each & everyone...
ReplyDeletePoor poor Jana....
ReplyDeleteI guess this is now the second time that Jana has been the caregiver when Josie ended up in the hospital. Too bad that Michelle couldn't make it back in time to get to the hospital. Seems like Michelle is away quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Was just noticing the page banner...time to add a photo of baby Israel next to his mommy n daddy's picture!! :) Have a blessed day, hugs n love from NY
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if Michelle and Jim Bob do any actual child care or housework I've never actually seen them do either. It just seems as if they delegate all responsibilities onto their children . What parent does not get on the next immediate flight to rush home to a child in the emergency room?
ReplyDeleteI know men are different from women in how they do things but what do they think a shopping cart is for if not to the children? Don't let them run amuck.
ReplyDeleteMackenzie is beautiful-the look on her face when she held the Doppler and looked at her Dad-priceless. Perhaps now people will ease off Josie in a stroller/she tires easier than the others.
ReplyDeleteI love the show, it is the best wholesome show on TV. Derick I am praying for all of Nepal and I pray your friends you made there are ok. I am so glad Josie is ok. Loved the show last night. Your family gives hope to others, I wish I had, had the upbringing like you have done with your family. God bless you all always.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but the Duggars allowing Josie's seizure to be aired is all about ratings . Once Josie is older and realizes everyone saw it, she may be embarrassed. Discretion Michelle and Jim Bob please!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pale yellow walls were so pretty in the girls' room. Burnt orange and gray for a little girls' room? Covering up the beautiful horse mural? What are they thinking?!!
ReplyDeleteI have received much encouragement from the Duggars over the years, but last night's second episode left me truly disturbed and saddened. Josie's health is not a jurisdiction to be handed off to an older child. This is twice (that we know of) that Jana has had to make life and death decisions for Josie in the midst of a seizure, when her parents were out of town. The first time they were out of the country. On last night's episode they were in Chicago. It broke my heart to see Jana so frightened, and then hear her say she was glad her parents were back because it's "overwhelming" to deal with. It made me sad to hear Michelle so calmly, with a smile on her face, describe Josie's seizures as a "quirk". It's not like this is a surprise. Josie has a history of seizures. That is not a "quirk". It is a medical condition. I am a mother of twins who were born prematurely, and both of my children have had various health issues. I do not leave them in the care of others for extended periods of time, because I don't want my friends and relatives to bear the burden of making health choices for my children. That is my responsibility. It has meant not being able to travel away from my children, but that is simply the right thing to do. It is indeed overwhelming, as Jana rightly pointed out. But that is a job for the parents. Having said that...Sweet Jana, you were amazing. I pray that was the last time you will have to bear that burden, and am glad that Josie is stable again.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more on that one! Plus on top of that as a parent I would have really left the part of my daughter having a seizure out of the show! I'm sorry but even a reality show should have limits... They seem to be too much into the business already...
DeleteI would be interested in hearing why the Duggars prefer doing home births with midwives. I live in a large city and have only known one person who chose to deliver at home. I know most people don't like hospitals, but that seems to be the best place to deliver in case something goes wrong.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be something confusing here about diagnosing Josie's seizures as febrile seizures when it's happened numerous times, factoring in her age as well -now five. That diagnosis doesn't quite add up. Why didn't her parents get back right away? I guess maybe this is why Josie needed the use of a stroller during the fall? Could someone please start being honest about some of this stuff.
ReplyDeleteLoved the content of the show! Lots of variety.
ReplyDeleteOnly complaint is that it could do with a lot less repeating scenes of what is to come.
So on a scale of 1 to 10 for content, I'd give it a " 10" for content.
For everything else including repeat scenes, a much lower number.
Loved the show as always, so glad Josie is all right !
ReplyDeleteSorry to see all the art work covered with new paint. Wish they would have left the horse up because Jennifer wanted it to stay so badly.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
I think that Israel should have his photo in the line up at the top of the page!
ReplyDeleteJosie's health scare was frightening, the terror in Jana's expression coupled with Scott Enlow's obvious distress was alarming, but I am so glad she is all better now! Very touching at the end when JimBob and Michelle came in to discover a happy healthy Josie. Very tender moment. And way to go James for recognizing so quickly that there was a problem!!
ReplyDeleteCan you post a befor and after ong the duggar girls room?
ReplyDeleteSo her mom and sisters picked out the decorations and he dad picked out their furniture?
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world aren't the older girls afforded some privacy? Maybe build a wall of some sort to make two rooms? I feel sorry for them
ReplyDeleteIt was the girls choice, if you watched the show from the beginning then you would know that is how they wanted it.They are a very close family, I think that's pretty cool and selfless :-)
DeleteDerrick doesn't need to be concerned about not knowing how to deal with children. The beautiful thing about having a baby is that you grow as they grow. You learn what to do when they need you to and when you need to learn that. It's how it is. If they were first-time parents adopting an older child, then they'd need to learn things first.
ReplyDeleteA 360 video of the girls room would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with Josh and Anna's kids!!! OMW THEY ARE TOOOOOOO CUTE! "There is a pig running around with no feet!" They are soooo cute. "I don't think Derick watches little kids very much, but he might be a great dad though." I also think Anna is just the sweetest thing and such a caring mom. Who is very genuine and loves her kids. Josh is very lucky.
ReplyDeleteJosies's seizure confirms how I have always felt about Jana she just is the BEST!!! I cried at her face 'please'. I felt so bad. I can only imagine her feelings at that point. How hectic and scary it must have been. I am going to say that seeing Jessa just get a hold of Josie when she got home... I'm thinking she's going to be a good mom.
-Grace
You said exactly what I wanted to say too :-) So funny about the pigs feet and then so touching about Jana/Jessa/Josie. I was shaking with fear for poor Jana, I felt like I was there.
DeleteI was very shocked about Josie having a seizure, mainly because they showed it so often before this last series started and then when they showed it last Tuesday they really made no big deal over it. Then we find out Josie has had several seizures since she's been born. Why did you guys keep this so hush hush and never spoke about this before? You all made it sound like this was the first time it happened, I was so scared for her. This should have been way preempted to let us know it wasn't the first time. A little deceiving I would say. If this is reality, tell us about it with the first time she had it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should remember that we are not entitled to know every detail of the Duggars' lives just because they are on TV. If they want to keep certain things private that is certainly their right. All of us who profess to care about them should respect that.
DeleteI have to say that I'm just a little disappointed that they Duggars seem to be straying from their "Buy Used and Save the Difference" principles. They weren't buying used baby furniture for Jill's house. I love the show and the Duggars but wish they'd return to their core values a bit.
ReplyDeleteAgree. That mottos seems to have gone by the wayside now.
DeleteThats is JimBob and Michelle's motto, when their children leave home they set their own rules for their new home.Yes, the parents set the foundation and the kids must abide by their rules while still at home, but when you leave and cleave you have the freedom to choose what works best for your new life.
DeleteUsed babycribs, carseats, strollers, pack n plays arent things that might be up to code or safety standards.
DeleteThere seems to be so little reality in this show. I agree that the Duggars no longer shop
ReplyDeleteat used stores. I do miss who they used to be in the early days. It does seem if they
are just movie stars living a opulent life style.
I think we fans forget that the Duggar family lets us in on their lives - part time. The cameras are not rolling 24/7 catching every detail. Josie's seizures in the past might not have happened during filming before. Heavens, we don't know nor do we need to know every health detail of that family. Febrile seizures are scary and I am thankful for Jana, Grandma, and the paramedics for taking care of Josie.
ReplyDeleteI saw that in the girls room there are only four beds, but there are 7 Duggar sisters at home, I would really like to know where they sleep, two for each bed?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jordyn and Josie , Jennifer and Johanna share a bed, but also two of the older girls????
The room looked a lot better than I had imagined. The color looked to me like a deep salmon pink, not burnt orange. Almost seemed like they used Jessa's wedding colors.
ReplyDeleteThe girls wanted to share one big room. It was their choice, so we don't have to feel bad for them.
ReplyDeleteI hope they show us the results of the CAT scan. I'm wondering what it said. It sounded like this seizure was longer and more frightening in severity than the others she's had. i think that's why they showed it.
ReplyDeleteBuying used baby furnature is not always the best unless you now who owned it. For a first baby it is best to buy new. The Duggars also say that they try to buy used not that they always buy used. The kids make up their own minds as to when to buy new or used.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they show the results of the scat scan??? I guess I love the family so much plus when I have watched the shows and know most of the answers to the questions. It seems like more this year than ever people just picks them apart. But when 4.5 million watch Jill and Dericks wedding I'm sure they get lots of fan support. Yes they showed Josie was in the hospital and had a seizure and Jim and Michelle had to hurry home. God Bless this family and please stay on TV.
ReplyDeleteI don't think buying your first child a new crib, which you can be assured is up to current safety codes and which you will use for your future children, is an extravagance by any stretch of the imagination.
ReplyDeleteMy 3rd child (out of 9) had febrile convulsions just like Josie. Her last one 4 years ago lasted for two hours as the paramedics couldnt stop it. She was in intensive care two times, had another 8 mini seizures and had a lumbar puncture and spent 5 weeks in hospital. MRI scans showed that basicly the right hand side of her brain was fried.
ReplyDeleteIf the Dr only offered a catscan he couldnt of been too worried. Otherwise he would of gone straight for an MRI.
BTW: My child is fine now. The cause? 2 strains of the common cold.
I wonder if Josie has epilepsie.
