Jill Dillard is 10 days past her due date, and Baby Dilly still hasn't arrived. She and Derick Dillard enjoyed a Good Friday lunch date at a Mexican restaurant, hoping the spicy food will jump start Jill's labor.

ReplyDeletePlease tell Jill that she would most likely start in labor if she would drink 4 oz. of castor oil! My doctor recommended it and it worked for me over 50 years ago and it would probably work for her! Blessings...
ReplyDeleteDon't get me going....I think Jill should be in the community's health centre and avail herself and her baby input from doctors. I think she should deliver in a birthing room there. The baby could be induced and be fine because it is viable, what is this bake thing? Maybe the baby is so big that her body can't get a good labor up and running. I would not be so relaxed if I were her.

ReplyDeleteAt this point, Jill's chances of a home birth may be shot. She's going to need to either have midwife break her water or go tohosp and ge induced. Any midwife won't let her go more than to 42 wks. There's probably meconium in the amiotic water. I went to 41 wks w/ my last. I'm sure she's tried castor oil, but don't spicy food will help much at this point.

ReplyDeleteHave been thinking about Jill almost daily. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job with this blog, for giving us the latest updates! No need to worry; I'm sure it's well-known that first babies often get so comfortable that they are not ready to come out yet for the announced due-date. I know that was the case with mine. I don't imagine the Duggars believe in inducing labor. But this little one will make his appearance when he and God are ready for him to! Much love to Jill and Derick, and to Baby Dilly. Have a blessed Good Friday everyone, and Happy Easter! Wouldn't it be something if Baby Dilly's birthday fell on Resurrection Sunday! :)

ReplyDeleteJill is radiant! My daughter was due on Valentine's Day and was born on March 2nd - 16 days after her due date!

ReplyDeleteI do sincerely hope that all goes well for Jill and her son; however, being that they are such strict Christians, I absolutely believe that eating out at a Mexican restaurant is NOT appropriate for Good Friday; a Christian day of atonement..also I don't think eating spicy foods is "leaving it up to God" like they say they with everything....

ReplyDeleteWell, hearing that Jill is trying to induce labor naturally is at least good news to me. I know that as a midwife I'm sure she has good knowledge that her baby doesn't need to stay in there much longer, but I didn't know if she was trying any methods at all. I'm guessing over the next couple days if nothing happens, she'd be willing to go to the hospital to get induced if necessary, so that makes me feel better. :)

ReplyDeleteMy first baby was 10 days late. I hope Jill does not go too much longer because I think her baby boy is already a good size. She and Derick look so happy. Maybe she will have an Easter baby. Does a widwife let a pregnant woman stay pregnant for over 42 weeks? I am curious about if there is a certain point that is beyond what is good for baby and the momma.

ReplyDeleteI don't care what anybody says, I don't think having a baby is an exact science. I don't think 10 days past due is all that big of a deal. Especially with a first baby. Good for Jill for waiting, she knows that baby will come when it's good and ready. She's also smart enough to know to monitor the baby and pay heed to any warning signals. My second baby was due March 23rd and he didn't make his appearance until April 26th and he was just fine. Let nature take its course for petes sake. Or is that not the way we do it in this technological age? We say trust in the Lord but do live by that saying? I have a feeling she'll have a perfectly healthy baby in God's time.

I'm sure this will freak people out, but I was 3 1\2 weeks late with my baby and I still had her at home! She was 10 lbs 11oz. Every thing went good! And that was in 2010!

ReplyDeleteAfter the due date the placenta will start to break down so most doctors do not let the mother go much past. Hope everything works out well! God Bless!!
ReplyDeleteJill, I love your attitude about your baby's due date. My first baby was born at 43 weeks (confirmed by doctor). I don't think they let you do that anymore. Hopefully, he'll be born on Easter Sunday like mine was! Happy delivery!
