Watch Jill's Delivery


Baby Dilly still hasn't made his debut, but TLC is giving him an eviction notice. The network just announced they it plans to air a two-hour episode featuring the delivery on Tuesday, May 5th.

Jill Dillard is seven days overdue and feeling great. She and Derick are still planning for a home birth with a team of midwives. Jana will assist as Jill's doula (birthing coach). The couple has not announced their baby's name, so stay tuned.

    I've heard that if you ride a mechanical bull at 40 weeks or later, it
    will induce labor in about 1 hour. I think it weakens to sac containing the embryonic
    fluid. Hope this helps.

    Aww Jill! I am so excited for your impending arrival, Baby Dilly looks to be arriving on his own terms. That is okay, my son was 10 days late and thankful because he was beautiful! Wishing you an easy delivery and quick too!

    Can't wait to hear of his arrival! So happy for the awaiting parents to be! I LOVE this family so much! Such a refreshing show to watch with my 6 year old son and he loves it.     The farthest I made it was 39 weeks (I also had a 36 weeker and a 25 weeker). Bless your heart for being such a trooper!! I am praying for a safe, smooth, and worshipful delivery. Congrats!!!

    drink lots of water and get tons of sleep ,cause after he comes you wont have time.for much.dont go too much longer its harder on them than you and they come dried out and oversized.
    had that problem when mine were born at 42 weeks.and it was a lot harder.on both of us.

    I'm on pins and needles ...AND I'm thrilled TLC is going to show the birth:-)Michelle and Anna did the very same thing so why not Jill...I can't wait :) I'm sure it will be done in good taste just like before...after all, modesty is a Duggar must... so no need to worry there :-)

    Awe poor thing 7 days overdue! I pray for a happy healthy baby and a healthy mama once you do go into labor! Thank you for sharing such a personal experience with the works as we have seen you grow up now we get to see your little ones grow up! One ?     i'm glad tlc listened to everyone and will be making this 'special' show much closer to 'real time'.     I am happy for Jill and Derick at this magical point in their lives but saddened that a lifetime of media exposure and parental example means that this wonderful personal event will be a public one. Jessa and Ben impressed of by keeping their intensely personal first kiss as a private moment, not acting in to parental expectations. It would be great if Jill said no to TLC making money from per babies birth. I know this will make of unpopular but I am sad that the Duggars have sold themselves and their children as a tv commodity and this is happening with the next generation too. I wish Jill a healthy happy baby and a good birth.

    I hope Jill knows what she is doing. I also hope that a "team of midwives" would perform the very same tests and/or analysis of Jill's situation regarding the size of Jill's baby and the "size" of Jill! How does a midwife assess the amount of amniotic fluid present and the size of this baby? I understand both are of major concern for both of their safeties. I'd consult an ob/gyn stat if I were Jill and her team. Hopefully all will go without incident.

      I see the love and closeness of all the kids and the whole extended family. It makes me so happy to see how good an honest humble people they are..but kinda makes me wish I could have grown up in such wonderful home.even with the chaos of 19 kids..and now more grandkids soon.

    I'm so excited! I could be pacing the floor! I've watched the show since there were only 13 Duggar children and it's been so interesting watching Michelle and Jim Bob's immediate household grow to 19 and now lessen as each child goes on to establish their own households! I know some people were anxious to see these kids 'fail' in the world, having been what some consider sheltered. Kudos to Michelle and Jim Bob for raising such a beautiful family with firm standards. I'd take them as neighbors any day!

    It would be nice to see photos of a newborn, but I don't understand the need to televise the birth. Are people really that interested? For a couple who wouldn't even admit or mention while engaged that they were looking forward to sexual intimacy once they're married, it seems strange they'd want the world to be present for something as beautiful and intimate as a birth.

    I think its wonderful they want to do the home birth, but being that late or later can be dangerous for both mother and baby, Jill should absolutely see a Dr and make sure she doesn't have to go c-section ..for the health of the baby...if the Dr says the baby's still good for him birth then go for it...but please make sure ..if not it can cause all kinds of problems for little dilly...good luck can't wait to see him

    This is good to know, I will be watching. I think they will fit Derick's dads name in somewhere with another name they choose. I think the baby will come with the next moon. I believe the earths pull helps the baby come. THe full moon is April 3.

    Jill I have 6 babies.....24, 17, 14, 11, 8 and 6. ALL of them have been past my due date......anywhere from induced 5 days past to scheduled induction 15 days past but arrived at hospital in early labor.     I wish her a peacefull birth and a wonderfull recovery! I remember the birth of my third child, who was also overdue. My baby girl was born naturally at 40 weeks and 6 days, after a prayer that I have done the night before (asking God for a natural birth), 1 day before the date scheduled for induction, and 5 days after changing from one obstetrician to another.

    Jill and Derrick, wishing you much luck. Please, please, consider that you are carrying very large, the baby is overdue, please consider getting an Epidural Painkiller for your labor and delivery- many Hospitals have more Natural Birthing Roomsmwith Birthing Tubs and Doulahs. Jill, consider how Kelly encouraged Whitney to be spared the pain for so many hours. Jill, please consider it - it is a MORE spiritual experience when you are not in terrible pain, and oxygen is available and a C-Section team is standing by- a large baby can get stuck in the birth canal and would require a C-Section. Please allow my posting, I am only wishing the very best for Jill.

    This is exciting news my prediction is that this 2 hour delivery special will be the season finale to the show.. and if the rumors are true about Jessa and Ben expecting a baby I am almost positive that they will either announce it a week before the delivery special to boost ratings thru the roof or wait a week after to not take away from baby dilly's birth special

    I pray she has a safe healthy and amazing birth. Believe me she is way stronger than I would be. I want DRUGS lol. When I had my baby (who's now 35) we didn't have all the drugs and stuff but if I did it theses days you can bet I would. I don't know how these amazing mother have a natural birth. It just amazes me. I hurt right along with them when I see it. I pray the Dilliards have a short labor. Prayers are going up for them. God bless you two and Little Dilly Boy.

    Lots of fun natural ways to induce labor there is always spicy food which we know they both love, a nice long wall ( or wattle as it would be at 9 months plus). And one more not aprroprate to post. Good luck and exited to meet the new Dillard.

    I am also super excited for them..My 9 year old granddaughter loves the Show and family as I do..When the Show is coming on Emma ( my granddaughter ) always tries to say their names in order while Michelle is..I get a kick out of her stumbling on all the J names..Best wishes for a speedy,,safe, easy delivery.

    Why are home births so important to these folks? Isn't the health of your baby the most important thing, so you'd want to be as close as possible to a hospital in case of disaster?

    I'm not sure why God is making Jill have such a long pregnancy. She's overdue by quite a bit which is going to make the birth much more painful. Why is she being punished like this? So sad.

      Perhaps you should check your facts and also do some reading on pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Jill is less than a week over due and "due dates" can vary by as much as two weeks either way. Having a baby after the due date has no effect on how painful labor will be.

    I conceived on July 5, and delivered on April 5, which this year is going to be the 1st time in her 33 years that her birthday will be on Easter Sunday. A great day to be born! All my deliveries were "technically overdue", but all in God's perfect timing. All were natural births and normal size, healthy babies. May your labor be short and your baby healthy! And may God bless your family abundantly!

    Well, being that May 2nd is a little over a month away, Jill will definitely have her baby by then. She was due March 24 and the baby won't be over a month late. So TLC isn't giving an eviction notice as it's a fact she'll definitely deliver by then.

    How Jill chooses to have her baby only will affect her life, no one else's...So why does it bother so many?     May the Lord be with you...My Dr. was a obstetrician/midwife practice, and he could not count. I was as big as you and ended up having a 10 pd. 7 oz baby, after forced labor, natural attempt with instruments...that caused maternal and fetal distress, injury,infection that nearly took our life!
    All my doctor had to do, was know what to do in emergency situation. I am grateful that Jesus was there and came to our rescue when there was confusion.
    Be wise, listen to your God given common sense...If you are not showing any signs, that is a sign..my pelvis was too small and baby was too big which equals...C-section.
    May Gods will be done. May He give you wisdom in all you do. Congratulations mother to be!

    It seems that countries outside the US and Canada are more delayed in showing the latest episodes, so it will probably be a while before the wedding episode airs in the UK.

    I believe that all 3 births of Anna and Josh have been filmed by TLC. Always very tasteful and modest. Also some home births that Jill and Jana have attended have been filmed. Do people want to see this? Yes, we definitely do. It's part of life. The family also filmed the funeral service for baby Jubilee, also a part of their lives. I believe this Duggar family IS doing what they intend the show to do, to help show people how to raise a family in a Godly way, and it is very real, and very beautiful, and very inspiring. Thank you, Duggar family. You are helping so many people, from young to old, that you will never know how much good you are doing in teaching, guiding, and showing how to raise a wonderful family, and have a loving marriage. As well as showing that it is possible to date, court, and stay chaste until marriage, a message that is needed in this age where it seems a majority of young people are living together before marriage. Thank you TLC for supporting and filming this wonderful family.
