I live not too far from there, maybe two hours away from Tybee! I would love to have had the opportunity to go to the Southern Women's Show and see her!

ReplyDeleteSo sweet. Wow that went by fast....they already got vacations at their jobs, doesn't even seem like a year yet. What do they do for a living again? Wht field is the young man in....what a blessing they are paid so well to afford Paris and then a beach vacation all within a year....when my husband and i were newlyweds we didnt go on vacations for many years! So i am very happy this young couple has lucrative income.......vacations are important when you work hard all year! I am new here.....do they work in law or maybe medical field? They look so young but maybe they are older than appear?

ReplyDeleteReply to the question asking about how Ben affords to take Jessa on vacations. He works for Jessa's father and he has done really well for himself, he is 19 years old. Not sure what Jessa does? She decorated their house pretty nicely and she is making appearances at these fashion shows to talk about hair and make up and her family. Love this family and their values, great show.

what do they do for work . i know amos(my husband) cant take off often we have 13 kids to to bring with us. also when we were nearly married our trip was a missionary as we are mennonite and dont take honymoons. just curious why duggar women dont cover there hair. as it says in the Bible? we have little prayer camps also avoid picture since they are a graven image. could you please explain or have them do it . esther graber huntsburg ohio mom of 13 mennonite and LOVES GOD!
ReplyDeleteIn the bible it tells women to cover their heads in church. Not all the time. It also says not to make a graven image and worship it. So, in other words- idols. A picture of a loved one is simply a reminder, or keepsake, of them. Catholics, who were the very first Christians, have many beautiful statues and pictures in their churches, but they don't worship them, only use them for instruction and to instill devotion. Congrats on 13 kiddos, you have us beat by one!!!
DeleteWe don't wear hair coverings because it says in the bible that a woman's head needs to be covered but if you read closely ahead it says that that's why God gave her a full head of long hair to use in place of a veil so we don't use a cap or veil but we don't cut our hair short we leave it long like it says in the bible.

ReplyDeleteNo, Ben works for Jim Bob doing odd jobs for him on his rental properties and on the Duggar homestead. He is finishing up his AA degree online. Jessa doesn't work or attend college. She babysits her siblings mostly.
How does ben pay for college? Are they in married student housing? What is jes studying? Do you think they got scholarships? How long tik they graduate?
DeleteIt seems so strange this ben man is a struggling college student but is he employed full time somewhere and how do they vacation and dine out all the time and pay rent and car payments. They live alone rite?

ReplyDeleteThey have been married 4 months. Research has shown that it can take many couples up to a year or more to become pregnant even if nothing is being done to prevent it. People need to stop obsessing over this...it is between Jessa and Ben and God.
DeleteAmen! That's exactly what I was saying! It's almost like people think these young women don't have any worth unless they become pregnant right away. There's more to a woman than just the ability to bear children!!!!
DeleteAs a 54 year old educated with a career mother to 5 children, 2 of which are girls, I learnt from my deceased mother how it is important to have a solid foundation to one's house for it to weather life's challenges. It is very important for woman to have a good education and career to protect herself from life events not in her control like death, injury and sickness. Too many of our very poor are woman with children who never thought anything would ever happen to them! When one is young, nobody ever thinks anything will ever happen to them but life sometimes throws us a left curve ball as I have experienced myself and we as woman need to prepare ourselves with this possibility! The Duggar girls are very fortunate to be able to remain under the parent financial umbrella, even after married but this will not last forever and if they do not have skills to get a good paying job, it could become very difficult for them later in life! Just a thought and happy international woman's day!

DeleteShe's not pregnant because they've only been married a few months. You only have a small window each month in order to get pregnant so it's not odd at all that they're not pregnant yet. And being pregnant isn't the end-all-be-all of getting married. Maybe they want to enjoy their honeymoon and actually get to know each other before having children.
ReplyDeleteBen's hat is I think to keep his hair together, he always worries about his hair, and they showed so many time like Jessa or Joy were arranging his hair, and he was always concerned about it :). He's got great hair, I think he should show it more often!!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why everyone is having an issue with their travels. Clearly, they have been blessed with the ability to take vacations this early in their marriage, and to be honest, if I was in their situation, I would be doing the exact same thing. They've already talked about adoption, and I'm hoping God will bless them with children of their own. Once babies are in the picture, it makes things 10x as difficult for travels. Let them enjoy being young newlyweds! They are both still young, so I say go spread your wings as a beautiful couple. Also, why are people wondering why she isn't pregnant yet? Yes, with their religion they don't believe in birth control, but why rush them? God will bless them with babies when the time is right. Ben and Jessa, you are an amazing couple and I am SO happy for you that you are doing some exploring together. Go, have some fun!

ReplyDeleteTo the person who asked if jessa gets paid at Savannah.....maybe she makes a small stipend? Most of us are having trouble understanding how that is perceived as a real job? That keeps the bills paid? Do these "speaking jobs" provide benefits and pay for medical, dental etc. And a chance for advancement and job security and a long term career? What are jess career goals? These seem to be fair questions .....and they never get addressed on the ministry show or the blogs

ReplyDeleteJessa reminds me of Angelina Jolie but much more beautiful and pure! Jessa and Ben could be actors! A couple of successful moviies and they would have their own income. They are such a lovely couple to see. As for their kissing their probably subconsciously making up for the times they couldn't kiss while courting!

ReplyDeleteMost would say Tybee was Blessed by Jessa and Ben coming to Tybee, but I would say Jessa and Ben is the Blessed one! Tybee is such an Awesome Island! God was really showing off when He made Tybee! Enjoy it while you are there Ben and Jessa! I'm jealous I'm not there! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThere sure seem to be a lot of jealous people on here so concerned with how this couple makes money. My husband and I were married young (he was 20, I was 24) and we had simple jobs but we honeymooned in Europe as well and traveled in the US from time to time. We figured we might as well travel while we can before children come which is a decision we decided to leave up to God. Six years later we still haven't had children and we still travel. Leave Jessa and Ben be! Not everyone follows the exact same path! They are clearly happy and in love and enjoying life. Maybe people should focus on making their own lives happier rather than pointing out how they think someone else's should be!
ReplyDeleteI really wish people would think before posting things. We have no idea what is going on behind closed doors. As a person who struggled to get pregnant I know personally it can be very upsetting to not be pregnant each month. Now I know that it is completely true that lots of people take a year without any prevention to get pregnant. But coming from a family where people seem to get pregnant extremely easy I am sure IF Jessa is wanting to be pregnant right now that makes it even harder for her. If she reads these comments I am certain they would be even more hurtful. As I said none of us know what is going on. She might be using prevention even though she was not raised that way, she might not be and just letting God have his timing, or she might be desperately begging God for a baby and yet still not pregnant. So please stop judging and assuming you know, when you don't.
