The Duggars woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, following a storm that began Sunday night and continued through Monday morning. To celebrate the show day, Jessa and Ben Seewald and Jessa's siblings grabbed a pile of old campaign signs and went sledding on the hill in front of the Duggars' house. They also whipped up a batch of snow ice cream (click here to view their recipe).

ReplyDeletethe duggar girls wear pants with their skirts if modesty makes it needed, have seen them wear pants with a lot of events(swimming, water skiing, etc), they wear the pants if their skirts may fly up and show their knees at all. all about modesty. plus the younger girls almost always wear pants with their dresses so they can play like kids do.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see Jessa and Ben together, they look like they are so much in love. You can tell by the way that Jessa looks at Ben that she is really in LOVE with him and the same with the way Ben looks at Jessa. It is so nice to see a young couple so much in LOVE.

ReplyDeleteGot to be honest I miss the original normal Duggars. Ugg hat I mean really. Guess Jim Bob pays well if Ben is even still working. Money changes people just really never thought it would hit Duggars. Show has gotten to be about stuff that really is unrealistic for normal people and losing its appeal to our family. Little ones seem more out of control than back in the old days (14 kids and counting). Has broken my heart to see them change. Hope it does not happen to the Bates family.

ReplyDeleteWhy did the girls make suck a big deal about wearing skirts to fight fires? If you have to wear skirts to be a fire fighter than you should wear skirts to be in the snow.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they wore skirts to fight fires. That episode you are referring to is the black trousers that the Fire fighters wore for other occasions. They made the trousers into skirts.

ReplyDeleteUs know it's really sad that I cant watch the show when it first airs at 8:00pm, I have to dvr the program because of the discusting promos of some of the other TLC unsavory shows.This way I can fast forward thru all that, especially if kids are present.Long ago that network was family friendly.I bet if the Duggars went to a wholesome network their viewership would go up because I'm sure there are alot of Christians that don't watch because of that reason. P.S. I wish my skin was as thick as the Duggars for all the criticism they endure day in and day out.

ReplyDeleteIt drives me crazy when people act shocked that the Duggars have pants on. The girls have worn pants *several* times before on the show. They've worn pants when skiing, when skydiving, when sledding and when hunting. Mrs. Michelle even wore coveralls when sledding a few seasons back. The Duggars want their girls to be warm and safe, for goodness sake.

ReplyDeleteWow… Jessa's wearing pants! I'd think it would be hard to wear a skirt while sledding… pants was the more modest out of the choices! I love the wisdom these girls show. :) My sister and I have been so inspired by the Duggar girls, that we have begun wearing skirts every day. I used to wear jeans all the time, as long as my shirt was still below my hips, that's my modesty rule. But I find that wearing skirts is very fun and lady-like. That's one of the things that got my dad to spot my mom at first. She loved to wear skirts, until she started getting pregnant a lot, and she didn't always have maternity skirts. LOL. :D God bless the family immensely!

I wonder why the Duggar gals feel it immodest to wear pants or jeans, but don't have a problem with skin-tight maternity tops that leave little to the imagination... very puzzling. I guess if we were all to follow Biblical examples, we'd all be wearing chin-to-toe robes, including the guys!

ReplyDeleteWe had to ride a couple of hours to get somewhere snowy... We had a blast and of course I had to wear pants on this ocassion. Imagine someone in a long skirt trying to slide down a hill....

ReplyDeleteThe Duggar girls wore pants when actually responding to fires and other emergencies. They asked to be able to wear skirts to the ceremonies where the firemen/firewomen wear their 'dress blues'.
You can get some amazing buys at second hand stores or garage sales...they always talk about buying used and saving the difference so maybe that explains the hat? It is impossible to please everyone all the time...if she was dressed all shabby then people would complain about the fact that they should dress better seeing as they are in the public eye! Lol

ReplyDelete@Anonymous 47 -- I have the same question! I don't understand how a skin tight top that shows every curve is okay, but showing a knee or shoulder is taboo. I wish someone could explain the reasoning to me, because I admit I am ignorant on the subject of these modesty standards of theirs.

ReplyDeleteevery one should be able to wear what they want nothing wrong with a noce top and black pants or jeans jazz it up with coat in winter etc and nice shoe what load of Crap about girls only wearing dresses or skirts and not showing knees if u think about what your wearing u can find something that isnt tight or to reveiling and still look nice ..
