What a lovely sermon. It's great to see Jessa branching out a bit more and attending church outside of their home. I hope it becomes a regular thing for her.

DeleteIt's so sad to see the Duggars now embracing music like the Lord I Need You song above, as well as the other songs I've heard them endorse. The songs do not have a clear distinction between what the world embraces, and what songs that sons and daughters of the King of Kings, the Holy, God Almighty should be producing. I do not think that the diggers are insincere. But I am concerned and discouraged by the path that so many Christians are taking today in their stands on music as well as dress.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you! %100 my husband & I always let my daughter watch the Duggars. Now we are having second thoughts. The Duggars claim they are conservative in music & dress but to my family it seems like they are adopting too much of the world.
DeleteThis type of music is not exalting but entertaining. The Duggars really need not to claim conservative christian anymore.... Too many convictions have been compromised....
DeleteI don't understand the opposition that is expressed against this song. My need for Our Lord is clearly stated: “Every hour I need you, my One Defense, my Righteousness, Oh, God, how I need you." I find these words beautiful and very relevant in my life today. I do not hear any worldly inducements, and am grateful that artists are willing to make Christian music for those of us who do appreciate it. Every song we know and love was once new.

ReplyDeleteWhy is it sad they are listening to Lord I Need You? Those lyrics are so powerful and inspiring. It is demeaning of you to suggest otherwise. People worship The Lord with songs just like this every Sunday. Why would it be wrong? Read the lyrics. If the music touches your heart and you feel it in your soul when you seek Jesus's face, how can that be wrong?

Do some people just post things to upset others? I love, love this song and it truly makes me focus on God with those lyrics. I do not see it any other way. If it can make a Christian focus and give thanks to God, why would anyone try to demean it?

dealing with day to day lessons/struggles. Just amazing lyrics.
Many fundamentalists (particularly independent baptists) do not believe that any modern worship music glorifies God. They believe that only traditional hymns are appropriate. So I am not surprised to read that some people are disappointed. I guess they don't realize that Jessa wears pants now too (she has been photographed in them recently). Duggars are changing and personally I like it. Welcome to the modern world!

This song is biblical, inspiring, and so true! God is our defense and our righteousness, and we most certainly NEED Him EVERY HOUR:)
