The Duggars had a busy 2014 and are preparing for another year that could be even busier. They welcomed two sons-in-law into the family in 2014 and are looking forward to the arrival of [at least] two new grandchildren in 2015. (Jill Dillard is 29 weeks pregnant, and Anna Duggar is just over 12 weeks pregnant.) In addition, the super-sized family will continue their hectic schedule of homeschooling, speaking engagements, and filming.

DeleteI would love to see Michelle (or one of the older girls) do some "viewer challenges" in the form of scripture reading and/or memorization, or some sort of online Bible Study. With so many viewers and people interested in their lives, it would be wonderful to use their influence to help grow people spiritually and not just feed people's obsession with following a big family - even one as great of a role model as the Duggars.

DeleteHopefully they will do some things to help others locally, such as spending time with incredibly lonely veterans at the VA homes. They could sing and entertain them. There is one about 1.5 hours from them. They could follow the biblical mandate to defend widows. They could use their fame to inspire others to do things such as this.

DeleteI will divert from most of the comments expressing desire for more marriages and babies. It is my sincere hope to see the oldest Duggar children become independent in their own right before marriage by moving out, perhaps attend an accredited institution of higher learning, or pursue a career they are passionate about. If their faith is strong, they will be able to withstand the temptations the world may bring them away from the 24/7 protection of their parents.

If this is a "ministry"...and they earn their living (or a large part of it) from the earnings of this show/ministry.....is this considered a morally right and Christian based way to support your family. And do the high schoolers have part time jobs after school to learn to budget/save/spend their money they earn? And help pay for college.....that's sure going to take ALOT OF CASH---to put that many kids through college!

I love that idea! Out bible study group is doing a NT in 90 days challenge right now. It has definitely challenged me to get it done, and is fun to discuss scripture with friends. I think the Duggars would have a fairly large following if they suggested a certain type of study!

DeleteWhat a hidden blessing for Michelle Duggar- all the marriages and courtships have led her to finally spend this precious time with the little ones and do the homeschooling herself, instead of the older girls or the Quigleys doing it. This is the biggest gift to her, the little ones grow so fast, I hope she is also spending that time with the middles too, as soon they will be courting! Also, Jennifer seems a little lost as she missed out on a couple of mommy time years when Josie was born and when poor dear Jubilee passed, and she would benefit so much from some Mommy time. It must be so very hard for Michelle to adjust to not being pregnant and not attending to a baby, I really feel for her as she has to adjust to this change in her life. She is so lucky to have this precious time with her still little ones!

ReplyDeleteIn response to commenter 4 about guns, actually, it has been proven that the cities with the most gun control laws, where citizens have been disarmed, have the Most gun crimes, because the criminals will always get guns and citizens have no way to defend themselves and criminals are not deterred from committing crimes. Look at NY, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Baltimore- they have the most gun crimes and they have the strictest gun control laws! But cities where citizens can legally own guns responsibly have the Least gun crimes, because citizens can defend themselves which deters the criminals. Mass shootings cannot happen if the innocent citizens are armed and can stop the shooter.
I wished there would be more on the spiritual matters of life rather than just marrying and childbearing, though that seems to be synonomous with the Duggars. Most people are caught up in how you feed and clothe so many children and what they do for "fun". The Christians would love the spiritual matters to life. If Michelle can find time for BIble study with all her children, then other women can find time for Bible and prayer in their lives.

ReplyDeleteI think good things are in store for this wonderful family including grandchildren and more courtships. What I wish all family's would look at in 2015, is their family's impact on earth. A few years ago we looked at our environmental impact we had on this earth. We have raised a total of 26 children that were in need of a home, over the course of a couple of years. I know when you are busy, and have many things to do, it is really easy to pull out the paper plates or to clean up every mess by using paper towels. With 7-8 children in our home at any given time, and 2 parents that were still working, we were making a huge environmental impact everyday. We were using up a full tree, that had to be harvested, for paper plates alone, every single month. The environmental impact really added up, and we really started to become aware of this. So we changed our habits. I wish for everyone to look at the impact, good and bad, that they are putting on their children, health, community, and the environment. Having guns are our right according to the 2nd amendment of the Constitution. It says "It protects the right to bear arms."
So, gun are good, because they are good for protection, and it is our right.

ReplyDeleteYesterday there was a post of "controversy in the news" about the gun, but actually the only news of this was the Duggar response. Go figure. What was in the news yesterday though: Amy has a serious boyfriend. It 's refreshing to see an unmarried happy looking couple showing affection (kissing, touching etc). I'm convinced a Duggar "courtship" is going to have broken fingers one of these days. Look at old episodes of Josh and Anna courting. You can see their hands turn purple with squeezing pressure and Anna wincing.

ReplyDeleteWho will feed those families who rely on hunting for food? There are literally millions of people in the United States who can't afford to feed their families without hunting. This allows them an alternative to public assistance which builds pride and self-sufficiency. My father hunted and fished to help feed his children, and I saw first hand the poverty of many families who hunt. The fact that hunting can also be enjoyable, rather than a chore for many, is truly a blessing!

ReplyDelete- Josh and Anna will welcome their 4th child. Jana and Joy-Anna will visit them often to help with kids.
- Jill will give birth to their 1st child and with couple of months get pregnant again; she and Derrick will be thrilled but looking very tired. There will be some controversy about Jill posting too much private stuff on her Instagram.
- Jessa and Ben will announce that they are expecting. But unlike her sister Jessa will wait until the 4th month begins. Unfortunately Josh or Jill will post something that sounds ambiguous and audicence will be not suprised. They will struggle some difficult time because of her morning sickness and Ben working a lot in his new job. Adult job, not being Jim Bob's helper.
- in the next weeks I expect news from John David. I suppose he is in courtship now and we hear about his engagement soon. His spouse will be nice girl from one of the northern states. During spring Duggars will be very busy - JD wedding, birth of their #4 and #5 grandchild :-)
- after JD announce he's in relationship, Jana will gain huge audience attention. Their curiosity will be satisfy. Again Duggars announce courtship after engagement. Jana met her fiancee through Josh and FRC and after wedding move to DC and live closely to her brother's family.
- I predict we will hear about Joseph "special friend". Possible courtship by the end of year.
- No news from Jinger. She will spend a lot of time with Jessa and help her during pregnancy. In the middle of the year she will go for some weeks for a mission with her brothers (Jed, Jer, Joseph?)
- Younger kids will be seen a lot in their married siblings houses. Except Josie fo course, who spends time with Michelle. Nothing interesting heard from them.
- Jim Bob and Michelle will speak A LOT of their new season of life, happiness because of grandkids and will do their usual ministries.
- cousin Amy will get married to her boyfriend. Duggars will come to the wedding, few girls will be in wedding party, TLC make a VSE about her day. Amy will give up her plans of being singer and go to normal job as a secretary or something like this.

Would love to see Jill do real mission work with Derick. I don't mean a week long trip where she can comment on how nice the food, weather and beach is; but a real honest to goodness humanitarian effort where they live among the needy. I think the girls will start wearing pants.
I'd really like it if Jill returns to her studies in midwifery after the baby is a few months old. It would be such a waste if she doesn't!

I would love to see a show in which the Duggars participated in some kind of wife/husband/kids swap. I once saw a show in which Amish Teens went to live with modern British families. Would be cool if the Duggars did something similar. Also they could participate in The World’s Strictest Parents and host some rebellious teens at their home and try to tame them.
