The entire Duggar clan is together in Northwest Arkansas for the Christmas holiday. This afternoon, the four married Duggar couples went on a quadruple date.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, Josh and Anna Duggar, Jill and Derick Dillard, and Jessa and Ben Seewald all crammed into one of the Duggars' Suburbans. Now that's one crowded vehicle, especially since Jill and Anna are both expecting. Jill is due March 24th, and Anna is 12.5 weeks pregnant.

ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't Jinger and Jana have gone out with their married siblings and had a nice time with people their own ages? Jim Bob and Michelle didn't need to go out again and leave Jana to take care of the kids...she's had enough of being left home while her parents have a social life.Michelle needed to be home to put her little kids to bed for a change.

I feel like if Anna's not gonna sit with Josh they should have her Jill and Jessa sitting together. Anna and Michelle just look kind of awkard and left out. I feel like Michelle would be more comfortable with sitting with Jim bob and Anna would be more comfortable sitting with her sister in laws. sense she's ALWAYS talking about how much she misses them and how she's so happy when they come to dc because they bonded so much back in Arkansas and how its like missing a sister. Deleteanon #4 12/28/2014 9:00 pm: my late husband and i used to go on double dates with my parents all the time. however, if my (then) single brother joined us, we didnt consider it a 'date', just family members going out together. after he married, we did double & triple date. i'm guessing the reason jana or jinger didnt go is because it was a 'date', and they only date after they are married. 'dating', i believe, is intended for couples and i guess 'going out' could be a group thing, where one or more people are single. idk, just my guess :)

Absolutely love your family, however I think we have ALL seen enough of Jill and Derrick. Please please please stop with so much focus on her. We would love to see more of Jessa and Ben and the other family members.
ReplyDeletePlease don't speak for everyone. Personally I love the whole family including Jill and Derrick. Their courtship and that whole story is so special and I always love seeing them. Their lives are just beginning just like jessa and Ben. I just wish they had longer seasons for more stories!
DeleteFriends were all just discussing that. We want to see the other kids and not so much of Jill and Derek. It's like being fed the same food for every meal. It doesn't take long until you get burned out. Please let us see more of sweet James ("chicken peas?" which was so cute),precious little Jennifer getting glasses and adorable Jordyn watching "Dishing with the Duggars"...Don't know much about any of them except the ones who are married.

This family has a JohAnna and Johanna which sounds exactly the same anf a Josiah and a Josie which is the same name, one feminine and one masculine.
I have never known anyone who named thier own children the same names.
It would be like having a Nicholas and and a Nicole. Or a Gabrielle and a Gabriel.
Anna please stop with the M's just in case you have ten more kids then you will be reusing the same names like your in laws.

ReplyDeleteTheir seating arrangements may have something to do with their car sickness. Some may do better in the back, some in the front. OR it may just be the way the camera men wanted them to sit for the picture only. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat could be a coat thrown over Jessa's lap for modesty purposes if she is wearing a knee length skirt. Josh is a big guy these days and maybe that is why he is sitting up front. Looks like they are all having a good time though. How nice for them all to get out together. I am sure the little ones are doing just fine and Jana and Ginger get their own time out and about.

As for the older single children not going, maybe they had their own outings. Can't the married couples have a date night without being judged? Anna and Jill are sitting together because they are two pregnant women and jessa isn't sitting with them and is sitting with Michelle cause neither her nor Michelle are Pregnant. But it could also have to do with the "feud" rumors we've been hearing about. but I don't believe those rumors for a second. Congrats on Jill entering the third trimester and Anna the second!! they are both going to have beautiful babies!! I hope Jessa get pregnant two cause she says she'd love to have a baby pretty soon!!! merry Christmas and happy new year to those four lovely couples!!

ReplyDeleteComing from a family with 7 kids that has a suburban that seats 9 (it has a bench-seat in the front), I don't think the seating arrangement is strange at all. The shortest people always sit in the center of the car (it is more of a child's seat, one has to be skinny to fit into it, although a full-size suburban totally has enough room for a pregnant woman to sit in the back). Anna is on the left in the far back for the same reason: the fold-down seat/exit is usually on the right, so it's better for a smaller person to be in that seat.
ReplyDeleteJust leave them alone and let them be happy. Who cares where they chose to sit. They are happy and that is all that matters. Just be happy for them. Why are so many people in this world so worried about the small things when the big picture is about sharing the love of God with others? That is what really matters. They are a happy family who does just that. Let them be happy and stop picking at the stupid small insignificant things!
ReplyDeleteThe seating makes perfect sense. When you have to squeeze 3 people in the back and 3 in the middle you put 2 gals and 1 skinny guy in each of those and the 2 larger guys in the front.
ReplyDeleteI think that people are looking too much into the seating arrangements. They're adults. They probably couldn't care less about where they sit as long as they're comfortable with it. Also, Jana and John David are included in the fun things just as much as any other member of the family. The Duggars probably don't post every single fun thing they did on this blog. Dates aren't the only thing the Duggars do for fun! Jim Bob and Michelle are role models for their children to look up to and they don't stop being role models to their children once their children are married. I think that it's great that they do things like this together. I'm sure the other children get their turns regardless of if they're in relationships or not.

ReplyDeleteThe older singles get the benefit of being with Mom and Dad at home all the time. And the married mom is always with their little ones and now at least two of the married moms carry one baby within. So why not give them a little special time out? Being so defensive of the older singles is really not necessary, they have lots of great times and contact with their parents and they get out on their own often enough too.

ReplyDeleteWould absolutely love to see all the Duggars getting involved with the Valentines banquet for widows that Grandma Duggar got to go to before.(I think it was at the Cross church where Jill later married.) One of the hardest holidays for a widow is Valentines Day with all the commercials and reminders at Walmart of this special day. It only reminds them that they no longer have anyone and feel left out. Maybe the Duggars could challenge us all to do something for a widow for Valentine's Day..

Josh and Anna have not announced any of their ideas for names. A magazine article said their baby "will be a Melissa or Mark," but that was just a clever way of saying that Josh and Anna plan to stick with "M" names.

sounds like they enjoy themselves...for the comments about why jana and john-david and Jinger didn't join in, realize that they have jobs and other priorities like the rest of us. Plus if it was a couples date only, probably for a particular reason and maybe we shall see it in the new season. Any negativity about them in by anyone should stop and realize that not everyone is going to join, or like what they do. These are true bible believing Christians with strong convictions and they are for real even though they have a show. If you haven't read their first book, they stated that they're were concerned about it for various reasons. I feel truly blessed and encouraged by this family as a young man.
