Jinger, Joseph, and Josiah have been in Guatemala and Honduras for the past week, spreading Christmas joy to local children. This time, the Dillards will be joining the rest of the crew in El Salvador.

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Duggars
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Lily &Ellie.
Merry Christmas to everyone who writes on this site.
Love the Duggars. They do amazing work. It is so refreshing to see a family like these doing the work they do. The values they teach their children are awesome. I wish there were more families like these on tv I may not always agree with everything they do but they are good people

ReplyDeleteServants of God, I pray for your safe travels. Enjoy this time with one another and the people of El Salvadore. In Jesus' name. Amen.
ReplyDeleteIs Jana Duggar in El Salvador or has she been left behind to babysit the younger girls?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you go in Guatemala? I work for One Way Ministries out of Alabaster, AL and we serve the people of Guatemala City and Sajcavilla. We would love to have you serve with us there, we have a full-time missionary on the ground and he could show you around anytime.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to check us out at www.1wayministries.org
God Bless your work in Guatemala and El Salvador!
How many countries have the Duggars been to in total? Quantitatively?
ReplyDeleteHow long will the Duggars, and Dillards stay on there mission trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this wonderful reminder of serving others during this Christmas Season. What a beautiful gift! #sharethegift
ReplyDeleteI am curious as to what they the Duggars do in Central America and how helpful they can be to Central America since they don't speak the language there? In the utmost respect of trying to understand their mission, how can the Duggars spread the word of Christ when nobody there understands what they are singing about? Can you tell us what they do there? We have seen singing and nail painting and that is about it.
ReplyDeleteSo inaccurate, do your homework!
DeleteI would also be interested in what they do. I know some mission trips by other groups go to build schools, houses, church/community centers, water systems, medical services and other basic needs. The Duggar men seem to have some jack-of-all-trade skills so I assumed they built something on mission trips? Anyone know?
DeleteHi, L&E. You say the Duggars are en route to El Salvador for their annual Christmas mission trip, but you don't say what they do there?????
ReplyDeleteYou don't say what they do there except they spread Christmas joy.
ReplyDeleteWhereis Jana?
ReplyDeleteAn earlier published photo showed some of the Duggar children at "their hotel" with bodyguards yielding rifles strapped to their backs as their protection. Where exactly do the Duggars sleep while they are there? At one of those all inclusive resorts? Why would they go to a country that is already Christian and risk their lives in a politically unstable area? Being Catholic IS being Christian; it is the original Christian faith. I would like to know what they actually accomplish while there? Kids would not be able to do construction work, etc as the ministry organization would not be liable for any injuries resulting from children using power equipment, sharp tools, etc..just doesn't seem to add up. Bringing candy to kids who have no access to dental care is harmful to them; they don't need toys, or bibles, they need actual clean water, decent shelter, food and clothing...the basics and the Duggar family can't change the political situation there. That might take the UN and international childrens' services. It seems they waste their time being photographed there. Also with all of the photos taken of themselves, they waste quite a lot of time doing those things.
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt they stay at a resort
Delete. all the times I have seen them there they sleep on the floor in a big room. And they do a lot more than pass out candy, they take food and supplies to the families. They also help in building and cleaning after natural disasters. Most important they give love and hope to these people.
I've seen other pictures from.past years, they hand out toys and they have prayer sessions, the kids seem.to befriend others, I know one year Jill became so close to another girl.there were a lot of tears when they had to part.
DeleteThis is really off-topic...
ReplyDeleteSorry if I missed it, but did we ever find out where Ben and Jessa went on their honeymoon?
I hope Jana did not get left behind to help Grandma Duggar take care of the younger siblings. There is something really special about Jana and Jill. When I look at them I can see nothing but kindness and caring.
ReplyDeleteI pray they have a safe trip over and a safe trip back
ReplyDeleteDear Jinger,
ReplyDeleteYou look very, very, very, very beautiful. I love your hair and all your very cute outfits. You are just a little model. I love it! I wish I had that much cute clothes as you do. Do you play the piano? I do. I go to Nursing Homes and play it for the people there. Actually just this morning I went to a Nursing Home and I played "Come, Now Is The Time To Worship". I love that song! Its my favorite song in the world besides Christmas songs.
Thanks!
-Jessica
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!! Those girls are pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhere are Jana and John-David?
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that they help others at Christmastime. We all need to remember that Christmas is about giving, not getting. Great job, Duggars!!
ReplyDeleteHi from Abbotsford!!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I love you/them sooo much, they are VERY caring people, they make other feel like they matter, through love, and sharing of hope!!!!!! Keep it up Duggars, my nick name for all of you is Lovers, lovers, sounds like Duggars in a way, take care, and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Jill and derrick need a picture in hondarus
ReplyDeleteand ben and jessa
need
one
marry christmas
In one of the episodes, they showed Duggars giving Xmas gifts to the local people. But I wonder who pays for their flights and food, and if it's efficient to just give some small gifts to people. What else they do on those trips? there were pics of Jessa doing manicure for some little girl... It just looks more like a vacation for Duggars and people associated with them. I don't see any real help.
ReplyDeleteThey do so much more than is shown, they donate lots of money, help clean up after disasters, give love, hope, and kindness. They do more than the people who are speculating and complaining on here do.They pay their own way and do not stay at expensive hotels...quite the opposite. And anylittle kind act as painting nails ect.is more meaningful than u know. They have translators. Be 100% factual about your information before u comment falsehoods nextime.
DeleteGreat pictures. Where is Josiah
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Joseph and the little girl melted my heart!! Adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteGiving to others goes year round not just on Thanksgiving and Christmas and we want to be thankful to God everyday of the year not just 1 or 2 days of the year. Love thy neighbor. This world needs more loving people like the Duggars.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Janna & John-David ? And the youngest 4 girls?
ReplyDeleteI'm a little surprised Derick and Jill are going on the mission trip
ReplyDeleteThe money they spend vacationing could build ten concrete block homes and give work and earnings to several doing the building. Which would allow those workers cash to buy the things their family needs and bless the local community at the same times They don't need people of arkansas to come all that way to pray. Most they encounter according to Ben are already Christian. Just call it a vacation. It's okay to take a vacation.
ReplyDeleteUm I'm actually El Salvadorian and no offense I but I find some comments thinking we're poor hopeless people. We are poor but we have a lot of hope in our God. More hope than any other country. We've been poor for a long time and now you decide to help us?

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 25,
During their December trips to El Salvador, the Duggars spend most of their time putting on Christmas parties for children in remote villages.
Blessings,

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 23,
The Duggars and Dillards will be in El Salvador until later this week. :)

we know the duggars support the missions in these countries what about any other minstires do they support?. can you please let us know it has never been said. I have asked. How do they feel about reveive our heart minstry for women.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Jessa and Ben, they weren't even mentioned.Maybe just maybe they are blessed with a pregnancy and its to early to travel.I hope thats the case, I'd bet my bottom dollar that im correct.:-)
ReplyDeleteAre Jessa & Ben babysitting the younger 4 or is grandmom and Jana watching them.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually a popular practice called voluntourism. There is a lot of information on the web about how it isn't very helpful to the people living in the country being helped, but the volunteers themselves often come away with valuable experiences. As others have pointed out, El Salvador is comprised of mostly Christian citizens, so the Duggars hosting Christmas parties for them doesn't do much to help them at all, but it is probably a very enriching Christmas tradition for the Duggars themselves, especially if they visit the same organizations every visit.
ReplyDeleteHow is traveling there to have Christmas parties considered to be a missions trip?
ReplyDeleteIt's great the Duggars are going to help in El Salvador, again. However, why don' t they focus their hearts on struggling Americans?
ReplyDeleteDo you know them, and every aspect of their lives? We only see a snipet of their life. They help struggling babies, sick children, theRonald McDonald house, they help at disasters, like Joplin, they are volunteers fire fighters, they help at pantries much more than most, they donate to the homeless, single mothers, and so so much more.I would classify that as struggling Americans.People dont even realize how much this family gives of their time and money. So be accurate on your assumptions before you accuse folks of doing or not doing something.Sincerely, Natalia

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 30,
Jessa and Ben haven't officially announced where they went on their honeymoon. Stay tuned! :)

Lily and Ellie, do you know of any good chances to meet the Duggars??? I AM THEIR BIGGEST FAN!!!! Thank you soooo much!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy are the other volunteers pictured identified in the caption as "friend"s yet the children they're visiting are not even identified as being in the photos at all? Poor children from other cultures are not scenery or props; they're people!
ReplyDeleteI think you are assuming much annonymous 63. If no one knows every snippet neither can you. Linda from Elsalvador and annonymous 62 have a great point. They have hope even with poverty and they are not props. Imagine if a group of foreigners came to an American school and had access to and took pictures with and sang songs with the kids and gave them stuff. The people may feel nifty about themselves for their efforts but what about the parents and how will the kids think of themselves publicly spotted on the Internet so someone could show another made them into a charity case? I'm sure they want to be helpful while not being hurtful. The ones who judge that are the people who are receiving their energy, The rest of us are not in the proper place. Imagine a volunteer in the NICU posted pictures of Josie that they held while volunteering on the Internet and that they were from another country trying to get help for us since we have a high rate of premies and our economic system is off and they used Josie's picture to get more empathy, or praise of themselves, or gratitude for socialized medicine?
ReplyDeleteHey! Could someone tell me when the next Duggar season (15) is coming out? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the Duggars, since the show started., I can't imagine how they do it with 19 children, the patience, How the household is run, how everyone has a hand in it. they have grandchildren, children and all seem to want to help and do for each other. , I think I have learned a lot from this show.. I love watching.this program. Please keep it on the air.
ReplyDeletethank you very much

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 63,
Your best chance at meeting the Duggars is to attend one of their speaking engagements. We post the details of those on our Appearances page: http://www.duggarfamilyblog.com/p/appearances.html.
We are blessed to have you as a reader. :)

REF: Jordyn getting left out on her b'day. In a family that size, dedicated to God and each other, I am sure someone is getting left out often - or no one would go anywhere. i am sure it is not just Jordyn. NB
