“It was the second dress I tried on,” Jessa told PEOPLE. “I love it.”
To achieve the style she was looking for, the bride had a few layers of tulle removed from the gown before her wedding day.
Jessa wore her heart-shaped pendant necklace, a gift she received from Ben when the couple began their courtship. Her sisters helped her fix her hair in the curly style that has become the Duggars' trademark. (Watch our Duggar hair tutorial below.)

Her dress looks like it has a higher neck than in the picture of the model. The model's neckline in really low.

DeleteI doubt it would have been altered. Every dress would fit each person ddifferent depending on how long a neck is or the chest cavity. I have seen them wearing shirts as low as the model which really is not even that low. This is a dress that is modest from the beginning and wouldn't need any altering. Just different body wearing the same dress produce different looks.

I'm really surprised that the Duggar's didn't "buy used and save the difference". I borrowed my cousin's wedding dress and (my mom) just had to pay for the dry cleaning for it (it was also used as my 'something borrowed' item)

I need to have a question answered. Is Jinger about to enter a courtship with Lawson Bates? I want to be sure I ask the right folks and you gals are pretty close to the family. Those two sure would be a great couple! Also I pray for Jana. She will make some man an awesome Provberbs 31 wife! She is so sweet and so loving! God bless these amazing girls! We all could learn a lot from their example!

ReplyDeleteWe were able to rent my daughter's dream wedding dress for a small fee. The dress fit perfectly with no alterations needed.
Above in the family photos, it should say Jill & Derrick. Jill is the Duggar and her name should come first! (You got Jessa's correct!)

ReplyDeleteI read that Jessa only had Jinger in her bridal party and not all of her sisters. Is this true? Will her wedding air on TLC? Questions aside , She looked absolutely gorgeous and I LOVE her dress. I also loved that they had their first kiss in private.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress! I'm so glad to see a wedding gown company actually has a few modest styles. Thirteen years ago when I got married there weren't many modest gowns at all to choose from and I had to add cap sleeves to a dress, but I loved how it turned out. I look forward to watching more of Jessa and Ben's courtship/engagement/wedding... I wish there were more wholesome tv shows like this to watch!
