The Bates family has two big announcements to make. (Just to clear things up right now, they are not expecting their 20th child...yet.)
1. Zach, the oldest of Gil and Kelly Bates' 19 children, and his wife, Whitney, welcomed the first Bates grandchild into the world yesterday.
2. Do you remember TLC's United Bates of America, which aired in 2012? Gil and Kelly Bates and their 19 children are set to star in another reality TV series. Bringing Up Bates premieres on UP TV on New Year's Day. Watch a video preview below:

YEAH! I'm so happy, cant wait. We need more quality programming like that.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I cannot wait for the new show. I love the Bates and the Duggars!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely will be watching, I think if this show is better produced than the Duggars show has been lately they should think about switching to that network.
ReplyDeleteBradley is so cute (and smiling?!). I'm glad all went well. Also, now Gil & Kelly can attend Jessa & Ben's wedding. IF they can tear themselves away from that little angel, that is.
ReplyDeletewhere will it be on in Canada if it comes here
ReplyDeleteMy AT&T Uverse cable doesn't seem to carry UP TV. :(
ReplyDeleteYes!!!!!!!! You are finally making some smart decisions TLC--Bates-Duggars-Little Couple--Rolofs Are good choices Now start thinking spinoff with Josh and Jeremy and their wives as Rolof's.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the Bates!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first Grandchild! What a blessing to be a grandparent!! Will be watching for your show.
ReplyDeleteHappy for Zach and Whitney! Such a special time in life. Good news about the new series for the Bates family.

ReplyDeleteI love the Bates and Duggars. .congratulations on your first grandchild can't wait for your show
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Zach and Whitney! I've been praying for y'all. Glad to see the Bates will be coming back on tv on the UP channel!
ReplyDeleteThis totally made my day!!! We still watch and re-watch "United Bates of America" alongside our Duggar collection. With so little quality TV and so few moral role models out there, my family and I truly appreciate the Duggars and the Bates!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMichael and boyfriend Brandon?
ReplyDeleteJana, dear: You did a brilliant job sewing for Jill's wedding. In case you haven't thought of this yet, you really could have your own business. Besides midwife skills, you know the lifelong value of sewing. May we get a peek into your hopes and dreams? If it's not too invasive, I want to get to know your heart better. You are a very beautiful, talented young woman. Much joy and love to you, Robin G., Phoenix, AZ
ReplyDeleteGreat news to hear the the Bates are returning to TV! I love the Duggar and Bates family. So nice to see a reality show about 2 amazing families with great values. Don't have to worry about small children being in the room when watching these reality shows :) Here is hoping I have the channel they will be on.
ReplyDeleteIt may seem strange that a TV show could change ones life. You have brought me closer to my Lord
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Zach and Whitney!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch Bringing up Bates on New Years Day! I love the Bates.
ReplyDeleteWow, the Bates family has changed even faster than the Duggars. Congrats on first grandchild.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the new parents! Like this family.
ReplyDeletei love to see Jessa and Ben wedding !!!:) one more day - ;0) xoxo :!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad won't get to see this show, don't have this channel.
ReplyDeletelily & ellie:
ReplyDeletedo you know if there is a blog, similiar to yours, that is about the bates? (maybe a friend of yours?)
also, if someone is able to record the episodes, will you be able to provide links to them for those of us who wont be able to watch on tv?
So exciting!! Can't wait!!! Congrats on the new baby/first grand baby!!
ReplyDeleteOops! The typo was the first thing that caught my eye under the picture. 👀 Michaella & Brandon. Saw "Michael and Brandon" and it totally threw me off lol! I soooo can't wait for New Year's Day now! Love the Bates and excited and thrilled to see them on TV again! Another inspirational family show...and on Up TV! Thanks Ellie and Lily for keeping us posted on all things Duggar and Bates! Y'all do an amazing job! God bless you both!
ReplyDeleteI have spent hours on other sites getting to know the Bates a little better and i didnt know that there kids were so much more out there in the world as the Duggars. Most of the oldest kids have jobs and either went to college or are going to college. They seem a little more lax with the day to day life. However, that doesn't mean they are better, just different. I love them both:-)
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie, I was wondering if the lack of comments latey is due to the fact that people are upset with the season lately or is it the fact that we have to prove we are not a robot when signing anonymous is slowing things down.It just seems like in days past their were alot more.Just wondering?
ReplyDeleteI hope this network does a better job than TLC has been doing with the Duggars, ie, one episode after the other about Duggar "adventures", just doesn't cut it. Please keep the Bates show real about their every day lives. Families don't go on these exotic trips all the time like the network sponsored Duggar ones. If Gil Bates is just like Jim Bob, I'd like for him to say so, or how are they different in their parenting styles etc?
ReplyDeleteI think some are confused that the Bates will be on TLC again. No, they will be on another station called UP TV which stands for Uplighting TV.
ReplyDeleteTo the person who questioned Michael and HER boyfriend, Brandon. The Bates named their DAUGHTER Michael. It's not two guys.
ReplyDeleteYea! I love the bates! They seem genuine and actually like a normal family.
ReplyDeleteMichael Bates is a girl so no controversy there as much as you are looking for it.
ReplyDeleteI love the Bates new name for their upcoming show. I'm glad they've decided to do reality tv again.
ReplyDeleteLove the Bates family. Can those kids get any cuter!?!?!?! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I had this channel, but found it using the UP website.

ReplyDeleteWonderful news....another quality program to watch.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the grandchild. Glad all went well. I don't dislike the Bates family at all, but I'm tired of "copycat" TV shows. That's all this one will be, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to watch the bates show. They are another great big family and I love watching there show and I can't wait for it to air again!
ReplyDeleteI love the Bate's family! Can't wait to watch the show!
ReplyDeleteVery glad to know Momma & baby boy are doing well. God Bless

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 13,
"Bring Up Bates" will air on UP, a Christian TV network.

Just wondering why Michaella's boyfriend would be in a family photo. They aren't even engaged.
ReplyDeleteI am just thrilled to hear it. I loved United Bates of America and am very fond of the Bates Family. Can't wait to watch them again!
ReplyDeleteIt will be good to see more of the Bates family. Can we watch this online?
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the beginning to this series though. I prefer the one where they all sing for United Bates of America.
God bless!
