Advice for Moms and Daughters

David and Priscilla Waller, Anna Duggar's brother-in-law and sister, recently visited the Duggars in Northwest Arkansas. In the following YouTube video, Michelle and Priscilla share encouragement for moms and daughters.

Although the video was created for the participants of a mother-daughter retreat in Australia, Michelle and Priscilla's advice is applicable to all ladies.

    2. Never blame God for something that has gone wrong, he didn't take them from you. We all have struggles but you can't just say "Lord this your fault" this may be a way to bring you closer to him. He's just waiting for you to ask him for help...

  9. To Colleen,
that is really sad, and I am sorry to hear that:( There are many things that we do not understand but that is why we have faith. And just remember that God is in trial- its kind of sad but it is a war between the devil and God and we are in a way caught in the middle of it all. God needs to prove His justice/character and be the "bigger man". God is almighty and powerful but remember all good comes from God, it is the devil that does things that hurt and break us. God can give us a nice warm, cozy and easy free life but is that really showing that God is just? See it like a parent, there is discipline. And at times God needs to be our parent. He loves us so much but as usualy the devil is there ready to snap at us and break us down. WHAT DOES NOT KILL YOU (should)MAKES YOU (us) STRONGER!!!

  10. Dear Colleen,

I'm so sorry that your children are not with you! How painful that must be as a mother.
May I answer your question? God did not do this to hurt you. There is a reason why we suffer. After God made the world and Adam and Eve, God called everything "very good", because everything was perfect! No pain and no suffering! He gave Adam and Eve one rule to obey but they chose to disobey. Because they decided to disobey, God cursed the earth. Everything is now far from perfect! The whole story is in the Bible. Jesus is the solution to our problems! I pray that you know Him!

  11. @colleenColleen, God did not do this to you, we all have a fallen nature that produces painful consequences but God can be the comfort through our struggles and will work all things for His glory. You are in my prayers.

  13. This world is under of the influence of imperfect mortals. Perfect world free of tears doesn't exist in this world, but the next. Each persons choices effect others both good and bad. It's unfortunate that humans often make God look bad.

  14. I like the part where Priscilla was talking about her fickle, foolish heart that went all wonky over guys she 'knew' she would never be with anyway. That is so true. Also Iiked the part where Priscilla explained that the function of guarding her heart was to stay true to the focus on being in sync with waiting for God's best for her. Right now that message is relevant to Jana, Jinger and even Joy (yes, dear Joy could potentially marry soon). Of course the boys need to guard their hearts too. (More on that would be nice to see a video about, maybe from JimBob).

  15. I just had an argument with my adult son and later realized how true Ma Duggar's words are. To stay in those relationships we do need to humble ourselves and extend grace and mercy to each other. Those came back to me as comforting and healing words which brought hope. Thank-you!

  16. Michelle is actually an example of God who waits to bridge the relationship with people extending mercy, grace, love.
