Time to share more Duggar wedding details from Ellie's interview with Sierra, one of Jill's wedding planners. (Click here to read part one and here to read part two.)
Looking back
on Jill and Derick's wedding, Sierra says her number one goal was to plan a wedding that fulfilled the dreams of the bride and groom. She and the other two wedding planners were relieved to hear that they succeeded.
They were pleased, so excited for it, so grateful to see all their friends, and that totally makes it all worth it.
At the same
time, Sierra knows that the most important part of a wedding is the marriage. Aside
from a quick text, to which Jill responded that she and Derick were doing well,
Sierra left the bride and groom alone during their first weeks as newlyweds.
Jill's sisters
played a key role in the wedding planning process. Jessa, who has been courting
Ben Seewald since September 2013, could have used the time to start planning her own
wedding, but according to Sierra, she kept the focus on Jill, as did the other
Duggar girls.
[Jessa]
really is a great sister. She really supported Jill the entire time. You wouldn't even know that she had wedding
on her radar, except that everybody knows that. [She] and Jana
and Jinger were all so incredible.
The one
downside of being a planner for the Duggar-Dillard wedding was missing the
first kiss. Sierra and her volunteer crew left the wedding 20 minutes early to
prepare for the reception, which took place outside Cross Church in Springdale,
Arkansas. Thanks to TLC, Sierra can watch the ceremony unfold when it airs on TV.
June 21st was a hot, sunny day in Springdale, Arkansas, but guests enjoyed the outdoor reception. Jill and Derick's rain plan was to move the party into one of the mega church's gyms. The skies opened up the day after the wedding, and it rained for four days straight, said Sierra, so the weather turned out to be a blessing.

Fans can look forward to the premiere of new episodes of 19 Kids and Counting, including a wedding special, this fall on TLC.

ReplyDeleteMe ether
DeleteI love the duggars. But I love Jackson
DeleteIt's implying that Jessa's engaged?
ReplyDeletedoes this mean jessa's engaged?! 😊 or is she still in a courtship woth ben? @ Lily and Ellie
ReplyDeleteis Jessa engaged?! 😊
ReplyDelete@ Lipy and Ellie?
Great can't wait for the new shows this Fall. That doesn't surprise me about Jessa putting her sister Jill first. They are a close family that loves and cares for each other.
ReplyDeleteThe focus of this seems to be how Jessa unselfishly devoted her attention to Jill's plans when she has a wedding to plan for herself. Do Tell!
ReplyDeleteI like to believe our prayers for good weather after the dreary engagement day helped the sun to shine beautifully on the wedding day! Thanks be to God in Jesus name, praise the Lord!
ReplyDelete1 Thessalonians 5:18King James Version (KJV)
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Thank you for bringing us a few more details about the wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteAww!!! Such a Romantic wedding!!! Yall are such a cute couple!! God bless y'all both with a great marriage!!!
ReplyDeleteThis post was disappointing. There are no new pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo, are you saying Jessa is engaged!? (In reference to the 5th and 6th paragraphs).
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these details with us. Its wonderful to hear about the plans and can't wait to see it on TV. Thanks again LILY and Ellie.~ Stacy
ReplyDeletewhy would you need three wedding planning at your wedding? who helped make all those deserts and food for the wedding. why did they have so many people? why did they have a nice carried dinner from somewhere instead of homemade dinner? where outside was it at the duggar ranch?
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything new here; just the same old pictures and information. We'd like to see some professional family wedding photos with the parents and how the wedding party was paired up. IMO, Jill's dress was matronly for her, and it looked to be heavy to pull; and it seemed to be tailored too large for her. Not trying to be critical, but that's just my opinion. What's important is the life that comes after the wedding. Hope they will stay happy together.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I clicked onto your blog because it says wedding details. I expected lots more pictures. Very disappointed.
ReplyDeleteis Jessa engaged?! :)
ReplyDelete@ Ellie and Lily?
So does this mean Jessa is engaged?
ReplyDeleteJUST TOTALLY AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteLove this couple so much !!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you Jill !
ReplyDeleteMay you have a wonderful "happy ever after" life
I read on starcasm.com that TLC is going to have a spinoff show about Jill and Derick, i hope thats true.
ReplyDeleteWhy does it seem fishy to me that "Jessa could've been planning her own wedding?" is that just someone saying that or really meaning that. I don't think she would've been engaged but it's obvious there courtship will end with engagement!
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie,
ReplyDeleteSierra made is sound like Jessa is engaged? Can you please tell me if she is?
Jessa and Ben haven't made any engagement announcements yet. We will just have to wait and see. :)

Jill and Derick look happy but this is old news now. I'm excited to hear more about John-David, Jana, and Jinger and the possibility of career or romance on the horizon! This is too big of a family and too busy of a family to keep focusing on one child for months on end.
ReplyDeleteAww. I feel really bad for that wedding planner not even getting to see the wedding but I know that she and the other two were such a blessing to the family! I can't wait for the new season to come out!
ReplyDeletecan't wait for The Wonderful Duggers are back on TLC.Miss you all. Can't wait to see the wedding! !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Just a little-bitty grammar correction, though: "Her and Jana and Jinger..." needs to be "She and Jana and Jinger." Thank you, and keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows Ben and jessa are engaged. We knew that when she joined twitter as jessa seawald. My bet is that jessa and Ben were supposed to get engaged on the show at the end of last season.
ReplyDeleteIf you remember when the duggars were doing press in April about last season jill was claiming she wasn't even courting, but we all found out that at the time she was actually already engaged since jill and Derrick were engaged in March. They had a quick engagement and wedding probably because derricks mom was sick. So now jessa is patiently waiting for it to be her turn, but my bet is she got engaged close to the date she joined twitter and Instagram.
If you want to see professional photos you should have picked up People magazine a couple weeks back. Personally I enjoy many of the "behind the scenes" candid photos. I am just appreciative to get these photos at all. The authors of this blog didn't even have to share their photos. So thank both Lily and Ellie for even posting any at all.
ReplyDeleteIs Jessa engaged this makes it sound like she is
ReplyDeleteHi Readers,
ReplyDeleteNo engagement announcement yet, but rest assured we will let you know when/if there is one. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 14,
Jill and Derick had desserts and snack food at their wedding. All of the food was prepared by friends and family members. The wedding ceremony was at Cross Church in Springdale, and the reception took place outside the church.

@Lily and Ellie,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your diligent efforts to provide us with news of this fascinating and loveable American family.
I am little suprised that theDuggars didn't serve real food. Heaven knows they could have afforded it! They must be making bank with their show and the books. Just saying. .
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to watching the new season!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture with the entire Duggar clan. Everyone looks so great. Jana did a fabulous job on the dresses. Love how one of the little ones on the front row is kicking off her cute shoes. This is such a great family. I dont know how many more years TLC will carry the show but i could watch them for a very long time. Each family member is awesome. They are so positive.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it on tv this fall!!! And and it sounds like it was a amazing wedding :)

I am still of the opinion that the snack foods and sweets served at the wedding were awful choices when put together. None of those things mesh well in peoples' stomachs. To even call them snacks was a stretch... it's child's birthday party sweets and salty bits; not even an appetizer for the grown ups who attended. Poor choices IMO. Not worth the effort or cost of attending the reception at all. Those who went "for free" and observed the ceremony alone did the best thing.
ReplyDeleteA spinoff show on jill and derick?! How cool would that be?!?!?! :)
ReplyDeleteHey I was wondering if maybe like the hair tutorial you could get them to do a makeup tutorial because they always have gorgeous makeup and I know alot of people would love to see that video. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI agree #25!! I love Jill and Derick and can't wait to see the wedding but I'm getting bored with the same ol pictures and wedding planner tips. The excitement of the wedding is going to wear out for some by showing the same over and over. I know it's trying to be kept exciting till we watch it but fall seems to far away! TLC should have done a special already.
ReplyDeletePLEASE! PLEASE! Post updates on the others, John-David, Jana, Jinger, Joseph, Jos and all the younger ones. I enjoy reading about them too!!
I'm going with Jessa and Ben are engaged there are too many things pointing to that. her twitter name. some pictures that look very much like engagement pics. this article. Like other people have said Jill hid her courtship until the last second.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous 42,
A makeup tutorial is a great idea. We will keep that in mind for future. :)
Glad to have you as a reader.

I saw the Duggar family LIVE Saturday July 26th at the Texas Home School Coalition conference. Jessa did NOT have an engagement ring on her finger when she & the rest of the family including Ben signed my book. Mr. Duggar introduced the family including Ben. Ben was introduced as her friend and dad said they're not engaged but talking about getting married.
ReplyDeleteIt was just one event and they were free from the threat of perishable food in hot weather going bad quickly and giving some one food poisoning. Why would anyone complain if they got an invite?
ReplyDeleteI would have been happy with a drink and a bite to eat as a light refreshment and treat, I would be there to celebrate the wedding not have a free meal at their expense. Then if I travelled and wanted to give myself a meal I would go to a local restaurant and everyone is happy.
This question is asked with reference to the comment by anonymous 39, 'opinion' about the reception, it also says "Those who went "for free" and observed the ceremony alone did the best thing." Was there a charge to get into the reception?
ReplyDeleteanononymous 28 will you now do that for any mistakes in all of the comments also?
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think I'd want Ben to sign my book (if I got the chance to meet the family) UNTIL he is married into the family. Well you never what can happen to their relationship between now and if they do marry. And I hope they do! :-) JMO
ReplyDeleteOf course they aren't going to come out and say if she is engaged and if she was she probably wouldn't be wearing the ring to a public appearance as they'd want to keep that back until the show starts up again just as they did with Jill's courtship.
ReplyDeleteThen why did they choose to have an outdoor reception in Arkansas in June? Guests probably would not rather walk over grass and bugs at a wedding celebration. It would have been wiser to hold it indoors this way weather would not be a factor and they could have served decent food, not children's snacks and beverages.
ReplyDeleteWho were the wedding planners? Did they help with styling the bridesmaids and Jill? You do not put an ivory dress with white shirts or white flower girl dresses. It makes the bride look like her dress is dirty! Clunky shoes on street length feminine dresses are also not very flattering. Cream colored add-on looked tacky. I love the way the Duggar girls have been dressing of late and this was a disappointment. Hope the next wedding is better! and has some food!! Even Anna and Josh had chicken salad sandwiches. Jim Bob, feed the people!!
ReplyDeleteJill u looked amazing i wish you and derick nothing but the best in life and your hole family is amazing the best of luck cant wait to see the whole wedding this fall ... christie
ReplyDeleteI have never understood why weddings now have become so excessively lavish and now guests expect a fairy land experience of dressed chairs, costly center pieces and gourmet meals. It is counterproductive to starting a life together. It makes no sense at all to go thousands of dollars into debt the day one gets married. If cash were paid would it not be better to give that same money to the couple? Hopefully the Duggars weddings took back some ground on that crazy tradition.
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie do you know if Jackson is free because I love him and I'm the same age as him
ReplyDelete- Gabster epic
Do ya know the duggars because tomorrow's my birthday

Jill you and Derick are such a beautiful couple and y'all got married on the best day ever!!! My husband and I also got married on June 21, 2014. I love watching the show, you and your whole family are a great inspiration, thank you.
