ReplyDeletethe duggars and now the dillard's!
Keep up the good work Lily and Ellie!!!!!
Wow IHOP! Love the deal and celebration! Smart couple to take advantage of that. :)
ReplyDeleteI do not know about you but IHOP never been a cheap place to eat. Especially you have a big crowd to feed. but what can I say ....
ReplyDeleteWhen did you get married? I love your show
ReplyDeleteGreat way to pinch those pennies!
ReplyDeleteGlad they are so happy and appreciate them sharing.....
Hey Ellie I saw a current pic of Jessa and Ben from their mission work and was so pleased so see her sweet face breathing without all that foundation.....glad to see them so happy, the trip must of done them both some good to share and explore their own commitments.
I know that Jill likes to cook but I wonder if anyone gave them a bunch of restaurant gift cards for wedding presents like the Duggar girls did for Erin Bates.
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy way to eat out and for cheap too. My parents would of done the same if they had heard about this because their cheap out-to-a-meal people (sometimes). Did the rest of the Duggars go too?
ReplyDeleteAww they are so cute together !
ReplyDeleteOoohh.....how do fans that spot Derick and Jill out in a restaurant keep from going over to them and treating them like old friends? If a fan did do that Derick and Jill would be like, "duh do we know you, we are just here trying to enjoy our meals."
ReplyDeleteI am sure most fans would be respectful, and give Derick and Jill privacy. Book tours, speaking engagements, and maybe out and about in public (under some, but not all, circumstances) are places where it would be acceptable to walk up and say hello and maybe ask for a picture. Interrupting the couple while they are dining privately in a restaurant is not acceptable when they have no idea who you are, no matter how gracious they may seem.
DeleteThey are still glowing. IHOP has the best crepes. It is so nice to see this couple so happy and in love.
ReplyDeleteThe food may be inexpensive but the servers are not dressed properly I do not think. Why would Jill go there with Derick? They should spend more money and go to a restaurant where the servers dress decently. Or stay home and make pancakes, that does not cost much and it is easy. It was not right for them to go there, sorry.
ReplyDeleteWow. So do you think that Jesus shouldn't gave eaten with sinners too?
DeleteThank you for glorifying Jesus Christ, Jill and Derrick. Can someone tell me how to find an address to send them a gift? They are so sweet! Our Great God brought them together!
ReplyDeletehope they left a decent tip , which would go ny the original price of the pancakes with beverage. are they not working? just curious alot of time off or dont they work?
ReplyDeleteI just love you guys a lot. I just found your blog about two months ago, joined the site. I am 17 years old I live in N.C. God bless you. Love you.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma used to manage an Ihop in Florida. My uncles worked as chefs in the kitchen. Loved going there when we were on holiday.
ReplyDeleteHow cheap 56 cent pancakes a person!!! They both look so happy!! Im so happy for them too!!
ReplyDeleteIhop my favorite place of all time
ReplyDeleteI am allways there in ft Myers Florida
Very cheap but unhealthy. You would have to pay me to eat there!
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly and Ellie,do you have any updates on the older Duggers, such as Jana,John David and Joseph? Are they still living in the Dugger home, do they have jobs? I think I remember a couple seasons ago that the older boys had a towing business, and Jana is studying to become a Dula,is this correct? Are there any courtships on the horizon for John or Joseph? Jana?
ReplyDeleteThank you btw for maintaining a positive website for this family!
SWEET...can't get any better than that!<3
ReplyDeleteNice photo of Derick and his wife.
ReplyDeleteI want to congratulate you both on your marriage. I will continue to pray that the Lord will continually knit your hearts as one. Being kind to one another goes a long way! Be blessed
ReplyDeleteJust the cutest couple❤
ReplyDeleteHello Duggar family, my kids and I would love a response from you. We admire how you live your life! I would love for a chance for me and my kids to meet you! It would be a great testimony, and learning experience to maybe help others .
ReplyDeleteNow I haven't been to an Ihop in a long time So I don't rightly know how the waitstaff dresses but I think it's strange that someone thinks Jill and Derrick shouldn't go there because of the way the wait staff dress. I've noticed that well the Duggar's have their own standard of dress they do not judge others on how they choice to dress.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they are spending quality time together. Derick spent two years in Nepal and probably missed our chain restaurants, Jill's never gotten to spend a great deal of time with just 1 person out eating somewhere. I do hope fans are leaving them alone and letting them enjoy their meal. I've neve noticed anything wrong with the way IHOP waitresses dress. It's a family restaurant, not Hooters.

Lily and Ellie keep us up to date with information as the Duggar family makes it publicly known. These two ladies do a wonderful job at maintaining this blog, and they are incredibly respectful of the Duggar's wishes when they release new information. Unlike other blogs, these two ladies never post anything that is speculation only.

Of course Derick works (he is an accountant), and I am sure Jill is still training to complete her midwifery certification. You can still work full time (and that can be anywhere from 37.5 to 44 hours a week- so 7.5 hours, up to almost 9 hours daily) and have tons of available time to spend with your family. If you aren't parked in front of a television or computer screen for a couple of hours a day, or longer, it frees up loads of time to spend with family. Also, any employer will give an employee time off for a wedding and honeymoon. Even if it is a brand new job, the employer will always honour a request for that time off. The employer will make their final decision to hire based upon a special request like that. If any person is interviewing for a job and they know that they have a wedding and honeymoon within a few months, it would be very irresponsible to not mention this early on in the interview process.

You can always forward a gift to the public address provided by the Duggar family on their own website. Just address it to:
Derick and Jill Dillard

@Anonymous Wow that is judgmental. They are eating at IHOP, not Hooters...
ReplyDelete@AnonymousNot RIGHT for them to go there? That's an interesting comment. Seems like a nice, family friendly place to me ...
ReplyDeleteSo cute for a couple...always appreciate fun, cheap meal out!!!

ReplyDeleteDerrick does work and everyone has the right to go to a restaurant once in a while. You get what you work for and im sure that based on their economic situation they can go and let themselves to some super food occasionally! You reap what you sow...
People are supposed to consider their ways as the following scriptures will show. The act of questioning the paths of your feet is itself a good point, so I give some credit to the initial commenter who was trying to do that. The conversations that result, i.e. answers from some of the other commenters, are also note worthy as good counterpoint comments to that particular initial comment in this blog. My point to this discussion is that Jesus does give us some hope, He talks about people being 'right' in Matthew 5:6-16, those verses will follow some other Bible verses on the topic:
ReplyDeleteProverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts
Proverbs 16:2
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
Proverbs 5:21
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Job 34:21
"His eyes are on the ways of mortals; he sees their every step.
Proverbs 5:6
She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.
Proverbs 4:26
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
Matthew 5:6-16New King James Version (NKJV)
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
New King James Version (NKJV)
