ReplyDeleteI would hope that they do travel for their honeymoon since they both love to travel so much. Given that Derick just recently started his job, and that he and Jill must furnish a home for themselves, they may not be able to afford an overseas trip now. My husband and I traveled to Williamsburg for four days immediately following our wedding since he was still in school, and we later took a trip to Ireland, England and Holland, where we both have family. Even though this trip was a year after we married, it was still very special to us. Whatever Jill and Derick choose to do, they will bring lots of prayers and good wishes with them for a fabulous honeymoon, and a wonderful life together!

ReplyDeleteMight as well share my dream for an amazing honeymoon. I never had one but if I could now it would be a New England Harbor Cruise. No need to go out of the country for me. I've been to Cape Cod, Rhode Island & Martha's Vineyard. They are all beautiful & the history & romance of these places is awesome. I'm sure they will have a wonderful time wherever they choose to go. I wish them all the best.

I made 2 lists of honeymoon choices
I would probably send them to Hawii. It has places to help people and it can be romantic and also it would be at the beach since their wedding is in the summer. I am so excited for them!!!

ReplyDeleteI think ya'll should go to the beach where it is not too hot. Maybe the Bahamas or somewhere you can take excursions to private islands for a picnic and just explore and also - where it's safe to be out and about.
It won't matter though if you are in a cottage in the mountains or a tent in the backyard. The Lord and your love will follow you everywhere.

Niagara Falls. Cool climate for the summer, but not "beachy". Not sure Jill would enjoy the beach with her modesty standards. And Derick doesn't need to see other girs in bikinis. I know Jill's been to Niagara, but Derick? Its desighned for honeymooners, and they'd really get away for awhile. Not too frenzied either; they could just relax and spend time together without the chaperones!

Hear the fairy chug in every morning from your open balcony french doors.
Walk through the cobblestone courtyard to the fresh bakery early in the early morning.
Over look the fresh mist over the beautiful Caribbean Blue lake and watch the families of swan glide across the shadows of the sunrise and sunset. They have battery operated boats for rent too to visit the other islands and there is an ice cave close by to explore.
The sound of music was filmed north of the little town in Salzburg.

And the comment about the Gosselin family is inappropriate. Kate is just trying to raise her family, and sees the Duggar's raking in hundreds of thousands for having an inordinate amount of children. She is just following the Duggar example. Why should her show not be accepted by people, just as the Duggar show is accepted. God DID SAY not to judge, didn't he?

ReplyDeleteWell, I think Mackinaw Island is the best! Scenic and serene. Luxurious view of Lake Michigan and Huron where they come together. Breath-taking views from our bridge. (Have camera on the ready). No matter where Derrick and Jill decide to go, I hope they have a fantabulous time! Blessings to both families.
ReplyDeleteThey need lots of unchaperoned time together to get to know eachother more intimately, for sure.Maybe spend a week at their new home at first, until the complete newness is gone then take the next week to enjoy somewhere beautiful, because that fist week you dont see much else but one another anyway. I pray the Lord blesses you both in your marriage, finding that special someone that God has chosen for you is truly a gift :) Always be open to each others opinions, learn to compromise on those hard decisions, lean on one another through the hard times, and lift each other up. I could see Jill and Derick having a very romantic honeymoon, lots of flowers. The beach is so HOT this time of year, plus there is so much immodesty :( that is a trip better for the Fall/early Spring season when you can go whale watching ;). I could see them going somewhere spectacular to see. Since they both like traveling they could take a trip to Scotland/Ireland or if they wanted to stay in the states a cruise to Alaska, I hear it is beautiful this time of year.

ReplyDeleteWhen I think of a wedding and a couple leaving for their honeymoon, I just think ... and they lived happily ever after ... I might take a light interest in the destination if it were told to me ... that is it, I like to take a light interest in the news of the newlyweds, (please some commenters do not go there when it comes to some topics), but if I participate in this question I would say Jill would want to imitate her parents and Erin and Chad, and Derick seems the type to like to head off on a getaway to a mountain cabin in his s.u.v. and then they likely will go to the airport and fly to a far away place also like Chad and Erin did but all your guesses are as good as mine, and I pray that then the Lord take captive the thoughts of my mind and head my thinking in a direction pleasing to you, (I need the Lord to help me because there are places my mind should not go)!

I think they would want to go to Israel, since they both like it there. And Derick got Jill's diamond solitaire ring from there.
ReplyDeleteThey've already been to Nepal, and Jill has been to Ireland, Scotland, and England.
I hope she will go by the name of "Jill Duggar Dillard" to avoid that redundant sound of "Jill Dill."
Oh well, still it won't be as bad as when Hannah Sykes married, and became Hannah Bohannan! : )
