Josh and Anna Duggar celebrated Anna's birthday
With David and Priscilla Waller (Anna's brother-in-law and sister)
Anna said that, like clockwork, people start asking if she is pregnant once her youngest child is three or four months old. Anna is content with where she is in life and trusts that God knows how to plan a family better than she and Josh do.
On another note, David and Priscilla are expecting their second child in November. We met the Wallers (such a genuine family!) at the wedding, and Priscilla definitely has a pregnancy glow.

ReplyDeleteThankyou for clearing up all the rumors!! My mum kept getting asked after her babies were about one or two when the next baby would be or whether she would have any more. If you all remember when she was pregnant with Marcus, she said she was not and within a few days took a pregnancy test and she was. My guess would be that at the wedding she does not take a test so she can honestly say, "no I'm not" because that is their way. It was Jill's day. Within a bit I betcha she takes a test and announces yes they are expecting again.

ReplyDeleteI wish people didn't think that they have a right to ask if she is pregnant. I mean if she is then I'm sure she'll let people know. But it's just awkward to ask if you know what I mean. I love Anna and all the duggars. I'm just saying if I was in her position, I would be annoyed with that question. Please let her have her privacy esp. with the most intimate details of her life. Stop prying for your own curiosity.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that she is not pregnant yet. Children are a blessing and it is great to trust God, but it is nice to have some space between babies!

ReplyDeleteDeeds, always about good deeds. Good deeds don't get you to heaven. She is in the greatest mission work, her family. Her values and teaching will touch and bring more souls to Christ than any week long trip.
DeleteBy living her life publicly, Anna is helping countless families and, in particular young women to whom she provides guidance. Her life is full as a wife, mother and primary educator for her children. I believe that she ministers to far more people in her current role than she would if she chose to pursue a different type of ministry.
DeleteI know she's in the spotlight but still I feel for her. It's absolutely no ones business ever to ask any woman if she's pregnant, how many kids she's going to have, etc, etc. Let her volunteer that if she wants to, otherwise just be happy for her!

ReplyDeleteGive Anna a break. She dosen't have to a baby over other year! And it really would be nice for Jill to finish up her midwife studies and her and Derick to just enjoy each other before adding a baby to the mix. Let's not be in any hurry.

ReplyDeletePaul, David & Priscilla's, son is 15.5 months old (He'll be 16 months old on July 16). He's 3 months older than Marcus, Josh & Anna's youngest. David and Priscilla are also expecting their 2nd child in November of this year.
Anonymous #18...please note that Anna has chosen motherhood and that IS mission work that is super hard and very easy to dismiss if priorities shift to other things. To focus on too many other ministries outside her motherhood would be very distracting to the mission she already has...although being involved with the Body of Christ in ways that don't distract from her mothering mission is of course a blessing to her and others.

My mom saw Anna and Marcus at a homeschool conference Josh was speaking at. The other kids were there, too. Marcus crawled over to my mom. It was cute!
ReplyDeleteI hope Anna enjoyed her birthday, too! I am happy she put all the pregnancy rumors to rest. It is no one's business but she and Josh's as to when and if the have more children. I loved that she said she was "content". God values contentment.

ReplyDeleteSince the Duggar family speaks out so loudly about their position on fertility and babies they open the forum up to question. If they expect to state their views and preference, no birth control, not monitoring "fertile days", welcoming multiple babies until nearly physically impossible due to age, it is my opinion that most viewers feel that they also are invited to ask them about these things and not be shy about it. They certainly are not shy about speaking their opinions and views. For this reason, they open themselves up to be asked. It's as simple as that.

ReplyDeleteIt makes me so sad when I read comments suggesting that work outside of the home, (regardless of how worthy that work may be) should take precedence or be held in higher regard than work in the home. I think it sends a very UNHEALTHY message to mothers and children. The mother she is sent message that her work in the home is not as valuable and her contribution to the development of her children is not as important as what she could be contributing to others outside of the home. To the children I think it sends a message that the child is not as important as the ministry. Isn't the work that goes on in the home a ministry? It is important, indeed crucial! "No success can compensate for failure in the home." (David O. McKay) and finally, I will add that there are seasons in life and from my perspective Anna's focus seems perfectly suited for this time in her life, and she is really ministering every day. I am sure she is reaching many souls and the Lord uses her in ways for which she is uniquely qualified. Please as gently as I can say it, please consider how these subtle words of criticism can effect not just Anna but other mothers reading this blog. If you happen to find yourself involved in a ministry that you feel the Lord has led you to, rejoice and serve in whatever capacity he asks you to, but please consider refraining from judging another woman's calling in life. Blessings.

ReplyDeleteHas anyone else noticed how much weight Anna has lost!? Started adjusting her own food choices and activity level and that of her family during the Josh's and Jim Bob's weight loss challenge. Her own weight wasn't just baby weight, she put on extra "after" Michael was born. Looks like she's lost a lot of that extra weight since Marcus was born. Good for you Anna!

ReplyDeleteI think the world of Anna..I think it was so brave of her to venture out with Josh and 3 kids. It was awesome watching her put together that play area on their deck all by herself...she's got mad skills!!
