I think she is engaged, no purity ring, only a heart necklace on, and she signs up to twitter as jessaseewald? I think they aren't announcing it till after Jill's wedding. That and they have been courting since September. Jimbob and Michelle aren't concerned about age. Just maturity. And Michelle has said that jessa is ready for marriage. And I don't think they would of let Ben court her unless he was ready. They would of told him to gain some maturity and then come back and ask. If she isn't engaged then they should withdraw the photo to prevent any speculation. As well as change the name on her twitter account. And yes, it's an official account as the dug gars twitter account linked to their website asked followers to welcome her to twitter.

ReplyDeleteWhy do these people take so many pictures? It's not only of Ben and Jessa, but I have never known a family to have so many photographs. What do they do with them?

ReplyDeleteThey are cute but too young to get married, it won't hurt if they wait a bit. Both of them should get their educations first.
ReplyDeleteI know we all are so excited for engagements and weddings. But it's a little sad that so many are trying to rush Ben and Jessa into engagement. They are both very young. And they haven't even been together for a year. Just because it was the right plan for Jill to progress quickly through the stages of courtship and engagement, doesn't mean that it's the right thing for her sister. Sisters can be very different from each other. Couldn't we all just be happy that they are happy and in love and let them progress at the timing that's right for them?
ReplyDeleteAmen! I remember how horrid the pressure was on my boyfriend and I to get engaged. I'm so glad we waited until *we* were ready, even if other people disagreed with our timetable. Give them space, people!

ReplyDeleteI like Jessa's hair in the bun (4th pic) - looks very elegant. Maybe when she and Ben do decide to get married - I think that would be a real nice look for her for the wedding. Also to Jessa and Ben - take your time, have fun and get to know each other, remember - marry in haste repent in leisure! Just take it one day at a time - you will know when and if its right

ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that some viewers and posters see this family as entertainment. They are not entertainment, they are real people with lives; such as they are. So, "wanting to see" engagements, babies, etc., is playing with this family like chess pieces. Marriage is the most important decision these girls will ever be allowed to make. No one should be made to feel they are a game for others to observe and have fun with; like football. Wishing them "the right decision", waiting to see what happens is another matter.

I must say, the duggar family is far more conservative than ours, in terms of skirts, homeschool, and courtship, but yet they take so many selfies! Our family is against selfies. Not that they are evil or anything but just that we believe that they focus so much on one's self. I don't see why the duggar family is exempt from the self centered-ness of selfies anymore than anyone else is.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I met when I was 17 and he was 18. We dated for five years until we got married. Lot's people were asking why we were taking it so slow. We personally didn't see much need to get married right away. We wanted to make sure we had good quality marital counseling and were both on the same page in certain areas of life. So I understand the fact that Ben and Jessa are just ttaking it nice and slow. There's no rush, after all Ben in only 18.

Just because they have raise kids with more morals and respect than most people do now a days people want to put them down and I dont agree with that. I think they did a great job raising 18 kids.
