Happy Fathers' Day to all the dads out there. I really felt for Josh when he was faced with having to say goodbye to his parents when Josh moved to D.C.; it was a new emotion for him, but it is a good thing for them to be defining themselves with some distance from his family. Anna already left hers for Josh. I hope they both continue to grow into the adult that they wish to be and that Josh be a more involved father, ie, know how to cook, do laundry, change diapers, etc. His father has shown that he can't make an omelet himself, which is sad.
By the way, folks, I feel for Derick and his brother today...such a sad and unexpected shock to have lost their father in such a manner. I hope that God blesses these two guys with an even happier adult life and I am glad that their mother is still a loving, hands-on mom, who has an interest in her childrens' lives. I, too, lost my father, so I know how Derick feels, I wasn't as young as he and his brother were.
Happy Birthday Michael I can't believe you're 3. It seems like just yesterday you were a twinkle in your parents eyes. Have a wonderful and blessed birthday.
Not to be contrary, but I don't think a man's ability to whip up an omelet or throw a load of wash in has a thing to do with quality parenting. It is pretty evident to me that JB puts as much into the rearing of the children as Michelle. I don't take the trash out in my household, but that does not make me a bad parent. I don't know how to change a flat tire, but that does not make me a bad driver. My husband knows how to change a flat and he has enough sense to provide AAA and a cell phone for his wife. We all pitch in and give our best. Theoretically, we are a stronger team working together and utilizing our gifts and talents to better the family. So what if I do all of the cooking. If I died tomorrow I know my family would grieve over the loss of me, not my cooking skills. I also know they would step up to the plate and do what needed to be done. It just seems unfair to focus on what you perceive as a deficit. Nothing wrong with traditional household chore distribution as far as I am concerned.
Michael is SO cute!!!! He looks like my little brother's friend who is 41/2. He has the same hair cut and round face as well as blue eyes and his name is also Michael!!!!!!!! What a coincidence!!!!!! Have a great birthday Michael, enjoy being 3!!!!!!!
To the person that doesn't know how to change a flat tire. How can you not know how to change a tire? It's really simple, you should learn how it's done just in case your husband forgets to charge your phone for you or you forget to bring the phone with you. Or just so you can say proudly to yourself "Yes! I know how to change a tire!" Really, look it up on youtube or something.
