I have to say, since they are from Arkansas and I see the ocean behind them, it has to be Florida.
ReplyDeleteCape Cod. If not, too bad, it's really beautiful there. I used to visit there before my sisters passed away. I have nieces there still but it's too hard to go without my sisters being there. That looks like a sand dune in Cape Cod in their picture. Wherever they are I'm sure they are having a blissful time. They're newlyweds, they see everything through rose colored glasses.

ReplyDeleteAbout that other trip, which is the Jessa and Ben excursion to Hot Springs, Arkansas, - now on this trip, since the previous trip when Jinger reported it to be embarrassing to chaperone them (Def.- chaperon, an adult who accompanies or supervises young people on social occasions) maybe no more of the adult children volunteer for this responsibility. Now how can the Duggars pre-marital courting guidelines still be taken seriously when youngsters like Justin and Johannah are the chaperones on a long trip like this?

ReplyDeletePersonally I am getting a little tired of always having information held back from the shows and social media and "managed" for one (good?) reason or another (good?) reason. Now all of the time it is like the cat in the bag that can't be let out. Where are Jill and Derick, is Anna really not pregnant or is she actually just not taking the pregnancy test until it is the most TLC appropriate time?, are Jessa and Ben really engaged and just waiting until after the attention goes to Jill and for the most TLC appropriate time to announce their engagment - so then the media can do all the interviews, is Jana in a courtship...., is Jinger in a courtship...., is John David in a courtship ..., all of this is TLC fodder now. The Bible verse 'speak the truth one to another in love' may be set aside for the quip, 'ask me no questions and I'll tell you no....' . I guess I should be understanding, but this is only 'normal' to celebrity lifestyles, not your average lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI agree to the point that it seems they've gotten a bit too good at living out their lives for the cameras for being "normal" people. Josh has always been good at what would make for "good tv" (like calling the camera to be there before he told Anna SHE was pregnant). I can understand selling the rights to the pics, they probably got a good amount of money to help Jill and Derick jump start their lives but keeping every little detail top secret is pretty annoying and a constant reminder that they maybe aren't quite as ordinary and real as they try to appear. They need to worry more about enjoying that one of their children just got married and being able to brag about it instead of constantly plugging the show. We'd still watch to see how it all played out!

ReplyDeleteI am so utterly happy for them! It's nice that they keep things private for a while. I don't know if I could handle the "fishbowl" so professionally. They aren't on the emerald coast (Gulf), so I would guess the Carolina's :)
ReplyDeleteCelebrity media is a big and not always fair industry. One day it is for the stars and the next it is telling half truths about them. The Duggars are becoming very sought after celebrities because they choose that industry as their means of income and way of life. All the decisions that are launching them into the celebrity world are theirs to make. They do have the personality, good looks and talent which are usually prerequisites for fame. Their is some kind of difference between them and the down to earth Bates which I do not get because the Bates are just the same.

ReplyDeleteI really don't think there in the Florida pandhandle; the water is too dark blue in color. The Florida beaches by the Gulf are more like a greenish blue color. They look different than this usually.

ReplyDeleteMy guess would be somewhere continental US since Derick's mom is getting treatment he would probably want to be able to get back quick if he needed to. The Gulf Coast typically doesn't have water that blue (it tends to be a "dirty" blue with the mud the MS river turns up) SO my Sherlock guess would be somewhere from FL to NC with the most obvious being Myrtle Beach like Josh and Anna.

They just got married, Jill has never been alone nor alone with anyone outside of her family... I hope they take time to get to know how life is for them before children. That will be a "no going back" situation. Wish them real happiness together first, when the newness wears off; they it's time to think about children. If you have realtions without a safeguard of any sort, a baby will result, even for sinners...so how it is some miracle every time? It's just following the recipe that God gave us for babies....

ReplyDeleteI just found out over the internet that you Jill & Derick were married in June of this year & now a baby on the way. Well I have watched the show for years, wondering how or what your father does for a living to take care of so many children. I know that if not for you older young ladies that your mom would of been able to take care of all of you. I have not read the book so maybe that maybe in there, but I hope that you as well as your other siblings enjoy life with your spouses before only being married now 2 months & already starting your family. There is so much that you & Derick haven't got to do yet. Still so much that you should of done together, and still to learn about each other. I am happy for you Jill hopefully Jessa will wait longer. I really hope the best for these two new lives that are just starting out.

Now here you are Jill remembering when you & your mother was in the kitchen cooking together, and she stated that she hoped that you would start having grandbabies right away, That was said by her because she said it herself she misses having babies in the home. I believe that you, and Derick needed to be married at least as long as you two have know each other before y'all started your family so soon. I pray that God will let Jessa and Ben have at least a year or longer to enjoy getting to know each other after marriage as they did before the marriage.
