John-David Duggar, the third oldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children, is currently out of the country.
Nathan Bates, the fifth oldest of Gil and Kelly Bates' 19 children, was compelled to service when he heard about the tropical storms that hit the Philippines in November. He immediately began raising funds and gathering supplies for the typhoon victims.
To take his efforts one step further, Nathan organized a mission trip. John-David Duggar and Lawson Bates, Nathan's older brother, were eager to help, so the three men headed out to Tacloban. They rise at 6am, doing medical mission work by day and teaching Bible studies by night. (John and Nathan are able to administer medicine because they are trained first responders.)

ReplyDeleteI love what they are doing. I am LDS and when we go on missions boys go for two years and girls go for 18 months and serve others and spread the gospel. This is one excellent way that we can do just that. Thanks for what you are doing. This is. Just one more way to spread the lords gosple. : D

different laws/rules for being able to PASS MEDICATION! HOPE YOUR ARE CORRECT? MED CLASSA DRUG INTERACTIONS ETC. ALSO IF THESE PEOPLE TAKE MEDS ARE THEY AWARE OF DRUG INTERACTIONS. PLEASE RESPOND DIFFERENT STATES/COUNTRIES DIFFERENT LAWS. DUGGAROR NOT A DUGGAR
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that there are competent people who are in charge of all of this and that those dispensing medication are well trained. Being a Duggar doesn't entitle them to do these things. Good grief.

This was a kind and selfless act on the part of these young men. They weren't there to have fun. And who could? The Phillipines on a good day, is a poor, dirty, hot & humid country. Give these guys a break.

Being a Duggar doesn't entitle them, but training entitles them and they have given up their time and energy to go for the training, have you?!?!?!? Get over yourselves. Let a good deed be a good deed and go somewhere else!!!! Another proud Duggar Fan.

ReplyDeleteHello. I am the lady who talked to you young men about your mission trip at the Chattanooga, TN Barnes & Noble on 3/17/14. I told you that my daughter and I went to the Philippines over Christmas for a medical mission in my mom’s hometown north of Manila (Amulung, Cagayan). I wish I could have stayed longer to hear more about your experiences. I think it’s wonderful that you were able to go there and help. I was fortunate not to have relatives in the Tacloban area but as a Filipina, I’m grateful for the generosity you showed to the people there. God Bless You!
