Which we did. All 6 of them. Why? Because we started with the first one. Then the second one without really thinking about it....and so we decided they should ALL have it. It's fun and unique and we get lot's of questions about it.
Our last name also happens to start with a C!
Let me tell you....it was SO easy to label the children's clothing for school. We just passed the clothing down in ages and I never had to change the initials on the shoes or clothes. HA ha. Easy Peasy.
My husband and I both have our first name start with a D and sometimes we have opened up each others post because they dont add the different middle initial, so if I named all our kids the same letter I guess I would continue the D, but I would be sure to have a different middle initial for each and differing from my husbands and mine.
(B) My two children are Brenden and Blakeleigh. (B) has a lot of popular names. Brian(my husbands name), Brandi(my name), Brooke, Brad, Brittany, Bethany, Brock. I could go on forever. Haha.
I'd have to choose different ones for the boys and girls... I like 'A' for girls, but I'm not really sure on boys... Maybe 'P', after my dad... so many choices!!
In our house of 8 children and counting.......the girls names all start w the letter k. There are 4 girls and 4 boys. The boys names letter are k,c,n,and I, as we could think of enough boy names we liked that started we k.
If I had to stick to one letter, I would probably choose "L". I doubt that I would/will stick with one though, I like variety. :) In my family, there are two girls and two boys, who all have the letter "J", but I find it kind of interesting that none of the 19 Duggar kids have any of our names! Jonathan, Janine (Janni), Jarrett, and Jacquelyn. Thanks for the wonderful blog!
All our first names start with K - we didn't really think about it when choosing a name for our first child - it just happened. When searching a name for our second child it was sure that we wouldn't leave him out and so we were just looking for names starting with K.
I wanted to choose A,B,C... but we already have a Jacob, and a Wyatt, so it's too late. Lol, guess we'll have to do this with our animals? ;) Who knows what we'll name the next baby if we're lucky enough to have more!
I find it interesting that the Duggars haven't used my name, Joanna. They have a Joy-Anna and a Johanna, but not Joanne or Joanna. My names first name is Janet, my aunt's Joanne, I have an uncle Joe, Aunt Janette, and a cousin Jody. None of these names have been used by the Duggars.
I mostly definitly would us the letter "J". I want to in fact and have two little girls named Jordan and Josie. Boys, my fabvorite J names are Jeremiah and Johnathan, but I also love the names Michael and David.
I only have one child and I am too old to have more. But when I was pregnant I decided I would never have children with names that started all with the same letter. Especially with mail, that might be confusing. And not everbody uses the next initial(s). By the way, my son is called Reuben.
I chose L. And like the Duggars I didn't do it on purpose. I didn't want anyone to be left out! I have Luke, Levi, Londyn, and LillyAnne. I have a few more names up my sleeve too...Liberty and Layla for a girl and Lawson and Lex for a boy. :)
My husband and I already have our names picked out for our first children "Aiden" and "Aubree" we aren't necessarily trying to get pregnant but we aren't trying to stop it. All in the lords time is how we choose to look at it.
Really difficult question - I could probably do lots of different letters. My kids are Jennah, Gavin, Braden, Mariah, and Carter - all different letters. I think if I tried I could have went all J, B, M, or C, but not all G. Don't know what I could have done for the girls with that - maybe Gennevieve? Can't think of another, or any other good boys names. I'm sure they are out there though :)
Amaya (means night rain) Avia (means bird like) Aven (mountain, a plant) Ayla (moon like) Avari (bird like, from the sky) Aurora (linked to the northern lights)
I like the link to nature they all have. The meanings are a constant reminder of the important, natural, non-materialistic things people often lose sight of.
Mine are named: ~ Addison Jordon ~ Alyssa Janelle ~ Alexander Jerrard And if it were possible, I would definitely have many more Blessings and continue with the same initials. Praying for grandchildren though...would be fun to see my kids continue the tradition:)
I didn't want to use all the same letter when naming our children. Both my husband and I agreed that we wanted to use Bible names for each of our children's first names and a family name for their middle name.
We have a Joshua, Ruth, Hannah, Jonathan, Elijah, and Elisabeth.
I guess if we had gone with one letter it would have probably been a "J" or an "E". There are a lot of" J" names in the Bible. :-)
Lily and Ellie I was wondering if you gals could maybe do a before and after of the duggars. Like a picture when they first appeared on the show or how they looked in the first few specials and then one of the recent pictures. Please consider this.
I have 8 kids and the oldest 2 start with an A, next 2 are M,s, than 2 S's, and 2 J's...we are expecting are 9th baby in Feb. And I'm thinking about going with L!
My line up goes like this: Alexander, Andrew, Makaela, Madison, Samantha, Sophia, Jonathan, Josephine
I don't know.. I know I couldn't stick any one letter. In my family we have an accidental theme with middle names of me and my sisters. The oldest one's middle name is Zsanene (a soft "sh"- "neen"). My middle name is Jolene. And my twin sister's middle name is Rene.
J We have 5 children all 5 of them have the same 3 initials. no, we are not Duggar copy cats. We had at least 3 before I had even heard of the Duggars.
We chose not to go with a these, but I did want to name my kids with J's. My oldest is Jamin ,and my next is Kena,I wanted Jena instead.... the next two are Lawsen and Weston, and I really wanted to do the J thing and go with Justice and Jathan. THen our last one would have been Jocelyn instead of Avalon.... BUt sometimes I'm glad we didn't do that to them. lol

Huuumm... I'm not sure what letter I would chose, because I like so many names and they all start with the different letters (LetÃcia, Inês, Marcos, CecÃlia, etc). But if I had to, I think I would probably chose letter A or J, because they are the initials of my name and my husband's name (Andrea and Julio).

I am not sure if I would pick a beginning letter. For the boys' names I would pick a Hebrew name that tells about God. For the girls' names I would pick names that end with the letter A. Anonymous 011889

Love this thread, so many fun names! We intentionally want every kid to have a different first letter (and different then ours). We have a Lorelei and a Daphne. If we picked just one, it would have been L though!
The only name we could agree on was Meredith for our first. When we found out our second was a boy, we chose Miles. For months it was Miles, a name I have loved for years. Then someone said something ugly about the name and "ruined" it for us. :( So we picked Kyle instead. Now that he is ten, I can't believe we almost named him differently.
If I had to pick a letter ~ I'd chose probably K, L or M.
Kyle Kylie Kendall Kevin Kyler Kamden Korie

Meredith Madeline Matthew Mark Miriam Mackenzie Michael Miles Mary
Well, I would choose the letter S, L or J. Not to copy the Duggars, but a few of my favourite names start with a J (like Jordan, Jane, Joy, Jette, Juliet, James, Jackson, Joseph, Jacob, Joachim). And the S, because my name is Sophie. The L, because I love the names Liam, LillyAnne, Louise, Lucy, Levi and Liesbeth (a variation of Elisabeth, my Christian name). But there are so many nice names that I haven't decide IF I would give all my children the same first letter, but I very sure that I would never give my children the same initials, that would be so inept!!
I think it would be cool to have all the letters of the alphabet, like this: Andrew, Bethany, Charity, Deborah, Ethan, Felix, Gabriel, Heidi, Isaiah, Judah, Katrina, Leslie, Malachi, Naomi, Oliver, Priscilla, Quentin, Rayna, Seth, Titus, Ursula, Victoria, Walter, Xavier, Yolanda and Zoe. Not that I would have 24 children (me and my husband could have the other 2 letters), but it would be cool. :)
I like the names Gabriella, Scarlet, Alexandra, Madelyn, Isabella, Justina, Maria, Francesca, Sophia, Camilla, Guiliana, Leah, Filomena, Justina, Cecelia, Victoria, Mackenzie, Hannah......idk what letter to pick
A & E. What we did was use my husbands middle initial (e) and my first initial (d), then my middle initial (a) and his first inital (m). We had Adam Michael, Evan Daniel, Aron Miles, Emily Danice and Analy Margaret. darlene

R. I have always loved the name Rose, and I promised my brother that my first son would be named Robert, in his memory. My boyfriend and I agreed on R middle names instead; his middle name is Roger.
Why choose just one initial? I have 4 children and their names can all be shortened to 4 letters. I didn't really plan it that way but that is how it happened. Gregory, Ryan, Caitlin and Bradley... Greg, Ryan,. Cait, and Brad (But he doesn't really like that name. He goes by Bradley.).
