  3. Interesting! Do you know if the Duggar girls have ever read "Preparing to be a Help Meet" by Debi Pearl? I know Jill once mentioned reading "Before You Meet Prince Charming." Which I'm actually reading now! :D

  4. I wonder why Joy Anna looks so bored with the conversation at the end of the clip...she's probably not even thinking about this type of subject just yet!

  5. So glad that Joy was finally included with the older girls!
I thought the duggars weren't allowed to show their knees but Joy is showing her knees.

  6. I am 13 and I already have studied my bible and written a list of characteristics of Godly men. I also have a list of personality type things that I am looking for in a husband. I figure the more time I have to pray and prepare myself for marriage the better! Just out of curiosity when did you Duggars fans start thinking about your future spouse??

  7. I think this was the day of the photo shoot. They are wearing the same outfits as in the pictures

That's all great that you're doing all that! I probably first started thinking about my future husband when I was around 14. :) (I'm 16 now.)

  14. Joyanna looks a little young for the group.

  15. I am happy to hear about what they want in a husband I am looking for a husband with almost the same things as the Duggar girls want!

  16. Any girl / women should be thinking about their education before any husband. That means College and the ability to support oneself and one's children in the event, god forbid something where to happen to your husband. I wish the Duggar daughter’s could go to college.

  17. I started preparing myself for a wife when I was about 14. Three years agoI learned to be content being single with the Lord first before filling my mind with a wife. I am now 23 and content still, never having dated nor courted a young lady yet. I am glad the Duggars are also learning to be content when they are single first. It is a good example for other young teens to follow.

  18. I don't think Joyanna looks to young, just not really interested in the subject matter, so rather inappropriate for her. She seemed to be pushed to be included, but probably didn't want to be there.

  19. When I tell anybody what I want in a husband (almost identical to the Duggar girls), they tell me "He dosen't exist." The real difference from the Duggar women's desires is that I will "NOT" switch my daily clothes from pants to skirts, and he'll have to support my passion for dance (the performing arts, not immodest dance floor).

  20. I respect the family unit they have created but think if Michelle continues to have children- she should not expect the older ones to be "free baby sitters". That's just plain wrong. I know they've been reared in a non traditional way bc they aren't allowed to "think for themselves". They only believe the teachings or brainwashing of their parents . Very sad . I believe in God and Jesus and so do my grown children but they were not pressured to believe a certain thing and are allowed to use their minds to question religions and the bible....since everyone knows it has been translated too many times to count- and with translation also comes one individual's interpretation not millions.... All I'm saying is that it saddens me to see people with their heads in the sand and purposefully so.....because they don't want their "perfect belief system" tainted nor subject to critique.

  21. I wish the Duggars would stop putting emphasis on physical contact between a woman and a man as being the one-all, be-all supreme state of life. God said in His word that ALL are not supposed to be married and I don't think the Duggars read that passage. It gets "up my craw" so much to hear parent praying for their baby's "partner in life." The prayer should be "If it God's will that this baby should have a partner in life....."

  23. I think Joyanna is in the picture with the "older" girls talking about men and marriage because once a "younger" Duggar girl (or little one) makes that transition into "womanhood" (you know what I mean--the ability to produce babies), the girls are thrown out of the "little ones" crowd and put into the "older" girls crowd that is brain-washed that they are put on this earth to be wives and mothers and that is their sole purpose in life (according to the Duggars). Not so is the case for all as the Bible says. Just the Duggars, et al. brainwashing young people. You watch -- one will break out of the mold and will stay single, develop a successful career, and go on to greatness as a fabulous single woman...not lacking in any way in the eyes of society or in the eyes of our Creator.

The Duggars are not "Brainwashing" there kids! I don't think that the Duggars believe that God wants all women to get married and have children. Mr. Jim bob and Mrs Michele have found a joy in being married and having kids and want there children to share in that joy. The older girls are preparing to be married or single. Jill and Jana don't have to be married to be a midwife! The Bible says in proverbs 31, "A good wife, who can find" Why not train a generation of good wives. You can train for marriage and if marriage isn't God's plan for you, stay single. I am 13, from a small family, but i desire to be married and have many kids, so I am preparing for that, but I understand that God is in control. I am giving him more clay to choose from in molding me. I think it is the older Duggar girls desire to prepare for marriage and motherhood! Anyone agree with me???

    1. I do. Keep going strong, young lady. Although we can learn to be content in singleness and marriage, the ultimate thing is to be perfectly content with Him. Keep this as your vision, and your life will be beautiful.

  25. Awesome Ladies of character! I am proud of you just watching you. Since I have no daughters, only sons, it is amazing to see you all sticking to your convictions and not being persuaded by others who would like to make you out to be "weak" for not going with the "norm" in society today. It isn't the "norm" to reach out and serve others, love your family, embrace faith in God, and work on being the best your can be. Thank the Lord for your strength! Stay pure, stay focused, and stay in love with life!

You keep going strong! Don't Quit on the Lord! The Dugger are a BIG encouragement to me! Hope they are to everyone else too!

  27. In reply to the Anonymous posters who said that "God is in control" about whether they get married- it makes me wonder what purpose life has to you? Do you not make choices and have free will? I grew up a Christian but never heard talk like that.

I think it's great the Duggar and Bates girls speak about courtship or "dating with purpose" because there is too much sleeping around on other tv shows and it's nice to expose this lifestyle.

  28. Kelly,

I believe that God, the one true God is in controll of everything. This means that he knows what will happen and that he makes all things work together for the good of those who trust him and are called according to his purposes. The Bible says, I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you to give you a future and a hope. God being all powerful, in in controll of everything! My purpose in life is to glorify God. I am trying to obey his commandments, grow in him, and bring glory to him. I do make choices, but god is all powerful so he knows all the choices i will ever make and the holy spirit can help me make the right choices! I hope that this answers you questions.

  29. I know the Bible says God knows all the choices you will make but that doesn't mean they aren't YOUR choices. I've heard too many Christians blaming failures or things they don't like about their life as "part of God's plan for them" when it reality, they screwed up or didn't work hard enough, etc. It takes effort to find yourself a spouse, I worry too many Christians sit back and just hope one will present himself (I'm guilty of this thinking, too).

It reminds me of this doc about an ex-Amish family that is on the brink of homelessness and desperation because the father won't get a real job or find a real way to make money since he's convinced God will provide for his family. Things get pretty bad.

  38. Hello all! I've been following the posts on here, especially the ones from those who have grown up in church, but are a bit unsure about certain theologies and what not. I became a Chrisitan later in life, and I want to encourage you all to visit livingwaters.com (check w/ parents those that need to of course). It is not a certain denomination, and has great resources like "save yourself some pain" that have greatly encouraged me. God bless :)

  40. Wow that is so funny - Jana is just like me! Quiet when you first meet her, but then talkative when you get to know her. You go Jana!!! (she's my favorite I think) :)

  41. Do you know if its still possible to just drop in for a visit at the Duggar's home (of course they'd have to be notified first)?? We have some friends who did that and its still possible we (my family and I) would love to.

    Hi Anonymous,

That is something that you will have to contact the Duggars about. Due to safety issues, they now have a fence surrounding their property.

  45. Wonderful how the young lady’s express themselves sincerely and honestly. They respect and share the values Jim Bob and Michelle have taught them. They are raised with Christian family values and principles that were ‘traditional’ for generations and live respecting and servicing the Lord. May God bless them in all He desires for them.

Nice they have Joy-Anna sitting with her older sisters for an interview but I don’t want her to grow up! Joy-Anna reminds me a lot of Lucy Pevensie in the Narnia movies and I would not want Lucy to grow-up either – but she also grows up. (sorry, I’m a Narnia fanatic and find the Duggar Family very Narnian)
