On Saturday, Ellie had a chat with Jill Duggar. The older girls (Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger) are writing a book on their life experiences and the lessons that they have learned thus far. Visit the blog each day this week for new material from Ellie's conversation with Jill.
Ellie: Whose idea was it to write the book?
Jill: "My dad has always brought up the idea--'Hey, y'all should write a book.' So as far as the original idea, I think it was a mutual agreement between us girls and my parents as far as what we wanted to express."
Ellie: How is it coming along? Have you set a release date?
Jill: "We are still in the rough phases of the book, going between our friend/ghost writer in Georgia and trying to get this thing on a roll. I think we are running on "Duggar time" though and have a feeling our summer date will be pushed back a little....Hopefully it will be out sometime this year."
Ellie: Who is your target audience?
Jill: "Girls--that's our main target audience, since we're girls....I think there will be a variety of readers, but our show is watched mainly by women, so probably it will be moms buying it for their daughters."
NICE!

ReplyDeleteI really like the daughters; but can't imagine their book will be written from their own heart. I seem to feel their Dad will have a lot input and the final proof.
ReplyDeleteWow! Terrific, I think that lots of women would love to read a book from the perspective of the older Duggar girls.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the next installment of the chat - so FUN.
Any of the girl fans of the Duggars out there, what would you like to read in the Duggar 'girls' book?
It is amazing and awesome that they are taking time out of their crazy busy schedules to put their thoughts and experiences together!
How exciting!!! :D
ReplyDeleteglad to hear..... thanks for this blog update.
ReplyDeletecindie
I really liked the way the other books are written. They seem so personal. I hope that this one is still that way, even though it's ghost written.

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
They haven't set a release date yet but are hoping to have it on the shelves by the end of the year. We will keep you posted. And yes, that was the real Jill that Ellie spoke with. :)

ReplyDelete"Girls--that's our main target audience, since we're girls....I think there will be a variety of readers, but our show is watched mainly by women, so probably it will be moms buying it for their daughters."
ReplyDeleteNo, not girls Jill. You four oldest at least are grown, adult women too. Still, I am looking forward to reading it!
I would have to agree Jill and her sisters Jinger, Jessa and Jana are not girls but young women! I still call myself a girl though and I am 24!
ReplyDeleteI'm in my 30's but look forward to reading this! :)
ReplyDeleteThe only book Christians need is the BIBLE.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Jana Duggar plan to do in the future?
