On February 1st, Kelly Bates gave birth to a baby boy, weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 8 ounces. After several days of discussion, the family has chosen the name Jeb Colton.
Jeb has spent the first week of his life in the NICU, but doctors expect that he should be headed home to meet all 18 of his eager siblings soon.
"Due to an excessive amount of amniotic fluid and a very quick descent through the birth canal, he ingested a lot of fluid," writes Kelly on the Bates family website.
Gil and Kelly Bates now have 19 children (10 girls and 9 boys). Combined with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 10 sons and 9 daughters, that is a grand total of 38 kids (and counting)!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it a weird but kinda cool coincidence that the Duggar's have 10 boys and 9 girls and the Bates have 10 girls and 9 boys, so cool. Congratulations to the Bates on their new wonderful gift :)

They are Jackson, Josie, Judson, and Jeb.
It's cool that the Bates have two of the same names as the Duggars (Jackson and Josie)
I think that is just not right... The bates family trying to catch up to the duggars and them being the famous family...I mean seriousely, Kelly just had her 18th baby and llike 2 months later is ALREADY prego with #19. I just don't like them..

I am just so happy for the Bates family and their family! I think its cool that The Bates have Ten girls and nine boys and The Duggars have Ten boys and nine girls on earth! I know the both have babies in Heaven as well! They are both strong families!

ReplyDeleteway-the Duggars have two children with the same name as the Bates-the Bates Jackson and Josie are older than the Duggars. Also the Bates named one of their miscarried babies Jubilee. I am glad now the Duggars and Bates are tied. It took Kelly more pregnacies since she has had no twins
