(Winters in Northwest Arkansas are moderate, so you can imagine the Duggars' surprise when they woke up to two feet of snow last February. Yes, you read that right. Not two centimeters or two inches, but a whopping two feet of fluffy, white snow.
"We normally only get about, at the most, like two or three inches," Jim Bob Duggar told us during our live interview the following day.
In the spirit of the season, we thought it would be fun to share pictures from their snow day. Come back tomorrow for the Duggars' Snow Ice Cream recipe!

ReplyDeleteHere in Canada usually we havwe more snow. Now,MB,it is not that much,a few inches. Last year we have lots of snow.
ReplyDeleteLove, Wilma
We get snow most years, but it rarely settles. October 2010 was the last bad lot of snow.
ReplyDeleteAmy Louise, Nottingham, UK
We generally have TONS of snow. At least 2 feet. But this year we only have 1 foot. Although before Thanksgiving we got 2 feet.
ReplyDeleteNot very common where I live now. But where I grew up it was very common to get snow in the winter.
ReplyDeleteIt varies, some years we get a huge amount and some years almost none. So far this year is in the almost none category.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to leave a comment to say I love this blog here and that its positive for those of us that just wish to know of all the latest about the duggar family without all the gossip attached like on other blogs!
ReplyDeleteLast year we had about six feet, about twelve for the whole year. Snow in Wyoming is very common. I'm ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteHi momto9,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words! We appreciate your readership.

Here in NY we usually get alot for the winter. We had a couple of inches a couple of weeks ago and at Halloween. Other than that nothing.
ReplyDeleteSandy
we don't get very much. I wish we would get more. This year (2012) We have only gotten like a centimeter. :( MAYBE an inch. But that is a BIG MAYBE.
ReplyDeleteThe david and priscilla wedding is going to be on Feb 4 and their streaming live through their website for anyone that wants to watch the wedding. http://davidlovespriscilla.com/
ReplyDeleteHere in Bedfordshire England, no snow at all yet this winter x
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw that about David and Priscilla's wedding too! Looking forward to getting to watch it live.....nice to know we can watch it together!
ReplyDeleteIn Oregon we never ever get any snow
ReplyDeleteSnow rarely/never occurs where I live (southeastern US). If it does occur, it will probably be snow flurries. ;)
ReplyDeleteHere in New Brunswick Canada we have a lot of snow.Last year the snow was 6 feet high.
ReplyDeleteI live in BC Canada and we seem to get snow every year but it usually doesn't last long. The amount of snow in our area can vary from one postal code to the next! We had about 7-8" at our place 10 days ago which lasted only 5 days. Lots of rain followed and washed it away. I love to look at the snow on the trees, rooftops and front lawns but I wish it wouldn't snow on the roads!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
well it's currently the middle of summer over here so defo no snow, to tell the truth I've never seen real snow as it only snows in a small area of australia which i have never been too!
ReplyDeleteas i live in cornwall england ,like arkansas we have mild winters, last year we did have snow for a few days ,all the children loved it and did not get to school ,as most places are rural dont think we will get any this year
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie, are some of the older girls wearing trousers in these pics? Joy-Anna and Jill look like they are. It's very unusual.
ReplyDeleteAmy-Louise T, England
Hi Amy-Louise T,
ReplyDeleteThe girls are wearing snow pants, and Jill is wearing her uniform from the volunteer fire department.
~Lily and Ellie
How funny. We were all in t-shirts and shorts y'day.
ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty until it starts melting. Then its' just a big muddy mess.
I saw a show where they specifically made skirts to wear at the volunteer fire department in deference to wearing pants. Did they change their minds and decide to wear pants instead?
ReplyDeleteWell here in Miami it never snows and I am really happy about that!!
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous (at 1:08 AM),
ReplyDeleteThe skirts, made with help from Anna in the episode "Duggars on Fire," are for the formal, EMT side of the volunteer fire department. When out on the job, and especially when fighting fires, Jana and Jill wear a traditional firefighter's uniform.

You dont have a lot of snow last year we have 5 feet of snow
ReplyDeleteI live in Ludington, MI .... Normally we get alot of snow. This year has been mild. We are waiting on the ice storm that is suppose to hit. Wish we could send more of our snow there. At least its not been as bitter as it has been.
ReplyDeleteMy family used to live in Canada, so almost every year we got atleast a foot and a half, almost two feet sometimes. We live in New York now, so when we get snow, its about an inch or two.
ReplyDeleteyo vivo en Valencia (España) y aquí no nieve nunca, es verdaderamente precioso ver todo tan blanco
ReplyDeletelike all winter long i am constantly dealing with snow
