  5. Ask Michelle Duggar, when you and her followers, slam other mothers "they don't give enough one-on-one time with their children," how much time does Michelle Duggar give to her children? If she only slept 4 hours a day, that would be enough to give each living one an hour a day each. There is no denial of that fact--that is a fact. Michelle Duggar has much less time than a "working mother" to give to her children--and I bet the farm she doesn't give that much time. She would not be able to do anything else, even take care of her personal needs. PLEASE RESPOND how much one-on-one time does Michelle Dugggar give to each of her children, since you regularly covertly slam other mothers?

  12. Do you think they will be heading back home to check on the rest of the family? If they are planning on going to Pricilla's wedding, I hope the entire family will be going.

  13. Hi Anonymous (at 5:14 PM),

Jim Bob and a few of the older children are in Florida, continuing to campaign with Santorum. It looks like Michelle has gone home.

  14. Hi Anonymous at 4:08 AM,
If you are reacting so strongly because you are a mother who works outside the home, I'm sorry that you are feeling "covertly slam"ed. I haven't felt that. I work outside the home - it is what works for our family. I seem to read a lot more criticism of Michelle's way and the kids doing chores than criticism of those who do things in a different way.

Related to your question about the time she spends with her children, (from what we see of their family) her way seems to be working well for them. The children appear to be friendly, well-behaved, and growing into adults who will able to care for themselves and their families. For families where the parents work outside the home and with children who attend school and participate in multiple outside activities: if the children are friendly, well-behaved, and are growing into adults who will be able to care for themselves and their families -- Terrific! It's multiple paths to the same destination.

If the situation your family has is one that works and that you are happy with, try not to feel bad if others don't agree -- celebrate that you are able to have the situation you desire! On the other hand, if you want a different situation for your family, I hope that you will be able to make the changes you would like to have happen.

  17. I have heard of families with only two children and the children grow up saying they never felt cherished or had much time with their parents. On the other hand, I've known personally people who grew up with fourteen siblings and each child says they felt dearly loved and cherished. I think that has to do with the parents. I think for the Duggars, the fruit is proof that the children know they are loved and have time with their parents.

  18. Nicely said Cassie. Good to remind us that we need to rejoice and be happy with what we have if it is working for us and our families. Thanks for the reminder! :-)

  19. The second song was Unclouded day or something like that. The lyrics go "oh they tell of a home far across the sky oh they tell me of a home far away.....oh they tell me of an unclouded day."

  20. Who cares how much time she spends she spends with each child? And why should we care? They are not draining any of our tax dollars with food stamps, or unruly children in jail. They don't tell me how I should run my household or how many kids I should have. They don't tell me to wear skirts or eat tater tot casserole, so who cares??? They are a lovely family and I think other people reacting do harshly do so out of their own guilt for not being able to manage their smaller households as well.

  25. To all you out there that are making assumptions about my post about how much time Michelle Duggar spends with her children, the post was in response to the statistics that were posted on this web site. FYI: My children are grown. One called me yesterday and said, "I just called to tell you how much I love you." Don't worry about my family--my family is fine. I just don't like Holier Than Thou people, that is all. I just don't. And that is my perfect right.

  26. Anonymous, what do you mean by statistics?
