Jim Bob wrote this letter to fans:
Dear Friends,
On behalf of the whole Duggar Family we would like to thank everyone for their prayers, emails and outpouring of love. We discovered during a routine 19-week ultrasound that our 20th child, who was due in April 2012, passed away recently. As our whole family is grieving, we also know that God promises to work all things for good in our lives. We rest in knowing, that even though our child has departed this life that we will one day see each other again in heaven.
Our prayer is that baby Duggar’s passing will help us all realize that this life is short, and our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing. He gives us a peace in our hearts as He guides us through whatever we might face.
We love you,
Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar & Family
Romans 8:28
Duggar Family: I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Last week, the Lord laid an urgency on my heart to pray fervently for Michelle and the baby, so I spent many nights praying that the Lord would place His mighty hand on Michelle and the baby and that He would give Michelle strength. My heart breaks for you all, but I have peace in knowing that God will work it all out for your good. You are so strong in your faith, and I know that God will bring you through this valley. I will continue to pray for you all. Love, Olivia Garrison

Duggar Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so saddened by your loss. I really feel so sad for you. I know that God has a plan for you. And that plan will be revealed to you soon. Everything happens for a reason, i truly believe that. I have six children and my youngest two have Cystic Fibrosis. That is a tough one, but we live, we laugh and we love.
Trust in the lord, and in each other.
Love and hugs from the McCullagh Family of Old Town, Maine
Its nice that Jim Bob wrote such a neat letter to his fans! I am just sad he had this happen to his family! He is in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe its a way of saying for you to stop over populating and enjoy the ones you have and not turn them into slaves to care for your young because they deserve a chance to develope and become individuals and that is one thing you do not allow your children to do you shelter them and dont allow them to grow and become who they want to be instead of who you manipulate them into being just something to think about
ReplyDeleteJim Bob, Michelle, and the Duggar Family: You all remain in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May you rest in the knowledge that we will see each other again in Heaven. Wishing you peace and comfort in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss but also praise God for your testimony to His sovereignty! I will be praying for you all.

I was so very sorry to hear about your loss. There are no words that I can give to ease your suffering. Know that you all are in my prayers, and that there are people all over the world who care for you and all of your family. I have suffered several miscarriages myself, and I can understand some of your grief. May God keep you and bless you, you are all in my prayers.

I am now pregnant with our second little once since our miscarriage. Praying for peace and comfort from the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeletePrayers and love to all of you
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We know the baby is resting in Jesus and we'll meet again. I will remember your family in my prayers as you grieve the loss of this precious one. This precious little one who will not grow up with the other children but is still very much a part of the family!
ReplyDeleteWith deep sympathy.
Each child is a blessing! You are so right. We were blessed with two. We wanted many children but God has a plan and I love the two we have fiercely! Your family will continue to grow and the public will continue to learn and be inspired on the fun, educational and inspirational gifts of parenting! Please stay strong! We need you!
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear about your loss, You and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad point in your lives ... My heart goes out to you all , You are a very strong family and Michelle you are a very strong woman , God Bless you and your family ...
ReplyDeleteWell said Jim Bob! When I lost my baby in 2008 my husband said 'For God it doesn't matter if you live 1 minute or a 100 years, for Him you are His creation and He loves us!' and what you're saying here is so true, keep your focus on Jesus and He will carry you through! Again my heartfelt condolances to you all {{{HUGS}}}
ReplyDeleteMy hearts goes out to you all. I had the same experience in october this year. I have 5 sons and lost a little girl. It doesn't matter how many children u have your heart is never the same.. God Bless you all xoxo

Praying for you and your family during this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. You are a true inspiration for all of us. Peace be with you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your family is an inspiration to me. If it is in God's plan to bless you with 1 more or 10 more, I will be praying and thinking about you everyday. May God give you all the comfort and peace you need!
ReplyDeleteI only am seeing this now Michelle and Jim Bob, as a person who has tried to have a large family and never succeeded (yet !!!), I can understand the grief you are going through. I admire you Michelle and Jim Bob because I can imagine the pain you are going through but your faith in God is still rock solid. It is easy to have faith in God when everything is going well for you but it is not so easy when things are going wrong and the way you said in your letter Jim Bob leads me to believe that you believe there is a reason why this happened. I certainly will pray that you are consoled and will pray to the Holy Family (particularly as Christmas is upon us) that they may carry you through this heavy cross you have to carry. God bless you all from Orla Walsh in Ireland
ReplyDeleteMy heart aches for all you are going through. May The Lord Jesus Christ continue to be revealed in the loving lives you live so openly before a world which struggles withHis grace.
ReplyDeletewould love to meet your family sometime love your shows think it is great God let you all have big family like that it is awesome God has blessed you all Keep Believeing and keep living for GOD !!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDear Duggar's... our family loves you all so much and are so proud of how you represent Christian families everywhere.. We will be praying for you as you come to grieve the loss of your little baby.. as the song says.."At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door." We look forward to how the Lord will use this is the lives of the world to see Jesus. God bless you and keep you as only He can do..
ReplyDeleteMuch Love .. Janet
Duggars, I am sorry for your loss as well and pray that you will praise God in this time and that you will look around you and be even more grateful for the family He has blessed you with. I am thankful for you and praise God that he uses your family to show the world the value of life and I thank Him that though this baby's life was short, that He has used the child (and your obedience in welcoming children) miraculously. I am thankful that there may have been other mothers and fathers considering terminating a pregnancy who have looked to your example and trusted God for provision and guidance for their own families. We will never know fully the many ways God uses things for good! Imagine, a life that was never born saving other lives! Praise Jesus!! Thank you Duggars, you make a difference in the lives of the youth I work with: they are homeless and many have no involved parents and I look to you as an example for the work I am blessed to do with them. Be encouraged! Love, Amanda

ReplyDeleteSo very sorry for your loss. Our family's prayers are with all of you.
ReplyDeleteI prayed for the Duggars thursday night. At that time i didn't know the news. My prayer was lazy. I think that a lesson to learn from this is that you should pray with all your heart. I don't blame my-self because Gods will is humanly uncontrollable but I will be praying harder from now on.
ReplyDeleteDear Duggar Family:
ReplyDeleteMay God be with you all at this time! It's hard to comprehend why things happen the way they do but when we know that God is in control of all things we can be sure He knows best and in that we can find peace! Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;..." My prayers are with you all! May God bless you!
Sincerly and with love!

michelle and jim bob and the rest of the duggars, i am so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. i to have lost a baby so i know exactly how you guys are feeling. i pray that God helps you during this difficult time. thinking of you all
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous(s)who posted criticism here. You are certainly allowed your opinions, and the moderator did let them post. I think it was unnecessarily harsh however, to make your criticisms while the Duggars are grieving. Timing is important, you missed it.

Dear Duggars, Thank you so much for your outpouring of love to us, your viewers and fellow sojourners in this pilgrimage. I, too, am grateful for our promise of eternity with Jesus and those gone on before us. You are all in my prayers. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteDuggar Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your lost. The lord has blessed your with many children (blessings) and remember that he will never put you threw anything you can't handle. My aunt Has had six misscarriages and her recent child died shortly after birth due to some heart problems. She is a big fan of your show and watching it keeps her and husband with hopes of being blessed with a child. Also Joshua has inspired me to wait until marriage for my first kiss. You do a wonderful job of raising your children godbless
i CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME. I'M VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. YOU ARE ABSOLOUTELY THE MOST SWEETEST FAMILY. PLEASE KEEP YOUR HEADS UP HIGH AND HEARTS CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. AGAIN SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss. I have recently miscarried on November 29th, 2011. The experience has been a very emotional and depressing experience. I was 7 weeks 5 days and I had heard and seen the heartbeat the week before. I was settled on the fact that I was having another child. My sons are 19 and 15 and I had had my tube reversed a couple of years back, so when I finally got pregnant I was very happy. I am really hoping and praying that with the love your family shares it will help in the grieving process. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss. Having gone through the same emotional and heartbreaking situation just recently on November 29, 2011, I miscarried. I was at 7 weeks 5 days and had already seen the heartbeat the week before. I did not think I could get pregnant again I thought the tubal reversal had failed, but it did not. I am 35 year old mom of two boys ages 15 and 19. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and the love you and your family share will help through the grieving process.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss and heartache. God has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives. You have an amazing family and this is a sign to stop and enjoy the healthy family you have.
ReplyDeleteGod is good even when things happen that we don't understand. our prays are with you all and God will see you through this. Just a side note my Grandmother had my uncle George when she was 48 so there may still be blessing to come.
ReplyDeleteMy heart and prayers go out to all of you. May God bless you with an abundance of peace, love and grace. Don't listen to all the internet reports; listen to the One who is in control. We love you and thank God for each one of you.
ReplyDeleteJim Bob, Michelle and Family,
ReplyDeleteI am truly sorry and saddened for your loss. I know that children are a blessing from the Lord and He has most certainly blessed you greatly, however, that still does not lessen the heartache and sadness that you must be feeling at this time. Although I personally have never suffered any loss like that, I just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God wrap His loving arms around you all and may He direct you in the way you should go. Proverbs 3:5&6. Stay true to Him and may this truly bring an even closer bond of love and values to your family.
In Christ, Signe Mazeroll
Duggar family, you are in my prayers. I recently just had a miscarriage and it was devastating even though i was only 10 weeks. I can't imagine being that far along and losing a life you looked so forward too. A quote that has helped me get through everything: "An angel in the Book of Life wrote down my baby's birth & whispered as she closed the Book: "Too beautiful for this Earth"
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you all. You are all such a witness. We can't help but wonder if many can learn from your example at this time. Give it thought. So many are mislead and confused about when life begins. Michelle, let Jesus comfort you. I had a miscarriage years ago and tried to blame myself. I know it was not my fault; but it is natural to wonder. I felt the loss. It takes time to get back to everyday life afterwards. Please keep having your shows. They are wonderful and truly inspirational. Again, we were very sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. You remain in our prayers. Love to the Duggar Family. Gary & Connie
ReplyDeleteSo well said. The loss of a child, at any age or gestation is heartbreaking and does remind us of the brevity of life. I lost my son when I was 34 weeks pregnant alittle under three years ago. It changed my life forever. But while I grieve his loss as well as all the hopes and dreams I had for him, I am reminded that this world is not our home. And that God promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. While the pain feels encompassing and dark, we can have hope that we will be reunited with our children in heaven. Thank you for sharing openly about your loss -my prayer is that it will open a dialog that is much needed regarding infant loss in our wombs. Continued prayers for you all.
ReplyDeleteJimBob and Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI adore your family and have been very encouraged by your books. We are a homeschool family with 5 children, and had our first miscarriage last week. My heart is with your family right now, praying for God's comfort. May God bless you for your obedience to him...I know it is not always easy being in the spotlight, but your post here has encouraged me in the midst of my own recent loss. God bless you and your family during this very difficult time... I know that his strength will be there for you when your strength is gone.
Lisa
I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a child is unbeleivable. May the Lord Bless you and keep you and your family in your time of greif.

You are a strong woman and have such a loving, supportive husband and family. You are truly blessed.

ReplyDeleteDear Duggar Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. My nineteen year old daughter was born with special needs and she follows your family probably more than any other fan. She will wake up in the morning and say, "Guess what today is?" Then she will proceed to say it's one of the Duggar's birthdays and how old they are. She keeps us all informed. She was in tears when she found out about the miscarriage, and we all have been praying for you in this time of sadness. We are so happy, though, for all Josie has become despite her hardships. Thank you for shining God's light in a dark world.
My heart goes out to you. I had several miscarriages, and know the hurt that it causes. My prayers are with all of you. I love your show and your faith.
ReplyDeletePaula
Our prayers are with you during this time. Losing a child, even to our Lord, is an extraordinarily difficult thing for any parent to endure. The gift of faith sustains us, but it doesn't lessen the heartache. May He continue to bless you all. ~ Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI am praying for your family in this time of loss. You are all such an inspiration & I am thankful that you are not ashamed to give glory to Jesus in all that He does. May God give each & everyone of you comfort from above.
ReplyDeleteI,m so sorry for your loss. May God richly bless you all at this time. my prayers are with you all.Jennifer B
ReplyDeleteMichelle, Jim Bob, and the whole Duggar Family:
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful name for your little one. Grieving with you in your loss. and praying for peace that passes understanding.
Much Love and Prayer.
Don't know if you remember this song. Michael Card. "Jubilee" Was in tears to hear it again, knowing that it is also now the name of a precious Duggar child.

I am in total agreement with "Housetop Shouter"! Shame on the ones who are being so selfish and critical during a time of grief. Funny how the ones who are critical cannot leave a name and have to be so cowardly as to identify thmselves as "anonymous." However I think both Jim Bob and Michelle are above these people's immaturity. Someone once said, "you can't live until you have lost everything." Losing a child is as close to losing everything you have and unless one has experienced it, they DO NOT understand. My heart is with the entire Duggar family during your time of loss. You and your family are a inspiration to me and I follow your show and have read both books with total amazement. Merry Christmas to your entire family and may the Lord continue to heal your hearts and prepare you to meet your precious Jubilee Shalom in Heaven!
ReplyDeleteDear Family: Wanted you know that I am praying for you. Our family has a little one waiting for us also. We have 2 special grandsons here with us now and another boy due in March. How God blesses!! It broke my heart to hear about your loss. You have a precious family. Love from South Carolina

I send you my prayers for peace and strength following the loss of your dear, little Jubilee. She has given you a very special gift, that is, a strengthening of the love you all have and and closeness you enjoy as a warm and loving family. Jubilee may have been with you for a moment but one day you will celebrate the love of Jesus when you are all together in Heaven. What a wonderful thing to look forward to. My love and prayers are with you all. Theresa Neill
ReplyDeleteMICHELLE IM PRAYING FOR YOU AND FOR YOUR FAMILY I HADNT BEEN ABLE YO SEE YOUR BLOG SINCE THE MISCARRIAGE DUE TO THAT I AM EXPECTING ALSO I WAS DUE ON THE 24TH BUT SO FAR NO BABY YET.SO I CANT IMAGINE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO LOSE A CHILD AND WISH YOU THE BEST AND HOPE THAT JESUS WILL HELP YOU THROUGH THIS HARD TIME. ReplyDeleteBabies born sleeping are a precious gift and are always loved. 32 years ago, my little angel was born sleeping at 8 months. She remains part of our lives and often brings a tear to my eye, as do her sisters, brother and now my 5 grandchildren - there are tears of love, and happiness, and there are tears of sadness as we feel the pain for surviving children and grandchildren. Jubilee may be walking a better path in a better place than you right now, but you will be reunited and you will be able to embrace her again and share true Eternal love. I will one day be reunited with my daughter and my sleeping angel grandchild and am comforted to know our love will be eternal. Love and prayers to you all Duggars. I know the emptiness Michelle and Jim Bob feel, but also understand the emptiness their other children feel. That sorrow will always be there, but it will soon be replaced with joy and remember, there is no Sorrow without Love. If jubilee was not already loved, no-one would feel sorrow at her loss, so be proud of your sorrow , your love will replace it in time.
