On tonight's season finale episode of 19 Kids and Counting, "Duggars: All You Wanted to Know"...
Q: Do the Duggars use coupons?
A: Most stores they shop at are wholesale and do not accept coupons. Jim Bob also admits that they do not have enough time to coupon.
Q: Why is it a family rule not to dance?
A: It's not a rule, but a personal conviction that both Jim Bob and Michelle share.
Q: Do the Duggars give their kids timeouts?
A: Yes, but typically not for correction. When the children are becoming overly rowdy, Michelle tells them to grab a book and sit quietly to calm down.
Q: How do Jim Bob and Michelle effectively bathe all their little ones on a regular basis?
A: It's an assembly line. They gather all the necessary items (pajamas, towels, diapers, etc), fill the tub, and try to bathe the cleanest child first.
Q: What would it take to date a Duggar girl?
A: "Talk to my dad," says Jill. "He knows what we're looking for in a guy and future spouse."
Q: Do the Duggars have Facebook or Twitter accounts?
A: None living at home do, but there are plenty of imposters. Josh and Anna had a Facebook account, but then someone told Facebook that it was a fake.
Q: What brought upon the need to bring 19 children into an overpopulated world?
A: "One of the greatest myths in today's society is that the world is overpopulated," says Jim Bob. "By raising these children to love the Lord and to serve and love others...that hopefully is going to make a difference for good in our world," says Michelle.
Beginning this Sunday, TLC will show weekly footage of the Duggars' overseas adventure! Tune in at 9PM EST/8PM CST for "Duggar World Tour," and as always, we will post a recap.

Ok so I am always watching your show, and wondering...do the girls always have to wear skirts? What about if you go on a "field trip" or a vacation, and they can't?
ReplyDeleteSo it's been said that you use the "Pearl Method" of parenting. Is this true?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteThe Duggar girls are not forced to wear skirts. It's a personal conviction that all of them share. The goal is to draw people to their countenance, instead of to their clothing (or lack thereof).
Thanks for reading!

for example, they made an exception when they went skydiving.
ReplyDeleteLove the Duggars SO much!! They're the only wholesome show on T.V. and I'm sad that this season is over, but I'm so excited to watch the special of them going overseas!! I guess the only thing I can critique about this show was that thy answered questions that they were asked on the "Ask the Duggars" episode. If you're a fan, you should know those answers already!! Excited about baby #20 on the way! God is so good and has blessed them richly with all these children. They are the real deal!
ReplyDeleteI adore the family. They are an inspiration! I admire them for what they do and how they live their lives. I pray Michelle has a healthy pregnancy, and all goes beautifully! You have a beautiful family and I wish you all much love and happiness to continue in the years to come! Bless you!
ReplyDeletehi, i dont have cable so i wasn't able to watch last night's airing. my question is: is these all the questions that were asked and answered or were there more? and if there were more could you please post the rest of the questions with the answers. thank you for reading and for your time.
ReplyDeleteI have already begun to pray for you and the baby and the pregnancy. I pray it is uneventful and healthy to the end. Your family is a fantastic example to our country. This country needs the values you teach. God Bless you all.
ReplyDeleteThey are letting the number of children be up to the Lord, but the Bible also teaches moderation...20 isn't moderation. If it was up to the Lord, there wouldn't be such overpopulation of dogs and cats, either. I understand that privately some of the older children find a family this large is "wrong" and "not what God wants", but won't voice this to their parents. Also, Josie appears to be have Downs Syndrome or other form of retardation. She has the "look" that has come to be connected to those problems. Has any diagnosis of this been made? I doubt this comment will make it through because this is obviously a "Pro-Duggars" site. I wish Michelle well with this pregnancy, but come on Jim Bob...time for a vasectomy or other kind of birth control...you could be killing Michelle.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to a recent People article that specifically says "Josie will turn 2 in December and is developing normally, without any longterm effects from her premature birth."

Hope this answers your question.

Hi Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteThere were other questions, but most have already been answered by the Duggars numerous times.
Thanks for reading!

I'm so glad they mentioned the overpopulation myth. It is really unbelievable how many people think that's really true, especially considering the trouble Korea, China, and many European countries are in as a result of their population control.
ReplyDeleteSo did Josh and Anna's Facebook account get shut down!?
ReplyDeleteWait! I want to know where these verses about moderation in children are. I've heard that said several times, but no one ever quotes chapter and verse. What verses are you referring to, Anonymous?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Sara!
ReplyDeleteOn the episode, Jill and Jinger said that Josh and Anna had a Facebook but that somebody told Facebook their page was fake. It sounds like it was shut down.

I just heard of the new pregnancy.I wish your mother good health, and an easy pregnancy. I was very shocked, and worry for the baby as well as your mother. As Josie is heathly now, when she first was born, she gave us all a scare. I hate the idea your family would have to go thru that again.Blessings to you all. Look forward to watching the overseas episode, and next season.
ReplyDeleteI remember an earlier show where Jim bob said that they will leave the birth of their children in gods hands and that god would let them know when to stop well don't they think that maybe their trouble with the last baby just might of been a sign from god to slow down and let your body rest now and stop having babies.
ReplyDeletePlease understand that I do not mean to be anti-Duggar, for I feel they are a genuine Christian couple, but as a mother of 7, I do wonder a few things. I wonder why they hold their older children, who are now young adults, so close, for example, hiring a tutor for college courses & the use of online courses. Is this just another way to keep their children where they can see (& perhaps control) them? Are they afraid to let them out of the safety net of the family to make their own decisions? These children appear to be raised in a way that should undergird them as they transition into their own lives in the world. Surely they do not need more undergirding. Why not let them go to college, even commute? Why not let them meet people who might be different from them? Or are they needed to help run the home so Michelle can devote her time to other things, such as being pregnant? What would happen if the girls 18 & over left to have their own lives, either by marriage or higher education? Who would replace them? Who would do the housework or supervise the education of the younger ones? How amazing it would be & what a ripple effect it would create if all those Duggars would pursue various occupations & influence the world for Christ as doctors, attorneys, teachers, even cab drivers, artists, performers or seamstresses, but would not be possible if they all remain in the Duggar compound. One more thought..while I do agree that, "There is always room for one more," I also wonder why that "one more" has had to be birth children & why it cannot be adopted children who are in need of a home & a Christian upbringing? What a Christian witness that would be! Why do they feel the need to procreate? I agree with trusting God, but I would not stand in the middle of a busy highway & say "God protect me." That would be foolish. We are called on to use wisdom & are told in both Old & New Testaments not to put God to the test.
ReplyDeleteI taped the Q&A show this week, but missed the last minute. What was Josh & Anna's announcement?
ReplyDeleteHi Judyp!
ReplyDeleteThat was just Josh joking around. The announcement was: "Anna's not pregnant."
Have a fabulous day!

I personally love the Duggars, and i'm not even a christian or religous in ANY way. I do believe in morality and living right..oh yes, also in spirituality. I strongly believe in live and let live? If people can't be kind to one another through their comments, why bother at all? I think some people have some sort of self validation by saying negative things about others (it's called scapegoating look it up, the reason WHY ppl have the need to do so). People should worry about themselves. Yes they are public ppl through their own actions, but still...it's THEIR lives!!! I for one, love them. I love the differences that make this world a better, more interesting place :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the Duggers they are an amazing family and I wish them all luck and GOD BLESS them all. I have been watching them since they started being on tv. it is amazing being a mother and also being a grandma I have 4 daughters and I will be having 4 grandsons my oldest is having another one and she is due June 5th 2015 and I can not wait to see the she has Levi, Landon and the 3rd baby will be named Liam and my second daughter has a son and his name is Tristen. They mean the world to me and I wish you all luck and GOD BLESS you all.
ReplyDeleteOn episode this episode, Jill mentioned that, as a family, they sometimes play the “Right Response” game. She said that it teaches character. Does anyone know if that is the actual name and from where I can buy it?
